Today is June 4th, which should be memorialized as "government officials shouldn't be jerks" day.

June 4th, 2004: Marvin Heemayer takes his armored bulldozer on a property destruction rampage, citing issues with zoning laws and access roads. Regardless of whether or not he was justified, it was an impressive feat of engineering and this line from the notes he left are worth remembering:

I was always willing to be reasonable until I had to be unreasonable. Sometimes reasonable men must do unreasonable things.

June 4th, 1989: CCP, kills hundreds of people and injures thousands of people (at a minimum) clearing out Tiananmen Square. The internet does declare, however, that it is important to note that this incident was Not Real Communism(tm) and rather the result of capitalism, or climate change, or the patriarchy, or transphobia or whatever the Current Day(tm) buzzword is.

I imagine a lot of you are probably familiar with Metatron, but if you aren't he's been on youtube for almost a decade now, making primarily very detailed and well-researched historical videos. Almost 750k subs, and over 800 videos during that time.

Couple days ago, Youtube decided to fully remove all monetization from his channel (his (extremely naive IMO) video on this is here).

Personally, I think it is obvious why this happened. Two weeks ago, he made this video pointing out that the ancient Greeks were, in fact, not actually pro-gay which got over 1 million views. And a week ago he made this other video talking about how the black Cleopatra thing was rubbish and that there were better choices to pick from if they wanted black warrior queens which got over 500k views.

And then his channel suddenly just loses all monetization? Such a strange coincidence!

This is just plain funny.

Back in June, workers in one of their stores voted to unionize. Fast forward to yesterday, and Apple decided to increase benefits for all of its employees - except for that one store.

Legally, Apple had no choice, since the presence of the union means they have to negotiate a new contract with the union every time they change anything. And it doesn't change the fact that virtually every aspect of Apple's products and business models and politics are garbage. But, it's still quite amusing on how the union employees are now doing worse than all other Apple employees.

Slightly hyperbolic title, but not by much.

When the Roe draft was leaked a couple weeks ago, most of the politicians here in NY have been engaged in mass virtue signaling about how people need more abortion, including looking to make abortions more available, and even some discussion about using tax money to pay for basically abortion tourism (come to NY, get an abortion, then go home).

Yet, earlier this week, we had this ludicrous "gem", with the NY State court of appeals hearing arguments about how Happy the Elephant

has an interest in exercising her choices and deciding who she wants to be with, and where to go, and what to do, and what to eat, and the zoo is prohibiting her from making any of those choices herself.

This is beyond Clownworld. We must allow people to murder babies however and whenever they want to, but this elephant over here needs human rights!
