All of us are faced with it.
If you've done it and are happy, say so. If you are planning to do but haven't had the opportunity yet, speak up and share your views.
If you have not, won't, and plan never to get it, also share your thoughts.
.................
I've glanced at several articles (sadly can't remember where) about an Israeli developed nasal spray that seems almost acceptable.
I have not and will not. If it's mandated by my job, I'll quit.
Edit: I don't like coercion and I don't like the lack of liabilities for vaccine makers that are expediting the process, meaning bypassing standard testing cycles.
If you make them fire you there's potential for an unlawful termination suit. May not be successful, but sabre-ratting may yield positive results for you.
Good point. I won't quit in that case, I'll make them fire me and then consider my options.
Even if that isn't realistic, at the very least it might net me some severance pay, and I wouldn't plan to go back anyway.
Hell if nothing else it's going to take time for them to get the termination paperwork through. Maybe you'll get an extra paycheck or two that you wouldn't get if you just quit on the spot.
No.
If everyone who wants you dead is telling you that something is good for you, odds are it isnt.
On another note, if me being unvaccinated causes another's death, why the fuck should I care. I remember wearing a gas mask to uni in Feb and everyone treated me like I was the crazy one, now they're the ones chastising people for not wearing a mask. Dog eat dog world.
You were the crazy one though...think about it, it's not mutually exclusive.
At the time, there wasn't really enough information coming through and it was at the height of chinese fear porn with people collapsing in public.
My university has a large amount of Chinese international students, I wouldn't say it would be irrational to wear one, but I can see why you could see it as overly paranoid at the time.
I don't intend to. I have always favoured strong border controls as the best way of protecting us from China's pandemic. We didn't need a vaccine to eradicate SARS the first time, and I am suspicious when the people stoking the flames are the same ones demanding more invasive solutions.
I trust my immune system more than I trust everything that's been done in the name of combating the virus up to this point. The vaccine is to be afforded the same trust as the politicians who've been fucking everything up in the name of public health.
I will not.
I don't get flu shots either. I do get tetanus shots.
I do not think that immunization against respiratory viruses is an efficient use of resources. They mutate often and typically (though not always) target the oldest and weakest.
I plan to get my mom, grandma and my parents in law vaccinated but I'm going to wait for myself and my wife and my kids may never get vaccinated. I'm still talking about it with my wife. I would be very happy if we got the virus and be done with it. We are in no risk group so I do not see why I would have to get it.
Totally fair enough.
Not at risk, and the incompetent government has no intention to quarantine travelers that will eventually introduce strains that will escape protection. So no.
People at risk can make their own decision to get the no-doubt frequent booster shots and new strains shots.
Seems like keeping borders open is top priority, well above fundamental liberties such as seeing your own family and friends, or operating your buisness. ( At the top of the arguments against lifting restrictions is "The Variants", so it's never gonna end in my nation with current "strategy". )
If there was a actual erradication plan, maby. Not a "the government pinky swore it will work" plan, but one that actually has a chance to work ( borders shut, forceful quarantines, with staff that stays at the facility. Taiwan had a dozen new local cases over the last days because ONE doctor got infected treating patients and merrily spread it all over the place. ).
Anyway : Much more likely is that this CoV-SARS-2019 is a successful new endemic commom cold, and as children grow exposed to it again and again, as adults and elders later, it won't be worse than other colds. Thanks China.
Nope. And the great thing about living and working in a rural area is that we all more or less said the same thing: I don't trust it. My boss said it, coworkers said it, family has said it. I think there's one woman who will take it but she's neurotic and fortunately understands why we likely won't.
Currently I have not taken it & even reading reports From a politically neutral source of someone who’s as pro vax as it gets they stated that Pfizer can’t deny if sterilization is a side effect I’m leaning with a hard no & maybe if it’s fixed it’s a 50/50 shot as I don’t get the Flu. Work doesn’t require it & even if they did my cucked blue state doesn’t have enough for the 1st round...
I have a friend who got it because he works with autistic kids & while I get it. I don’t trust the risk but he’s pretty normie so you can’t fix that to a degree...
I’m going to wait as long as I can to see if any side effects pop up. Not an anti vaxer, but I would hate to get a long term side effect to possibly prevent myself from contracting an ailment that I currently have a high likelihood of surviving
The day when some med school dropout sticks me with their vaccine for a disease that I'm at 0% risk of dying from it will be into an arm that proudly displays a middle finger, as it lays attached to my cold dead body.
Hell no.
No.
Now if Biden goes total fascist I may be forced to - but I will drag my heels until the last possible moment.
At the very least I’m letting other beta test this thing and I’ll wait for version 3.0
Only if I can avoid AstraZeneca poison.
I trust that anything from Trump's Operation Warp Speed wasn't designed to kill us.
Sputnik V has seen some international upvotes?
There is no one on the planet who isn't faced with the vax confrontation.
I'll avoid it as long as I can, don't particularly want what the likes of the NYT and The Guardian, among other male genocide propagandists, recommend.
Not going to go out of my way to get it; my husband and I are older, but not that old, and white, so we're probably pretty low on the priority list. However, the nature of his job suggests they'll get around to him eventually, and requirements like that tend to rub off on the peripherals.
But at least by that time, we'll have had time to see what it does to everyone else.
As a side note, I was amused at how, at first, the WHO was begging Canada for "extra" doses for the poor countries before anyone was given any. Trudeau said "hell no", and now the WHO is saying we're robbing those countries somehow. Fuck the WHO. I bet they just had tea with the head of the lab, and took just took its word for "we no release virus, we no have corrupt workers who sell bat to wet market next door for extra yen, no no."
And yeah, here's hoping it IS a birth control shot for the po' countries, though that doesn't make sense to me when the corporations want more nad more profit, and for that they need more and more humans (which is why they fell over themselves to suck chinese and india dick and "open their countries" in the first place. There simply are no more new markets to open, unless you're talking about selling to aliens or animals. So they preach birth control, but only to whites. Of course, that's dumb too, because only whites really play the "measure of a man is how many toys he dies with" game, where the others are still playing the "how many babies did you spit out" game.)
I don't intend to, but that's mostly because I don't trust anyone telling me I need to do something, let alone the government.
Fuck no. I'll quit my job and go live in the woods before I take that shit.
I probably will, my entire family too. I am actually more against it than them but my entire family is freaked to hell by the virus. They're in a higher risk group (old) and overweight but most of all they're a mix of boomercons and npr liberals who fell for the news' lies. Even when pointing out the. 1% death rates, the issues with a vaccine that was rushed like this they'll still take it.
I need to sit down and find articles that show why I don't want to get the vaccine and why they may want to wait but I'm in law school and I really don't have the time to sit down and compile articles.
If I take it it'd be more for them than anything because I'm still in my 20s and not obese so I'm not at risk of dying (not that I've been going anywhere I could catch it anyway)
I don't intend to take it. Is that a hill I'll die on? Probably not. I'd be more likely to pass on it out of defiance of places wanting to see my "vaccine passport" than out of being afraid of the vaccine being dangerous. Although I do have concerns with it being so rushed. I've already had Covid itself too, and a lot of the side effects of the vaccine I've heard about sound worse than my experience with Covid itself. I wasn't an asymptomatic test case either--I actually got sick.
Second to that, I expect them to start pushing it as yet another annual vaccine you're supposed to get. You know they will guess it's mutations and push the Covid shot on you. I've never gotten a Flu shot and never felt like I should have. If I've ever gotten the flu in all those years it was a pussy disease and never even warranted a doctor visit. I just think those annual vaccines are a lot more cash grab than valuable medicine.
Well, that's the thing, the flu doesn't normally require a doctor's visit in the first place. What fuels the ER overcrowding is mostly the "karens" and hypochondriacs who think that every little thing wrong needs a doctor, and pills, new parents who think every sniffle in the baby needs a doctor, and people who are just looking for attention, or pills.
Flu shots are mostly for people who can't afford to get hit with sick days, or for whom the flu might actually be dangerous. A healthy person doesn't really need them every year.
I know plenty of these people too. Rush to the doctor for every little thing. There's too many people in my family who think they are doctors from the internet too. When the WuFlu went through the family, they were all telling me "you need to take some medicine to get rid of your fever" things like that. I said, nope I'm going to sit here miserable and watch TV and play video games. Guess who got over it the easiest?
I go to the doctor for regular physical checkups and think that's a good idea but outside of something egregious I don't bother. We have an immune system for a reason. Don't think I won't be giving my medication and hand sanitizer family members shit either, since you know my immune system beat the shit out of Covid and theirs didn't fare nearly as well.
Got a fever of 104°? Yeah, get something for that, that's a severe fever. 100°? You're gonna feel pretty shitty but the doctor will just tell you to rest. Might as well save the effort and just lay on the couch with a blanket on.
I'm not planning on it. I'm actually at risk for it, too.
I don't have any reasoning more legitimate than belligerency. If I'm the one that's wrong, I'll die - I'm prepared for that. It's my choice no matter how I'm coerced. If I spread it to others, I refuse responsibility for their health or other decisions; to accept responsibility would be to deny the agency of my fellow man.
I'm making slow preparations for being banned from shops and hospitals for my decision. Too slow, honestly.
I'm getting it this week due to my job requiring I get shot up ASAP. I was originally planning to wait as long as possible before getting it and hoping that by that time, more would be known about possible side effects, a different type of vaccine would potentially become available, or people would stop caring and I wouldn't be badgered to get it (insanely optimistic, I know). At this point, I've mostly resigned myself since worrying won't change anything.
I've heard more than a few anecdotes of how the second dose makes you feel like shit. Guess I'll find out first hand in a month.
I got the Pfizer as a class 1A, had absolutely no side effects, but this was the mRNA batch that is completely new in practice. So in reality it could have done jack shit or just be a defense booster like the way they are treating it now.
I will have documentation saying I have taken it. We will leave it at that.
Won't be getting it, my mother won't be getting it either for a multitude of reasons but it's simpler to say that I'm just not willing to be Bill Gates' guinea-pig. I never get flu shots either, and since all this COVID shit I'm leaning toward it being a bad idea to vaccinate infants under 6 months old. I didn't know we started vaccinating them as soon as they were born, wtf.
I have not and I will not.
I'm not anti-vax.
I'm anti this particular rushed and experimental vaccine that literally alters the genetic coding of your cells.
(If they offered me the Russian vaccine, made with traditional time tested method, I might consider that one.)
Particularly since they want me to take it so badly for clearly false reasons.
And they've been so consistently dishonest about this disease and its treatments.
I don't take strange medicines from people who've spent over a year lying to my face.
Yeah.... no.
My understanding is it's not even a vaccine in the tradition sense; it's an RNA vaccine that programs our cells to fight a virus, so I'm already wary.
Plus, the fact that the manufacturers are protected from legal recourse tells me they know something's up with what they're offering.
I'm fine with the vapid horde lapping that shit up, and all the unforeseen side effects that come with it.
Nope, I won't take it. The whole thing is bullshit, and an untested vaccine poses more danger to me than the flu it's intended to treat. So, hard pass for me.
how about fuck no with that noise the phizer varrient is already killing folks
Yes, Mr FBI-man, of course I'll be taking the vaccine. No need to worry, I'm just waiting for it to become fully available to my group, then I will absolutely get it.
