Interested in the yokotaro card based rpg. Worried about bayonetta overall the sex side seems toned down her outfits more modest her dancing is less stripper like and she doesn’t lose her clothes while summoning.

Interested in the yokotaro card based rpg.

I'm a bit concerned about how we're going from announce to release in less than two months. It's not that I care for long drawn-out marketing times for games but more that it seems unusual for Squeenix.

Its a card battle game, it doesn't need nearly the time investment as a major title. It probably only began production less than a year ago.

And despite Automata's success Yoko Taro is still a B lister at best and not going to receive the red carpet treatment.

Maybe. Unlikely but maybe they are trying a new marketing technique trying to capitalize on immediate hype instead of hyping something for years. Keep expectations more realistic but get a good bit of buzz around release.

Triangle Strategy looks dope.

Shame about the name. It sounds like a Game Jam game or a proof-of-concept. Also, hearing that they added basic gameplay features after demo feedback is worrisome. Cautiously optimistic.

I really liked Rune Factory 4. I think 5 is being developed by another studio so I'll wait for more info.

I saw a bit of Japanese gameplay. The graphics look great, but it has changed to third-person 3D. So you may have to get used to slightly different combat mechanics.

Triangle Strategy sounds like the name of the developer not the game.

I played the JP version of RF5 and unfortunately it's worse than RF4. You can literaly beat the entire story in less than 2 ingame months because of how insanely easy it is. lol

I guess we're back to 3 and maybe Oceans/Tides. Not that being easy or short (in both real time and game days) is a problem in and of itself.

I'm still on the first arc of 4 as of the last time I played it because I wasn't expecting the difficulty to ramp up the way it does. I can speed through Amber and Dylas on a fresh file, but after Dolce the monsters really start to bulk up and I find myself needing to take things at a slower pace than I was anticipating. It's quite interesting, really.

I'm still the same way with Frontier, I think the last time I was playing it I only just finally progressed to somewhere around Iris Noire... And then I think I stopped because this was the playthrough where I didn't stuff Blanc full of tomato juice beforehand and wanted to go back/delay it just to see what happens if you do. I'm very weird like that.

Metroid Dread looks dope.

Hard disagree.

AM2R was the last Metroid game worth playing and Metroid Dread does not look like it's going to change that.

I enjoyed rune factory 4 but i dont think i'll get rune factory 5, the english localization team XSEED pushed to add gay marriage in the game that wasn't in the original release, . . Normally i wouldn't care if the choice was just incidental , but the fact that some woketards pushed for it and was successful , makes me not want to buy it. Japanese Twitter is pretty angry about the changes too that was done to pander to woketards and was pushed by woketards in the west and is messing with the characters and literally rewriting who the characters are and also changing the JP version

I keep praying for America, it seems like that country's main goal right now is to ruin the entire world with its insanity.

The JP devs are partly to blame for listening and even changing the JP version. But shit always seems to start with america who then like to push shit on to the rest of the world.

On Splatoon, would you say it was worth it with the Octo Expansion? Because I bought it used on Ebay for like 20 I think so I definitely feel like I got my money's worth.

Rune Factory 5 was released as a buggy mess for Japan. I don't know if they ever fixed those things.

Rune Factory 5 has been completely pozzed. XSeed (the localizing Californian side of Marvelous), demanded the devs put gay marriage in their game, despite the original having established relationships already.

Nobody except the woke are happy, because instead of fixing bugs or the frame-rate issues (game regularly runs at 15 fps), Marvelous (the Japanese) opted to give into its woke counterpart instead. Both the JP & the international versions are going to have this change forced upon them.

Marvelous is another company I have to add to my blacklist now, unfortunately.

Trying to decide if I'd like Shin Megami Tensei V if I ended up getting bored with Persona 5. It's mainly all the dreary social life stuff and the calendar I get tired of. I'll probably try the SMT 3 remaster first though, especially since I don't currently have a Switch.

Then SMT is probably up your alley because its literally the same battle system (roughly) in a regular JRPG instead of a social sim.

If you liked JRPGs from the PS2 era, SMT3 is basically that in almost all senses. The battle system and difficulty are the only unique things about it (this isn't a bad thing).

Cool, I will probably start with checking out SMT3 sometime. I'm a lot newer to JRPGs so PS2 era I haven't done a ton. I don't mind difficulty either if it's a turn-based game.

This isn't difficulty. Its SMT difficulty. There is a reason why its famous, its a step above the norm and requires a lot of calculated strategy and failure. Bosses that require specific party members that were made from fusing two specific other minions that had been grinded to get certain abilities before the fusion so the result can properly do what's needed. Things like that.

This is important to know just because its basically the wall that turns off new players and kept the series super niche. Persona 3 was like that and that's why it was a masterpeice of both worlds.

Then Persona 4 nerfed the game into the ground so the casuals can play and now its more popular than the games it spunoff from.

Sounds fun really. Presuming the grinding is at least somewhat enjoyable. Particularly if the difficulty is not cheap RNG tricks or based. If I have to take notes and do some trial and error to learn stats/abilities that's perfectly fine. Most games don't make you think much. You actually have gotten me more interested if the point is I have to figure out stats and strategies.

That's part of what got me bored with Persona 5 is I've done at least 2/3rds of the palaces and even the part which I enjoyed (the palaces themselves) failure just wasn't a thing. Maybe once on each boss. I think there's one I died twice on. I pretty much never say a game is too easy. I'm not a masochist in the slightest context, but Persona 5 is too easy.

Presuming the grinding is at least somewhat enjoyable. Particularly if the difficulty is not cheap RNG tricks or based.

Its a PS2 game so the grinding is monotonous and goes on too long, I won't lie to you. If you fight every single enemy you come across, you'll still be 3-6 levels too low for some bosses, meaning you might need a few hours of raw grind.

And SMT is based heavily around the Press Turn/Smirk/whichever system. As in, crits, dodges, and weakness hits grant EXTRA turns. Which means RNG is more of a factor in it than almost any other game you've ever played. For you and your opponent. Matador is a meme famous boss from SMT3 because the first thing he does is maximize his dodge and crit chance, and then just takes 4+ turns for every round you get because you miss every shot and then he crits you.

You can strategize and minimize until these things aren't dealbreaking, but its still a game with a big element of chance even with perfect play. Arguably, perfect play is more about countering and minimizing possible catastrophes than just being stronger.

Persona 5 is too easy.

P5 is a joke if you have any competence. That's why despite it being over a decade old and lacking in a lot of QoL I still tell people to play P3 (FES, not Portable). Because that game has all the same systems, but also even on Normal will wreck your shit constantly.

Aspyr is porting Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 1 on 11 November.

The real heroes, if this is actually a straight port. The new one on Next gen is going to be a Woke rewrite.
