It's based on a Swedish movie that was in turn based on a Swedish book.

A friend watched the Swedish version and told me the tranny was not in there.

It actually seemed like a standard "lonely old man finds new life by engaging with his community" Hollywood trope until the tranny showed up. The character was completely out of place (as was Otto, who was intolerant of everything, immediately accepting the tranny) and clearly tacked on to hammer home The Message.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but if YouTube demonetizes your videos, you're not getting paid either.

I'm sure there's still some value to posting on YouTube because you get a larger audience and you can pitch for donations or direct viewers to the mirrored copy of your video on another site where you do get revenue, but I wouldn't count on YouTube allowing that forever- I'm surprised they tolerate people pitching other sites in their videos; perhaps they just can't catch it unless somebody reports it.

YouTube makes money from advertisers because of their content. If they're not willing to share that money with the content creators the creators need to go somewhere that does.

We’ve invented whole industries of bullshit work

I'm just gonna leave this here... https://web.archive.org/web/20180807024932/http://strikemag.org/bullshit-jobs/

I'm pretty sure Graeber is some kind of socialist- he proposes universal basic income as a solution in the book he wrote based on this article. While I don't agree with his proposed solutions, I think he nails the description of this phenomenon.

I definitely understand feeling exploited. I've spent an entire career excelling only to see the same people who we're asking me for help with their projects yesterday promoted past me today because they're female, or minority, or the boss hangs out with them on the weekends.

The trick is to only give what you need to. I've heard the phrase "if you're a giver, you have to know your limits, because the takers don't have any" and it's true. I no longer volunteer for projects or try and improve my workplace, because I know I'll get nothing in return. But, as others have said, work is simply a vehicle to obtain money. As long as they pay me what I want, I'll stick around. I just won't hinge my self esteem on what they think of me.

I would caution you against thinking that a family would solve your problems. Once you're comfortable with yourself without external validation, things seem to fall into place- that may include a family, or it may not. Everything the MGTOW group says about women is true; you will likely find new levels of exploitation and mental abuse if you cohabitate with a woman.

The trick is getting beyond trying to find self-actualization from extrinsic sources like other's opinions of you. You have to learn to be comfortable with yourself in your own right.

Yes. Giving up on society doesn't mean giving up on yourself.

I'm firmly convinced that society today is measurably worse than society 50 years ago, and it's only going to get worse still in the future. That being said, there's plenty of things that don't suck to keep you occupied for a lifetime. Focus on your fitness, read books about history and philosophy, enjoy the films and art that interests you.

The vast majority of people leave this world only remembered by their friends and immediate family. Within a generation nobody even knows they existed. But does that really matter? If they lived happy and fulfilling lives do they need to leave a lasting mark on the world?

Honestly, I wish they'd do this to more people. The only way YouTube will ever have a viable competitor as if they push people with large audiences on to another platform who bring their viewers with them.

I recognize Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Eva 01, and Godzilla. Did I get them all?

Exactly, and she didn't even seem to learn her lesson, she's still "reflecting" on racism.

You will always be the "other" to blacks if you are not black. No matter how understanding and supportive you are, you can never "live their experience" so you'll never be seen as an equal.

It's peak irony that a group that insists they are persecuted for their race refuses to accept others... Because there are a different race.

They both seem like insufferable bitches, but the black chick, Saahene, definitely comes off as the real villain to me.

They were pulling in $10K+ a week in speakers fees but she wasn't even travelling to the events:

Saahene did much of the work remotely. She was living for months at a time in Accra, Ghana,

They were splitting 50/50, because the black chick was the "talent" and the white chick was managing the admin side, until black chick decides she wants more:

I started to realize that I was the draw: my skin, my story,” Saahene said. The two women had always split them evenly, but in 2019 Saahene had suggested that she deserved a greater share. It seemed clear that the venture would have gotten little traction without a Black woman on board, and in her view, speaking about racism required more "emotional labor" on her part.

When they decide to split the black chick starts defaming the white chick:

On April 22, 2022, Saahene took over the platform. In a written statement to nearly 500,000 followers, she said DePino was "not honest" and had no "commitment to ending colonialism." She plugged her personal Instagram.

Black chick used the experience to become a professional race grifter and abandoned her former solid middle class job. When asked to reflect about their relationship, thinks only of herself. White chick is apologetic and wishes evil bitch the best:

I’m over it," Saahene said recently about their relationship. “I’ve moved on. It’s a new chapter. A new me." "I don’t really know where she is or what she’s doing,” DePino said. “But I wish her the best.”

Because media dropped their mask and are now blatantly a mouthpiece for the left and the Democratic party.

The left deludes itself into thinking that their version of right and wrong is the undisputed truth and that only fringe wackos disagree with them. In reality, there are a number of policy issues where the majority opinion breaks from liberal party dogma.

So of course, rather than reflect on why the masses don't agree with them and possibly adjust their policy, they simply blame the people.

OMFG, I just had "1 in 5 women are sexually assaulted before graduating college" thrown at me today.

I think they throw that out there thinking it's going to be some kind of sobering figure, and it would be extraordinary if true. However, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, can I have yet to see any evidence to back this up other than "#believeallwomen".

Why are fats the only group in society with problems we "fix" by trying to make everyone else like them.

Transgenders have entered the chat.

I'm not sure what their objection to "harassing" these executives is. It's a time honored tactic of the left to dox, stalk social media, harass, and try to get their targets fired.

Sounds like turnabout is fair play to me.

Communism took root in places like Russia and China precisely because the vast majority of their people lived lives that were little better than medieval serfs. Practically anything was a step up to them.

That doesn't in any way mean it's better than capitalism or democracy, or any other economic/political system.

Race and gender swapping in media only ever goes one way: white man to something else.

That's how you know it's not just "a fresh new vision" or "artistic license". There's always an agenda.

Now, wait for all the feminists and race grifters to explode when they start replacing women and black characters with trannies.

I have only a passing familiarity with 4chan, mostly due to an interface that looks like it's from AOL online in 1995.

That said, I know /pol/ was the group that harassed Shia LeBouf, manipulated a number of internet voting contests (Hitler did nothing wrong- the newest Mountain Dew flavor!) and try cked people into putting iPhones in the microwave among other exploits. How do you get banned from there?

"Assault rifle"? Detachable magazine, select fire, intermediate cartridge. Developed after the Germans realized that most infantry engagements were within 300 yards and full power rifle cartridges were not needed.

"Assault weapon"? Made up term, deliberately chosen to be confused with assault rifle. Used to scare people into thinking everyone's running around having military fire fights in their streets.

unhoused

I wish the left would just fuck off with their Newspeak. He was homeless, a bum, hobo, etc. "Unhoused" is a made up word that sounds like "unhorsed". Unless he was knocked out of his house in a joust, it wouldn't apply.

Don't forget they paid too. Getting a normal green card and then becoming a citizen costs several thousand dollars in application fees.

The immigration process isn't hard, but it requires following instructions, collecting and submitting documents, and adhering to timelines.

It's like a simple IQ test, so unless you're wealthy enough to hire someone to do it for you, you've at least got some baseline level of intelligence to navigate it successfully.

'let's expand our consumers who are mostly Conservative to the left'.

This exactly. They thought they could score points with the tranny crowd and were apparently oblivious to what seems like the obvious resulting backlash from their core customer base.

Unsurprisingly, the market for cheap swill beer with the far left isn't very large, and probably won't be growing.

but in college there's no excuse not to have the highest of standards.

College used to be much harder. Then they figured out how much money they could make if they lowered their admission standards and jacked up tuition. Now it's basically high school that you pay the price of a house to attend.

Haha, I know you're being sarcastic, but I'm not specifically referring to the election.

You had the Chairman of The Joint Chiefs say that he would not obey an order for a nuclear strike from Trump and would instead call his Chinese equivalent to warn them. It's bad enough that he would do it, but the fact that he can freely admit it to the public without any fear of repercussion makes it even worse.

How many other people that hold high government positions attended meetings and received direction and said "yes, sir" and then fucked off to do their own thing?
