Its an ancient one from the days when people thought we could win this battle with reasoning the normies, and most of our "side" was made up of "one of the good one Lefties" who constantly crowed that those guys were just extremists and not true Liberals.
So, it was a Lefty meme from the Lefties who used to be among us before they chose to abandon their principles because mean tweets gave them cognitive dissonance.
I have long since abandoned the notion that people are rational creatures who make decisions based on information. Information can be useful, but it's not how this battle is fought. Anyone who was on the left and could be swayed by information followed the same path I took and is now a far right extremist who wants heads on pikes as a reasonable response to our current predicament.
More like before they couldn't continue pretending to have principles. Leftoids have no morals or principles. They will do or say whatever they think will benefit them or harm whoever they think is their enemy. "No bad tactics, only bad targets" is how they live.
I think they did have some principles, else they wouldn't have chosen to break rank to begin with. They just chose their tribe before their principles when it became obvious that the Left wasn't going to change for them.
There was a reason why they championed the "not real Liberals" line so much. Because they hadn't realized that "Liberals" were dead and devoured by the Left and had long since moved on from what they thought it stood for.
So they stood at a crossroads of joining the Woke or having to admit to having been wrong previously and join the Right they spent their whole life demonizing. And Pride won out as always.
