I agree with you personall. But, (being too blackpilled maybe) I think a sizeable portion of the country - maybe even over half - just looks at that and says "but that's (D)ifferent!" And until that group either somehow wakes up or (half a century from now) starts dying of old age, I don't see anything changing.

Honestly, he could probably have picked up the box the masks were in and (if it was still the box the masks came in) showed the non-binary blobfish a printed label on it saying "not intended for use against covid-19" or something similar. Because most mask boxes have that on them. Then the transgression would be it's fault.

Nah, easy enough to solve that issue. Dot matrix printers are still a thing that are (rarely) used and are functionally like scrolls. All you would have to do would be get a company to start making the paper without the little separation section. And maybe make the printers a little faster. And if you tell a company "go ahead and make a faster dot matrix printer and you get an exclusive government contract for all printouts of all government bills" you'll have it ridiculously quickly

I think a better headline would be;

TikTok uses location history to track everyone who is stupid enough to download the Chinese government spyware.

Why not both?

We don't know what happened after that.

a) We will know because you narcissists can't shut up for 5 minutes

b) Even now, we still don't know what is happening because half of what you say is just made up, and the other half is editorialized beyond recognition.

Good.

I honestly believe the question of amnesty is one that seriously needs to be discussed. However, it should only be discussed AFTER the borders and immigration system are fixed.

There have been multiple "deals" done which have had some enforcement component and some leniency to illegals component to them, and mysteriously the enforcement component never gets enforced. No more. Enforcement and controls first, then we'll talk.

Oh, that explains it then. I got pretty much 0s on everything too, and was not sure why.

Article says "she" several times. Of course, even that doesn't tell you anything these days because it could easily be a tranny.

Because nothing says you're a peaceful, well-adjusted person like boycotting everything Raspberry Pi and issuing death threats just because they hired a guy who used to be a UK cop.

dude, learn to read the laws on the books.

The revolt you're predicting did not come when the law was passed. So when it is going to come?

In 2026 when the law requires 35% of new car sales to be electric or plug-in hybrid?

In 2028 when the law mandates that less than 50% of new sales can be gas powered?

In 2035 when it's illegal to buy a new gas powered car?

Or never? What is the cutoff for "fucking with your cars"?

Your cars are in the pot and the water's already starting to boil.

And a new impeachment hearing immediately convenes saying that Trump was in explicit violation of the first amendment.

17
ailurus 17 points ago +17 / -0

What do you mean, if they tried that? They've already done it.

No more gas cars sold by 2035

And before you say it, yes I know it says you can keep using your existing gas car. Until, of course, that breaks down. And you can't buy a new one (cause it's banned), and you can't get a used one because the used market is dried up worse than it was after Cash4Clunkers. Or gas stations start shutting down due to decreased numbers of gas cars meaning they can't stay in business. 2038-2040 it will probably be impossible to maintain a gas vehicle in CA (or in NY, which passed a similar law. Or other places which have or will pass similar laws).

It was only back in September, that California was urging people to stop charging their cars. Yes, it was limited, and yes it was a recommendation not a direct ban on charging, but anyone who has paid attention to anything has seen how quickly recommendations turn into orders.

Oh, and people are already working on tech to suck the energy out of EVs to put it back into the grid when things get stressed. Which from a technical point of view is kind of cool, I admit, but in practice runs into huge issues, namely when you want to drive somewhere only to find that the state or power company has drained your battery to power something else.

So, when is this massive revolt coming?

ailurus 11 points ago +11 / -0

Man, that video is enraging. Shoving the cop repeatedly, yelling at him (though no idea what is being said), slaps him first, and then the second he slaps her back the waterworks immediately come on.

Appears to have gotten suspended (who could have guessed making and deploying a bot when the owner of the platform is constantly talking about getting rid of bots would end badly?)

That said, making an extremist detector bot on twitter is simple. Each flag or symbol in the name is 2 points. Each flag or symbol in the bio is 1 point. Pronouns in the bio is 4 points. If you get 4+ points, you're an extremist. (feel free to tweak the point values if you want).

Women represent only 20% of computer science and 22% of undergraduate engineering degrees. And, in 2018, women accounted for only 38% of applications to full-time MBA programs.

BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO DO IT. It's that simple. According to data from UCLA, the percentage of incoming female students interested in majoring in computer science peaked in the early 1980s. There is very little interest in women getting involved in IT related fields, and when they do (at least in my experience with 10 years of teaching the stuff) as soon as it gets hard a good chunk of them just nope out of there for an easier major.

Nope. Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope.

Sure, I like the idea of playing something like a Shadowrun rigger. But the only way you're getting a computer in my head is over my cold, dead, body.

The kind of person who

a) thinks wars should be avoided if at all possible

and

b) wants to actually win the war if it needs to happen?

Women are a massive liability in combat situations. That's a fact. All drafting them does is is make the military less effective. And if you think drafting women will make wars less likely to happen, just look at any combat situation for the last several decades where the female "soldiers" are almost universally kept in behind the lines positions while their male "counterparts" do 99% of the actual fighting.

If you want to argue that the draft should be ended, I fully agree with you. But with this argument you're not trying to help men. You're trying to punish women, and in a way that will only make things worse for men.

Honestly, not sure if you're joking or not on that one. On the one hand, it wouldn't surprise me at all, but I've looked up nothing about it except the trailer so don't know if there has been mention about who the Big Bad is. (All that's seen about them in the trailer is some big boats, some murder robots and a bunch of scenes of Peaceful Native Villages(tm) on fire)

3
ailurus 3 points ago +3 / -0

I can see it happening, just off nostalgia glasses from Avatar.

That said, as someone who never saw the first one (but heard lots about it), viewing the trailer for 2 does nothing to make me want to see it. In fact, I'm pretty sure I can predict the entire plot just from the trailer:

Movie opens with Jake and his new daughter (at least, that's who I'm assuming the kid-alien in the trailer is) living a happy, peaceful life In Harmony With Nature(tm). Evil humans return to Pandora still desperate for resources, only they invade in an aquatic/island area. Jake wants to fight them off again, but his local tribe refuses, saying "It's not our problem". Jake defiantly goes to new area with a few of the local tribe (The Reisistance(tm)) who agreed with him. There they meet Other Alien Tribe, who are hesitant at first but accepts the help eventually. Battle with the Evil Humans is difficult and expensive, but is ultimately won when Jake's daughter manages to summon some giant fish-monster to destroy the Evil Human's command ship.

Nah. It's just bad regardless. Sure, removing the gay and communism would improve it some, but it doesn't address the biggest issue. Look up the Calhoun Rat Utopia experiments. Or the fact that the nosiest and craziest elements which are working to shift society today are primarily upper middle class urban kids who haven't had to work for a thing in their lives.

Conflict, stress, work ethic and even scarcity are necessary for a stable society. If you just give everyone whatever they want, things will inevitably decay into a miserable place.

Much of a corporations' value lies in their workers - their knowledge, skills and ideas.

Lolololol. Let me introduce you to something called the Pareto Principle, AKA 80% of your workers are pretty useless. As long as Musk kept the good 20%, which I believe he did, he just cut out a lot of deadweight.
