The tranny wasn't even what bothered me. I could just tell that was them trying to get what was hip with the kids at the moment. It was seeing that interview with the marketing moron who showed complete contempt for the customers that made me happy with the boycott (I don't participate; I never drank that shit in the first place).
I had the displeasure of hearing colleagues discuss the Barbie movie today. Apparently, there's a montage about the patriarchy that perfectly captures what it is like to be a woman in modern society. Also, it's stupid for anyone to say the movie is indoctrinating women to hate men. They earn their hate just fine without it. Also, anybody who would argue these points is a dumb Retrumpican. I hate this job.
Depressing but true. States are very insistent that you’re supposed to rely on the (non-existent) police for protection and are not permitted to do anything to protect your goods/livelihood. You can use force ONLY when in danger and ONLY to the extent necessary to protect yourself. It’s nice knowing the deck is stacked against the law abiding citizens. Or was that the point?
I recall dropping out of this on episode 1. There was a discussion about fucking goats? And the attempts at “mature” vulgarity were familiar. Then I checked and saw it was written by Warren Ellis and gave up. Transmetropolitan is high art to an edgy 13 year old. It’s crazy this guy hasn’t found a new shtick since then.
I assume a part of this process includes that fessing to the crimes can't be used against you later (like if the plea bargain fails)? Because otherwise, that seems like a shitty process. They can just get you to say what you're guilty of, renege on the negotiation, and then use the confession as evidence.
The only good cop is a dead cop.
