even talking about "carbon" is playing into their narrative since there still isn't any evidence that human carbon emission does a damn thing

There is some evidence that plants grow better with higher CO2 concentration.

some evidence

I think it's a bit more than 'some'. We've been pumping greenhouses full of CO2 for better growth for decades.

1600 ppm is a good number to use if all the other factors are maxed.

It's also quite telling when millions of years ago CO2 emissions were able to reach heights well above anything in today's era even when humans had no civilizations: https://www.urdupoint.com/en/world/earths-co2-levels-to-reach-pliocene-era-valu-970093.html

I guess it was those darn Trumpsters with their blasted time machines, taking carbon emissions back in time to the Pliocene era to raise the climate!

Even the word "carbon" is a cheap attempt to make CO2, a harmless, odorless trace gas, sound dirty and pollutive.

Also using "Carbon" as a shorthand for dirty and unwanted. Uh, so we're made of carbon? As is kinda everything else, so...

The environment is like anything else. If you fuck with it, it gets fucked with. But as far as the planet is concerned, a nuclear holocaust is a bad haircut for a few millenia

"But but China is doing so much for green energy" a lefty friend of mine who has learned his lesson recently, thanks for this link he will get this one as well.

Africa is going to catch up, too. Several African nations pretty much said: fuck your renewables, we're not going to cripple our economies for your climate goals, we're going to expand coal power.

It's pretty fucking ironic that the eco activism in the West is causing a rise in emissions everywhere else. No wait, the term I was looking for is "predictable".

And the US will get blamed for it for buying so many products made in China.

Someone I work with said as much. I replied "Do you think we should make China follow our much stricter environmental regulations?" I couldn't get a straight answer from them; they preferred to rant about how Americans consume too much instead.

The leftist argument that takes this tack is already disingenuous.

Who promotes globalism? Which companies outsourced to China 20 years ago? If the answer is the same giant multinational conglomerate who talk out of both sides of their mouth, congrats!

Since they are solely responsible for this situation, and these giant corporations are the same ones blaming whitey and the western world for all ills, while promoting green initiatives and making billions off the backs of slave labor, you would think they would either shut up about climate change since they're the ones apparently driving it or do something to fix it.

Nope! The dog and pony show dictates it's you evil whites in the Western world. Not the evil totalitarian regime we hand trillions over to, or us, the giant corporation that's doing this. Unplug your lights and stop driving! It's your fault, you bad person in the US. Now excuse me while I pay China to rip a mountain in half for lithium and dump the waste into the Yangtze River.

Well you ultimately have to look at the masters of these giant corporations, which are the hedge funds and investment banks.

I got told by some lib zombie that a Chinese or Indian person is less bad for the environment, so shut up. They all live very environmentally friendly lives as individuals, the countries just happen to be the most polluting. But that's not their fault, UWU.

I mean, on average...? Per Capita would divide their pollution by more than a billion in either case. That would be the steelman's version of their position. It's not even an argument in absolute terms, though.

Still, ideologues will huff lies, damn lies, and statistics to support their position.

I bet China doesn’t use the horrible paper or rubber straws.

My lord those are incredibly stupid, I’d rather drink out of an American 90s “silly straw”.

Every proposed policy about the “environment” I can think of blatantly ignore’s the Earth’s history of warming up and cooling down in cycles, and takes choices away from people.

But wait there's more! China promised not to create any more coal plants in the 3rd world while its under a coal shortage. I wonder why China would cut producing coal plants in the third world when China desperately needs coal to provide electricity to its people? Its almost as if it is self serving to stop producing competition for coal. But that's just a conspiracy theory, right? Fuck the CCP.

not least in the fact that the United States will attend the COP as a renewed signatory to the Paris Agreement.

Fact check: False. Entering into an international agreement requires congressional approval, not just the president saying "this sounds cool." The fact that the agreement had Obama and Biden saying "we want in" is just bullshit to start with.

Quick, let's sign a new Paris Climate Accord. If we give China money, maybe they'll be nice and not create new coal plants!!!

It's almost like it doesn't fucking matter how green we get if China and India don't play ball as well.

But don't worry. All those electric cars we will build, with their batteries containing strip mined elements, will totally solve global warming. And we totally have enough power to charge them all in our grid. We just have to rely on our renewable energy sources, which vary wildly in kw generated due to the environment. We definitely don't need that pesky efficient nuclear energy which would solve all our problems but actually requires effort.
