-They're opening breaking tradition and decorum and waging in lawfare to further their aims. They got their conviction, but soon when it's overturned they'll be opening themselves up to libel/slander to say he's a 'convicted felon.'

-There are no young faces that strike any sort of fear into my heart. Hakeem Jeffries? AOC? Any of the fresh fit-for-HR faces that keep filling low-level Dem seats? L.O.L. Feinstein died clinging to her seat and Pelosi will too because there's no one else and they're addicted to their corrupt power. Just today I saw an article about how Bob Melendez is running as an Independent. It's comical at this point how desperate he is to cling to power, futile as it is.

-They're not even attempting to offer flimsy explanations for their stupid policies anymore. They're just doing the stupid shit in our faces at an accelerated pace and barely paying attention to the media narrative. The normies are seeing it at this point, too.

I don't think it's fair to compare unions in Europe to unions in the US. I don't know enough about unions in Europe, but I've heard they do actually still serve some valuable functions.

In the US they are completely aimless. Every union I can think of is a waste of time or a net negative -- the Teacher's Union is a significant contributor to the horrible state of education in America, for instance. The last union I was forced to join spent all of their resources helping shitty employees keep their jobs -- when I brought I legitimate complaint to the union (I was denied leave), the union rep told me 'I hope you don't think it's my job to listen to you complain.'

(I did the legwork and got my boss to say "if the union says you can have that leave, you can have that leave' and then the union said no. Fuck unions in the US. They serve to create acrimonious relationships between employers and employees and have the primary effect of protecting bad employees.)

There are multiple factors at play here.

Yes, freed slaves started at an enormous disadvantage. This disadvantage was further stretched out by actual systemic racism throughout the US Southeast (I highlight this because they claim the US today is no better than Jim Crow, which is factually absurd).

If you look at demographic statistics, US Blacks were actually close to finally catching up with whites in the 60s. This helps put MLK Jr's speech in context -- blacks had, for the most part, arrived in American society and demanded to be treated as such.

Then came feminism. And the Civil Rights Act. And Welfare. And then no-fault divorce. And the skyrocketing single parent rate (which is really the root of all this). And now yadda yadda yadda we are where we are.

Blacks did get shafted, but not by whites. They got shafted by the powers that be in Washington determined to keep them in the underclass of society.

To the overall point -- I just believe blacks are better than this. It's easy to say "this is just who they are, and this is who they are throughout history and in every other place they've ever been." -- from a certain perspective, this isn't a horrible take, and I can respect that (even if I disagree with it).

But nothing ever gets better unless personal responsibility comes into play. Regardless of the reason(s), blacks are where they are right now. And there's no magical solution that fixes it. Conditions can (and really ought to) get better, but it's still incumbent on them to climb out of that hole.

Every other country in the world enforces their borders more tightly than ours. I actually went through the process of applying for and renewing a visa to live abroad, and I fully expected to be deported (or, at best, lose my job) if I stopped following the law.

I understand with the way courts and laws work that is has to be done this way, but it is beyond frustrating when the underlying issue is the Federal Government actively aiding and abetting our enemies. There isn't a great remedy because that is a somewhat subjective opinion (the government can say it is trying and failing, which is not technically illegal).
