I tested its limits once. I found a photo of a woman in a shirt, then I made her shirt pink. Then I flipped the image horizontally. Then I rotated the image by 10 degrees and cropped it.
Then I did a reverse image search and Yandex STILL found the original from my edit.

Perhaps they used the Image Metadata to match it with the original one.
Yeah, need to test it again with the EXIF stripped.
