After church today I had to grab a few things at Target which is nearby and in certain sections they had signs letting me know which products were made by black owned businesses. I almost shouted "it is the year 2022, I think a business today can sink or swim on their own merit". I know it is typical large corporation wokeness, and I can expect next month to hear endless crap about supporting female owned business, and in June we are all inundated with lgbt crap.
I have always seen this as so condescending because the best thing you can do for someone is hold them to the same standard as everyone else and not make excuses for failure. The vast majority of the world population had ancestors who faced extreme hardships so nobody is special in that regard. Government should allow businesses to operate without interfering or picking winners and losers like it always does. A tried and true lesson is that if you have a product/service people want, they will come regardless of who you are. I live in Texas so bbq is very popular (if any of you are ever in my area of North Texas I'll treat you to my favorite spot) and there used to be a gas station nearby where this older black man and his two son would serve bbq and they gave the gas station a cut of the profits. It was hugely popular and they eventually got their own restaurant. They produced a product in demand.
But honestly if people want to help those who don't have the same advantages, then volunteer your time. I've done some tutoring work and if I ever have the money I would love to open up places in low income areas that offers free tutoring, SAT prep, and a massive resource of books, especially western classics.
Sorry for the rant, but I am just so tired of this endless coddling of people. Especially the excuses made for violent crime or ignorant behavior. I am all for giving everyone equal opportunity (i.e. holding everyone to the same standard), but the fact of the matter is that some people will always have more opportunities than others or will have more advantages than others. Simple fact of life. Some people will also have to work harder than others.
I leave you with one of my favorite Thomas Sowell quotes (I often say I am not an economics major, but I have read enough Sowell and Friedman to sound like I know what I am talking about):
“You cannot take any people, of any color, and exempt them from the requirements of civilization -- including work, behavioral standards, personal responsibility and all the other basic things that the clever intelligentsia disdain -- without ruinous consequences to them and to society at large.”
― Thomas Sowell
I've stopped calling it soft. It's bigotry through and through; the bigotry of no expectations. Black people are no longer moral agents to be judged on their actions with the rest of us; they are incapable children of no social, economic, or intellectual value who need "whitey" to give them what they cannot achieve for themselves.
This is why I literally prefer ConPro over these people. Better an open racist than a snake wearing the skin of empathy and morality- like a whore trying to sell themselves as chaste.
it's not bigotry if the results match the expectations
They expect all minorities can become doctors, engineers and CEOs if only they could eliminate HUWAITE SUPREMACY. You think that in any way lines up with reality? So, bigotry it is =P
True. I love that phrase but it sadly goes on a ton. I used to hate when my dad would always say that life isn’t fair or the world owes me nothing. I hated it at the time but looking back that was valuable advice. I think more young people need to hear that now.
Well, that's half your problem right there. Target was one of the if not the first major store to give in to the gender neutral bathroom demands, so it's not surprising they're going all in on black owned businesses (and the other fads).
But, I agree with you that it is condescending. And, frankly, I've started doing what Galean said in his comment. If I see something advertised as a "<X> owned business!" I just avoid it on principle. Don't care if I'm missing out on something good, that's a chance I'm willing to take to not support the idpol nonsense.
target also datamines the fuck out of you and uses pervasive surveil ance in all of their stores, even in ghgettos. target is the closest thing to what an Amazon big box store would be, in practice.
same here on the advertising for racial busineses, the only label im going to spike buy is one that was banned for offending literally who. the rest of these virtue signaling businesses can fuck off
Or a math study guide
Or Father's Day cards.
It is a sad thing,
Race relations have been steadily improving until Obama came into power and started making everything about race. The media and the left at large followed suit. It very quickly went downhill from there.
While this is a nice story, it's wrong. Race relations have been deteriorating since the 60s because Blacks became a useful weapon by Globalists against the American people (aka Whites).
The disintegration of the Black family using welfare has led to untold amounts of suffering both in the Black community and the White community. Who pushed the drugs into Black inner cities? Who controls media that glorifies destructive behavior among Blacks? Who refuses to punish Black criminals?
Back in the 80s you'd see sitcoms like Cosby with intact Black families. In 90s it was Fresh Prince with a fatherless proto-thug in an intact Black family. From the 00s onward it's been all broken families and pimps & whores. All of this takes place on a backdrop where Whites have been victimized by Black criminals and denied (by warfare & lawfare) the ability to make their own White-only communities.
The 90s were a really prosperous time, and the 00s were marked by a lot of focus on Muslims as "the enemy." But if you ignore the surface level propaganda it's easy to see that the real problems were growing worse and all of the rot we see like "privilege" "equity" "social justice" took root during this time or even earlier.
Great points all around. Also look in general how the traditional family has disintegrated. Two of my favorite classic shows are leave it to beaver and Father Knows Best. It actually makes me sad how those shows are mocked now and the ideal of a family unit like that is seen as antiquated.
If MLK Jr. wasn't a man of faith, we'd be in much darker timeline.
In order to judge things by race, you are compelled to think about the inherent differences instead of similarities. It's impossible to bring unity if people are constantly forced towards othering each other into groups different from their own. There's literally no way for it to NOT have the opposite effect.
Another side effect is people trying to take advantage of the victim hierarchy to climb the progressive stack. White people are already self-identify as Hispanic to get preferential hiring or acceptance into their schools of choice. Feeling too straight, but don't want to commit to being gay? Well, I'm Bi or Queer now and just happen to be dating the opposite sex- weird coincidence.
Well said.
Heck I’ve done that. But any time you tell me I should buy simply due to who owns it my tendency is to not buy. The only thing I will do is support places in my local community. Or if a relative opens a business
The fun part is that there aren't any black owned businesses to buy from that most people would go to to begin with. Because its either deep in the ghetto where no one would dare tread for safety, or a shitty internet qween selling garbage no one wants at absurd prices.
Blacks aren't some common group you can just find in most of the world, they are tiny insulated clusters in a handful of major cities. And of those few, most are either too poor or too incapable of running a business.
I remember seeing black people in Tokyo and just thinking...how? Why?
They were in the red light district so who knows, but still.
Possibly US soldiers on leave from Okinawa.
They had Jamaican accents and were handing out flyers for some club.
I'm just wondering how they got there.
They flew there from the United States, probably
The goal is never to elevate blacks or other minorities, the goal is always to destroy whites.
The anti white hatred has been clear for a while. I guess with these businesses you would think they would have some pride and say they can be successful on their own without attempts to “elevate” them
The anti white hatred has been clear for a while. I guess I would think that if I ran a business I’d want to succeed or fail based on my own merits. Not because of idiotic “elevation”
This. Divirsity hiring doesnt work after a long time for the same reasons this doesnt, people who are elevated professionally whether as a business or an employee will eventually be faced with problems that they arent qualified for, leading to shuttering of the business, or lost profits, i dont care what sex/gender/whatever you are if you do a good job. maybe would descrim with trannies for the suicidal behaviors, but everyone else who works hard can be cool in many jobs.
This gets those ESG points, which some investors require (BlackRock), and some financing organizations give better rates on loans.
I heard some states are putting a ban on ESG ratings or something like that. How do you fight against it?
It's hard. This is a parallel societies type thing.
First, most people don't know about it, so Informing people about it, and that it was done behind their backs using the virus (and their handling of it/everyone) as an "opportunity" to force this through. Second is building a lack of trust in the people in the planning and enforcement of this: Canada's banks all use it, and they just froze people's bank accounts. The WEF has talked about how great it was having no people on the street in 2020, and that there should be a climate lockdown every two years.
One of the problems is that some of what the Klaus and the WEF talk about is insane. They're fully intent on realizing it, and have already started, but it'll take time to get people ready to accept it, while also countering the "Great Narrative" that they've started.
Actual consequences are the most important thing. Many politicians only changed their stances when they started really worrying about reelection. Banks might think more when people pull out, but CEO remuneration is already tied to ESG. When that money goes elsewhere, like to support those against ESG is where it's really important.
There are the groups that use woke oppression politics to take power, and the groups that benefit from its trickle down effects. They either know how stupid it is, or they don't care because "Imma get mine". Those are the people in power and represented by media. Everyone else with common sense isn't given a voice in media.
True. But it just irritates me how they think that telling someone from a disadvantaged home that they shouldn’t work hard is helping them. Like telling fat people that obesity is healthy.
We're here to help you poor blacks who can't succeed without us superior white progressives.
Make a list, make sure you don't buy from any of them!
im not gonna make the effort to make a list of them. if they push them as fem owned, then i will avoid them. if they act like your average business who doesnt play the gender identity game, i will judge their products for what they are.
To add an anecdote:
I was at the bank the other day and they were playing adds for black business loans.
Not sure if it's some kind of mutual fund you can invest in or if we're just discriminating now.
You get one fucking swing at this. Make friends, build networks, formulate your own agendas. It's only going to get weirder.
If there's a sign listing it as a black-owned business, I just won't buy that product. Good of Target to let me know.
The ones in that group that it's condescending to are the ones who's work stands on their own. Because they get lumped in with or lose opportunities due to the low quality grifter nonsense.
Just look at the black month stuff they promote. As an example I looked at the page for it in Amazon's books sections. It's pretty much all political subversive garbage. The top heading is "Amplifying Black Voices." I noticed there's some comics too, appear to be about Jim Crow days. So am I to believe is that all black people can write? Can black people not write science fiction and fantasy or just classic style fun fictional books? I imagine those books exist. I might have even read one, because at no point do I go look up the race of an author. No one wants me to read those black books though.
Nowadays if you are touting the race and gender of an author that is a major red flag for me. And industries like comic books have made me less likely to give any female or minority writer a chance (after 2014) due to the fact that they only want rabid left wingers who don’t actually care about comic books, sci-fi, fantasy. So it probably would be hard for a female or minority who actually wants to write good stories to het hired by a major company.
A good black author I like is Walter Moseley. He has a good private eye series and has written some sci fi as well. But I’m like you. I don’t go looking for books with the race of the author in mind.
Sharpies. Just write "racist" anywhere "black" is written.
The point is to give (mostly white) women something to fetishize.
Sell me your best product features.
"It's made by someone with brownish skin!"
No, your best features. Like, what makes it better or more unique to the competition?
"Brown-skinned hands touched it at one point! Or at least, touched a machine that touched it!"
Is it more durable? More output per size? Cool tech integrations?
"Brown. Skin. Touched. It."
So... Your product has literally nothing of value to it.
"Brown! Skin! Touched! It!"
You sound like a fetishistic loony. I'mma go buy that product over there that says it's extra strong and has lime scent sourced from real limes. Really, people that would buy that product are on par with the losers who buy gamer girl bath water.
Amen. Honestly that would make for a great comedy skit to mock all this nonsense
I kind of like this, it helps me avoid giving my White dollars to niggers.
Well that’s one way of seeing it.
dont be a rude ass to other gg'ers, nigga
"Target"
there is your problem.
Dont buy from people who openly hate you.
Good point
because a lot of people have no shame and will do anything to get ahead.
It's wonderful, they're helping me avoid all the black/LGBT owned businesses.
None of them will get a dime from me even if it's the best thing since sliced bread.
Malcom X says he always hated white liberals the most, because at least the conservatives would call him nigger to his face.
Great quote. I love Frasier and Cheers.
Frasier 2020: Frasier is dating a black woman, Niles is still there, played by michael b jordan, but things arent totally bad. Frasier is cucked by his wifes boyfriend, and gets a limited edition switch xl, his dad took the vacc and is exibiting symptoms that the liberal doctors tell him is all in his head, frasier decides to start up a protest to stand up against misogyny in gaming. End scene 1.
(and the neoprogressiveness of his relationship is made into a centerpiece of the show)
