The visual effects for LOTR were made on Win98 and used simulated actors for the VFX effects for Helm's Deep and Minas Tirith.
God I remember playing through Lunar: The Silver Star, a game from 1987. That was complained to have had a bad translation at the time.
Chrono Trigger had the Frog character speak shakesperian. And Breath of Fire II's translation is infinity bad.
Localization has never "been good". There's the acceptable translation like the Majikoi fan translation that keep alot of the original humor in, the Steins Gate translations that get all the various sci-fi references or Lobotomy Corp where the entire script was put through an SK to English MTL program and all of those are STILL more accurate that some localizer who hates the product inserting dated pop culture references and current day Id-Pol that will get removed in 20 years.
Why can't these people just translate a game 1:1? It's not that hard.
It's puritans moral-fagging about the supposed ages of fictional characters. They can't differentiate between what's drawn and what's real and they get their britches in a twist when something like this happens. God forbid a coomer make a mod for a busty JK when they're okay with unmodded bear sex.
It's so tiresome trying to discuss anything with these people.
Evangelion. All of it. It's so pretentious.
Otherwise, Sunohara going down the dustshoot. The cut to the outshot is perfect.
Fleek is pretty good. He became big during the Saints Row reboot disaster and speaks alot of truth about current gaming. Budget Cuts and all that.
No Jews in Star Trek.
Nemoy wrote in his 1975 Biography that the hand sign was inspired by this other hand sign that a Rabbi does to bless people
In his 1975 autobiography I Am Not Spock, Nimoy, who was Jewish, wrote that he based it on the Priestly Blessing performed by Jewish Kohanim with both hands, thumb to thumb in this same position, representing the Hebrew letter Shin (ש in Square Script, or Paleo Hebrew 𐤔), which has three upward strokes similar to the position of the thumb and fingers in the gesture. The letter Shin here stands for El Shaddai, meaning "Almighty (God)", as well as for Shekhinah and Shalom. Nimoy wrote that when he was a child, his grandfather took him to an Orthodox synagogue, where he saw the blessing performed and was impressed by it.
Average Redditor moment.
Imgchest
A good site to upload too, like old imgur before it became political.
Bleach is mostly water, we're mostly water, therefore we are bleach and you should drink it.
I hate false equivalences like this. They're so easy to disprove and offer no logical argument.
You reminded me of this segment here, it doesn't go over the start because the Israelis are secretive about their nuclear program but sometime in 1967 with French assistance they built a reactor in the Negev desert where they refined their first isotopes.
Lost Odyssey. A JRPG made by Mistwalker, vets from Final Fantasy trapped on the X360 of all consoles. It emulates in Xenia almost perfectly but the stuttering in gameplay and sound is noticeable. One day I'll be able to replay it.
I played that about a year ago with the PC copy. It kinda works but is a little finicky to get working on a modern system. Grinding up airstrikes is kinda time consuming but between calling in a dumb bomb or wasting RPG rounds to take out a pill box? Oh yeah, calling in fire support never gets old.
This is from the 1996 games, Drowned God. It's a weird point and click where the writer died in a murder-suicide.
Look, to make youtube functional, you need certain add ons.
Ublock Origin for ad block
Clickbait remover gets rid of arrowed thumbnails and RANDOM capitalised words like that.
Return Dislike because of course YT removed it.
Sponsor block skips segments in videos where people shill ads. Don't let them waste your time.
Enchancer for Youtube is out of date due to YT changing the site so much but it still has a bunch of basic features like double speed playback
But you want either Blocktube or Channel Blocker for YT. I hate those annoying Gamespot "expert rates firearms in videogames" vids because they always get traction. Just block the channel and bam, all gone.
But Anime and Dinosaurs. She passed on a passionate autist.
If I had to say I think it would be two things. First being the negligence of oversight with productions. Amazon is hands off/doesn't care or does care when it comes to spreading a certain message that they allow in their creations. If someone inserts political messages in with Rings of Power for example, that gets a pass because it's something Amazon wants to promote.
That comes back to the 2nd thing where you have a production crew that's not politicized and makes a good product like Reacher, Amazon will still push that out because it's something that people will actually want, a.k.a, what they should be making.
It seems to me like they want to push both markets. This is just like the Roald Dahl rewrite campaign that Penguin did with his books. Say you're going to plagiarize it, release that, ignore backlash, sell compendium of completed works unaltered. Companies know how to market to both sides of the culture war. Rings of Power was promoted as being diverse Tolkien, Reacher is spread via word of mouth because it's unpoliticised.
For 40k I think it'll be good. Cavil has had two times now with Superman and Witcher being at the mercy of people who gave him bad scripts. If he gets that producer role, he has that power to push out bad influence and be true to canon. The question then becomes what does he adapt?
It's gotta be about the Journey for me. Have a central ship and a core cast of characters and go from A to B, essentially what Yamato or Bebop is. You can do so much with a journey type story. Encountering phenomena, factions, technical problems, crew issues, firing really big kinetic guns in space.
Otherwise some of my favorite stories are the archeological side ones from Stellaris. There was a mod I used last playthrough that added a bunch and one that stood out was there were 3 archeological sites in a single system. First one belonged to a fleet based raider civ that suddenly became aware of the damage they were doing, then turned inward and destroyed themselves. The second belonged to a coalition of alien races opposing the raiders but who's political leadership had been making strange decisions in the later course of the war. The coalition eventually fell to infighting and the end of the chain was the leaders being long dead, killed in one of the first strikes by the raiders. The third was of one of the coalition races, they were the weakest of the group suddenly coming to prominence because they survived the infighting. The strange thing is that there's little mention of them, it's recorded that they survived but then it just stops. It does mention that they were Psionic however. This opens up a forth site and you learn why. It turns out that the system was inhabited by a Memetic being, able to sway an entire populace that learns of it's existence. It taught the radiers about guilt, made deliberate mistakes in the war to result in infighting and then tried to hop into the collective consciousness of a psychic race before they all committed mass suicide to try and stop it.
Considering I usually go Psionic Ascension, this left me with two choices. Change the civ to a collective hive mind as it takes over my Chosen One Emperor or lose the scientist because they self terminated before it could infect the galaxy-spanning psionic network. I chose the second.
Yeah, I know, the CP. He actually printed out the pictures by hacking into the Mindjot protected server. Brixley served as middle man and when they discovered the streamer had been arrested tried moving the server from Mindjot but were too late as the SWAT team had arrived. There's a laptop in the Mindjot conference room and mentioned in the briefing of Talent Time that the streamer was convicted of CP.
That is true. It's the 2nd mission called 23 megabytes and while it starts off as a swatting, the brother is a furry with that costume and the actual streamer has access to a data center that scams people out of bitcoin with shit coins. This mission leads to the Talent Time two missions later which then leads to Valley of Dolls.
Side note, if you're going to play, get the mod called No Crack. This slows the reaction time of enemy AI to be human like in that it gives you a time to react instead of aimbotting. It also fixes morale/stress options that the devs have overlooked.
If you want a weird film, "Mad Gods" will scar you.
This is from Assassin's Creed odyssey and apparently it opens every-time you use the world map.
Matt Rife Domestic Violence Joke Controversy refers to backlash over a joke told by American comedian Matt Rife in his November 2023 Netflix special Natural Selection that many perceived as making fun of domestic violence, centering on a waitress with a black eye
"Matt Rife opens his special with a 'if a woman could cook she wouldn’t have a black eye'
he was "testing the waters" to see if the audience was "fun or not."
he linked to a fake apology that sent users to a webpage to purchase helmets for special needs children.
EDF does have some grind. But you can use an unlocker, get all the weapons, put the armor up somewhere high and play on Nightmare. As for other games. I know Dynasty Warriors 8 is pretty fun. Has some grinding with per character but you can use 4 or 5 on a select mission to learn their styles and it's pretty fun. The One Piece games look like they can grind and the Dream log does provide that but you can also play it straight. Valkyria Chronicles has a bit but I enjoy the gameplay of 4 too much for it to bother me. The DLC missions can be a bit of a grind. The Yakuza games have some grind to them, the side activites with the club and real-estate in 0 for instance.
Ah, there are some visual novel games, Ace Attorney, Danganronpa, those wouldn't have grinding. if you grab a DS emulator you could play something like Hotel Dusk: Room 215 and other detective games like that.
I think that's it. Try and go for action orientated game or ones that can use VN segments, those might not be as grind heavy as others.
The most sad thing is this was in 2005 or so. Drake was an extra on the Amanda show that Dan had picked up to make Drake and Josh with. Brian wormed his way into the relationship between Drake and his father, then abused and got arrested for it. All this was before Drake and Josh went on the air. Drake had to reshoot the pilot cause he wasn't dealing with it well.
Can find the 4 eps here or your nearest torrent tracker.
