If a man were 10 ft tall, or 3 ft tall, he might not fit in the ride, either, and I wouldn't have any sympathy for him, either. It's not fatphobia; it's that machines are designed for an average person, and if you are too much bigger or smaller than that, they aren't safe. The fatass is in the unique position of, if she lost some weight, she could probably achieve her dream of one day riding the dumbass Harry Potter ride.

Also, read a different book lol

If a man were 10 ft tall

This happened to one of the guys in our group on some rides in Florida. He wasn't 10 feet tall, probably 7+, but was still outside the range of safety regulations for some like the Hulk roller-coaster nearer the entrance of the park.

I'm above average in height - not that above average, but enough - and the number of things that are uncomfortable to use because of this is astonishing. Planes, most cars, pretty much any wheeled power tool like a lawnmower, strollers, vacuums. And this is all just because I'm in the top ~10%.

Still, I'm not going to cry to some journoscum about it. And unlike the butter golem in this article, I can't do anything about it. Except wait, I guess. Maybe once I'm 90 I'll be short enough that I can mow the lawn without bending at the waist.

"I have body issues."

Go to a gym and stop eating McDonalds, you stupid fat fuck. It's your own damn fault you got into that state, and it's your fault you're still in that state. Maybe your parents as well for feeding you too much junk and being terrible role models. Not Universal's.

This doesn't happen without a gaggle of friends and family telling her "You go guuuuurl; looking fab U lous" [behind her back: "like O.M.G., bitch looks like lard with extra chins"]. If you're fat enough to be worried about weight and size(width) restrictions, maybe the problem is you. Wouldn't be surprised if some other fuckwit like Peter Dinklage jumps on the hate train to yell about midget discrimination- YoU mUsT bE ThIs TaLl To Be CoNsIdErEd HuMaN aT uNiVeRsAl.

I know people who blame their parents for being fat. In their 50's.

A teenager has the intellectual capacity to understand excess calories are stored as fat, and fat is used when eating at a deficit. A teenager also has the intellectual capacity to stop eating when it had enough.

My mother consistently served too much food to everyone. "Strangely" my parents were fat. I used to dump about 1/3 of the food in the trash after every meal and ask her polotely for less because of the waste.

She never made less... untill I started taking my plate before the meal and dump half of it in the trash, then eat the rest. Not long after I made my own meals anyway, but that helped her figure maby too much food made her fat, not muh thyroid and muh genetics.

So no adult has an excuse for being fat. They can explain what led them to consistently eat too much beyond childhold, but they cannot hand-wave it away as someone else's responsability.

Well, unless they are mentally retarded and someone else is still responsible to control their food intake. Or their parents beating them if they don't overeat, then GTFO that house about yesterday.

There is actually a physiological process wherein being obese as a kid makes it objectively harder to lose weight as an adult. Letting your kid get fat permanently ruins them by way of generating excess adipocytes, which do not go away unless they're physically destroyed. It's not impossible to lose weight in this state, of course, but it is significantly more difficult.

There is no excuse for being so goddamn fat you can't get in an amusement park ride, which is already designed to accommodate fat people. I don't care how many extra fat cells you have, you starve yourself in an empty room for a few weeks if that's what it takes.

Good news, your body hates maintaining "useless storage" and if you keep them empty, your body won't replace all the dying adipocytes ( they get replaced every few years ) so you will have fewer of them.

Keeping the now-useless adipocytes in the same number is a waste of energy ( fatties have a much higher basal metabolic rate than a non-fattie of the same age, height and genetics would ), and wasting energy like thst used to be very disadvantegous for survival.

Conversely if you keep overeating, your body will make more even into adulthood. It's a vicious cycle up to each person to make the effort to break.

It dosen't change the fact a caloric deficit will make a fattie lose weight, but it will influence how much hormones adipose tissues secrete to try and influence the fattie to eat more.

Harder to the mind, but won't change the numbers involved, despite what proponents of Cosmic Fat Osmosis claim ( the "fat people don't eat more, their body just holds onto fat" crowd ).

Thankfully humans have a brain capable of delaying gratification and make the choice to endure discomfort now, for better outcomes tomorow.

I used to be alot more sympathetic to the idea of government intervention to manage people's food consumption, but after 2 years of pseudoscientific sanitary circus :

For the love of God never give another inch to the government or they will make everything miserable for everyone because somewhere, a fattie will overeat if people are allowed to make their own decisions.

Eh, I could cut the teen some slack while they're a teen and living with their parents. Some people were just absolutely stupid when they were young. But once they leave the house it's 100% on them no matter what traumatic "issues" they're dealing with.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Universal employees are fatphobic because they would rather make me feel bad than let me on the ride to die or suffer horrific injury.

The only concession I would make is that people too fat to ride should be able to test before paying at the barrier of entry or get compensated (maybe full refund) if they can't ride. Other than that, you've already eaten your cake, fatty, so you can't have it too.

Depending on the ride, she could also have killed someone by crushing or by causing the security bar to lock too high to restrain a small passager.

When I got tall enough as a teen bag of bones to ride a nice rollercoaster, I was seated next to an obese woman.

The security bar locked on her thighes. Uh oh.

Second turn she grabbed my arm so I wouldn't get ejected out.

Fat people kill.

Not really; it's only a good meme if you can fit it on a single .jpg =P

Maybe when somebody invents HTML 22 they'll be able to support her extra, extra wide meme format.

There is nothing I detest more than the Fat Positive Crowd...and I say this as a FAT guy trying to lose weight. I can't stand these people. I mean, I can accept the fat guy or girl who has no issue with being overweight and doesn't give a damn what others think. At least they know what they are and don't try to blame everyone else for the way they are. But the fat positive crowd? They have no accountability for their own actions and just want to blame everyone else for their bullshit in life.

I'm gonna own up to something here. A few years back, I tried to ride Space Mountain at Disney LA but was turned away because I was too big to fit in the carriage. Not one of my proudest moments in life and sure, I was a little embarrassed and even a little ashamed of myself. But I didn't cry about it. I didn't blame Disney. I simply shrugged, blamed myself, felt that slab of shame and walked away.

Since starting this diet late last year, I'm down 15 kg and I do feel Fab-U-Lous for it....why? Because I took the damn initiative to own up to my bullshit in life and do something about it.

So fuck the fat positive crowd. I get it, it sucks being overweight. It sucks being obese. It's a vicious cycle when your mind isn't in a healthy place. Believe me, I know! I've battled serious depression through most of my adult life. But the only way you can get out of that vicious cycle is to own up to your bullshit and DO something about it.

So yeah, speaking as a fat guy? She gets no sympathy from me. At all. I really can't tell you how much I hate the fat positive movement.

Drumfuldore is an evil hwite supremacist who won't condemn Voldemort's policies. Harry is a hwite highschool student who insulted a̶̶̶ ̶̶̶n̶̶̶i̶̶̶g̶̶̶g̶ an enslaved elf by smiling at it and releasing said elf from its superior owner, and supported Drumfuldore despite overwhelming government factchecking that proved the old man was a Wizard Nazi seeking to over throw them and take over. Though in reality, they were working with the real Wizard Hitler all this time and ran a smear campaign via the government controlled media outlets.

Make Hogwarts Great Again.

Simulation theory really getting proven right. So is Rowling based, is it all fake and planted like all those 9/11 references pre-9/11 (see: Contagion, regarding covid -- it's a whole ass copy of what Covid hysteria did to the world, except if covid was as deadly as the actual virus in the movie)?
