That's why scientists don't make decisions. That is one of the most ridiculous myths of the modern era. TRUST THE SCIENCE Y'ALL! Outside of Clown World, executives make decisions after weighing in options and input from many sources. Not just scientists. And executives take responsibility for their decisions. "The buck stops here." They don't defer to anyone, whether scientist or garbage man.
As a scientist you can certainly give your qualified opinion, as can any other rando. You cannot impose your opinion on anyone else or pretend that your opinions embody truth from the weight of authority alone.
