Don’t worry there’s losers in the thread claiming that new comics are flourishing because the new Martian Manhunter comic got 120k in preorders. That’s only 1/28th of the top selling manga this season…
To be fair, he's sort of a character who normies wouldn't know. Unless they watched the show from the 2000s as kids. But I guarantee a manga about Frierens random friend or something would sell twice that.
But B-rank comics of side characters sold 40K back in the 50's and 60's... most modern comics are far below that number, last I checked. (It was Tubby, a side character of Little Lulu)
I'm pretty sure this is paid botting by some kind of marketing firm tied to James Gunn. I've been seeing a lot of suspicious posts on the timeline. Got to have something to show the execs when your movie most likely didn't break even.
Personally I kind of think it's a funny scene... but is it better as a skit or something in a real movie? Don't really know.
Yeah. He's one of those Hollywood people that seems to have an advanced social media presence, like how Taiki Waititi's name was all over the internet for years
Reminder Tom King is a literal jooish ex-glowie and he's responsible for turning lots of DC b and c listers into alcoholics/retards/depressed sobs, etc.
This Supergirl is based on King's Woman of Tomorrow, Gunn has also expressed King is one of the "architects" of his new DCU
Because perverting subverting her innocent bubbliness as being an alcoholic is like, so deep man. At least when Sneeder made edgy versions of DC characters, it was because of misguided admiration. King just does it because the media deepthroats him
Its a movie using a character people don't care about much anymore, from another DCEU reboot at the bottom of anyone caring about capeshit, a month removed from its release, constantly posting clips about "look what other character is in the movie!!" with their actor and the movie name attached.
Its absolutely a marketing campaign trying to shill up hype for a movie that came and went without a peep of care.
Pretty sure it's the actress who plays the adult version of the same character that you're thinking of. This chick played her, then there was a time jump and they got a new actress to play her and she's non binary I think
And making her an alcoholic was a stupid decision. She’s already going to be different from Superman due to not being raised on Earth, they didn’t need to make her something else too.
Krypto is one of those things that keeps Superman from being anything but a joke, and this scene alone shows why. Even with a ridiculous budget, it looks ridiculous and undermines whoever is on the receiving end of him (because we know the precious doggo won't get seriously violently hurt in any fight).
He is a fine character in a comedic work or spinoff version, DC is riddled with those and they have their place. But the fact that Gunn chose to use him from the very first trailer tells me how little I'd care about this movie.
This feels kinda stupid to me. How does this even work? Does she carry kyrptonite in order to get drunk? Does Kryptonian hair get dyed by bleach? Would bleach be Supermans new weakness then?

American comics are basically dead, which is a shame because some of the stuff outside of the super hero genre is actually still good.

That’s the top selling one recently though, that was their big argument
120K is a STAGGERING number! 😲

Probably the same PR group that dug him out of the whole diaper party pedophilia thing.

I thought this was going to be a tranny.
She's cute imo, in a fun thot kind of way
It's just a joke about her name.
Lol I know. It is a pretty trannyish name, just behind Sophie Wisteria or Lilith Sparkles
Or Brianna Wu
Doesn't she claim to be non-binary, pretty much a tranny
This is the first time I've heard of her.
I only heard of her from House of the Dragon

That's correct, Emma D'Arcy is the theythem actress who plays adult Rhaenyra. Milly Alcock played teenage Rhaenyra.
I didn't consult Google before stating that so I'll say you are right
She's always been a belligerent teenager but I think the alcoholism is recent
And making her an alcoholic was a stupid decision. She’s already going to be different from Superman due to not being raised on Earth, they didn’t need to make her something else too.

That supergirl is based on the Tom King graphic novel. I watched the CW show but gave up in second season
I thought the Japs were just drawing her like a gyaru, but I didn't know the black undyed hair was real.

Honestly thought it was one of the cringiest scenes of the movie and wish it wasn't even in there.
So Superman is just Shazam with a jelly roll?
