They’ve tried to get the Ultra Orthodox community to work with conscription and the draft, but the UO’s don’t want to and could collapse the governing coalition if necessary, which means Netanyahu probably goes to prison for corruption or whatever it is he’s on trial for. The operation to fully control Gaza is going to be very manpower intensive and more bodies need to be sent into the territory than the IDF can deploy.
