It’s still a front page r/popular sub. Even if the disinterested masses don’t take the time to actually read the article/comments, millions of those people scroll past it, see the ridiculous headline, and have the narrative colored by it.
Blasting the world with endless propaganda has an effect.
Why? The left has near total domain over how our children are educated. Once they are out of school, they have near total control over how they are propagandized.
If people don't take an extremely active role in their children's upbringing - in particular, in pointing out the left's indoctrination, and propaganda - those children will naturally end up with leftist views on the world.
They do it because it works.

People who are already hardcore in either the left or right camps aren't going to be swayed to change their vote no matter what. Thus, the only votes that are up for grabs are the largely disinterested masses in the middle.
The people in the middle aren't the sorts of people that are going to sit down and watch a debate, much less the Vice Presidential debate. They aren't the sorts of people that are going to go investigate what actually happened. All they are going to hear about this is what they might bumble into in a 10 second clip from the media, what they might happen upon in some front page reddit sub, etc. When that happens, who is going to be the one that was in charge of writing that narrative, and what will it be?
Oh, stuff like this:

The point is the same as always. The right has almost zero power to reach anyone not already on the right. The left has near total control over what the idiotic/disinterested masses in the middle stumble into during the business of going about their day. Thus - once again, the same as always - the left does whatever it wants to generate something - anything - that allows them to spin up a bunch of clips, articles, whatever that they can blast the public with, and hopefully set the narrative, and what is the narrative that these people will happen upon? "JD Vance was upset that he lied, and they wouldn't let him get away with it!!!"
It doesn't matter if Vance was right. It doesn't matter that the leftist moderators broke the rules they agreed to. None of the people in the middle (or, more accurately, I guess, - a far greater portion of the people in the middle) are going to hear that. They're only going to hear how the left spun it. That's why they do it. The left has the ability to have a constant dark cloud hanging over anyone not in their camp.

- Does anyone really believe this dumbass old woman is strong enough to hold 10 moving boxes? What does that even mean here? This part is so dumb, it's just impossible to let slide.
So, anyhow - in a sane world, the entirety of the media would point how how thoroughly and monumentally stupid everything she said here was. They would then also do the obvious thing, and draw the conclusion - wait a minute... if this person is this stupid/uninformed, why in the hell should she ever be allowed to be in a position where she can make/influence laws on this? Nah - almost the entire media covered for her on it.
Again - the left's ability to set/control the narrative MUST be attacked and destroyed. We are never going to effect any serious change without doing that.

When she was confronted by those in the media not on the left, she countered with this:

And that was the end of it. Seriously - the vast majority of our media was satisfied with that. That, which upon any inspection whatsoever (In what way could she be speaking about the sun? She's saying that she was talking about us landing on the fucking sun???) makes absolutely zero sense, was a fine explanation. It was more than enough to just say, "HurrRrr!!1 I'm not dumb! It's the REPUBLICANS that are foolish!", and insinuate they're being racist. So long as you are part of the media's party, that was good enough. Oh, I left something out, too... Not only was this woman, that the media was protecting, a congresswoman, she previously sat on the House's Science, Space and Technology Committee!
It's simply incredible that you can be that fucking stupid, and still have the left, their ideology, and - most importantly - their indoctrination/propaganda system, ram you through two degrees, get you elected 16 fucking times, and help you achieve a net worth in excess of $3.5M USD (despite never doing anything but being a shit-tier politician). There is zero way this person should ever have been allowed in any sort of position where they could exercise power over other people, and yet here we are: because the left has this indoctrination/propaganda system, they can get away with almost anything. It's not exactly this simple. Democrats gain, and maintain, their grip on power because they have been allowed to construct the greatest, most pervasive, indoctrination system ever known to man.
The disinterested masses start getting hit with it the second they enter grade school at this point, and it keeps going all the way through college. At every point along the journey - and even once they are finally out school, and enter adulthood - they are subjected to constant reinforcement of the ideology via the media, via the left's control of information (going to the people on the left, and - most importantly - to these disinterested masses in the middle), via their control of entertainment, etc. It's constantly reinforced, and they are constantly subjected to endless peer pressure to get them to comply, and not stray. Extremely public displays are made of what happens to those that dare to question the party.
This is how they work. Without allowing them this system, they would never be able to do what they have been doing. It's not normal for people to believe the absolutely stupid shit the left is pushing (i.e., hating yourself, hating your country, unrestricted illegal immigration, thinking it's not possible to define what a woman is, etc). People aren't reasoning themselves into these views. They are being indoctrinated into them.
Are some people stupid? Yeah - some of them. That's not the problem, though. The problem is that the left is allowed to indoctrinate and propagandize those people - and everyone else - every waking moment of their lives. Up until the point that the guy has actually done something illegal, I'm not really sure what people would like done to him? I mean, if just having some people report you means that the FBI/Government is allowed to do whatever it wants to you, at that point, isn't that pretty fucking scary? Look - If they're getting a lot of reports on someone, sure - the FBI better do all due fucking diligence, and thoroughly look into everything they legally can. Once they've done that, though, they shouldn't be allowed to push it any further.
This is a really difficult societal level problem, and when it gets to this point, it really ends up falling more on family/friends.
