And the only Disney Star Wars that is actually given any sort of praise (Rogue One) was directed by a guy who actually watched other movies in order to keep the world building in place. And one who also had a vision and push his foot down on making sure it was carried out.

The one good thing I suppose is that, from what I have seen, for all of the hate they get Games Workshop has been pretty adamant that female Space Marines is a line they will not cross. To the point I have seen them even respond along the lines of "Just play Sisters you dumb nerds!" when people complain too hard. I have seen an increase in female characters in the Guard, but that has never been an unusual thing and lore for them has existed for a while.

This insanity is all over the place with the Leftists right now. They are really, actively, supporting mass murder and genocide.

I have seen some people claim it will be as damaging to the Left supporting this as it was for them to support the Soviet invasion of Hungary in 1956. Where all but the most die-hard Leftist looks at them and says "What the fuck is wrong with you?!" and gets turned away.

Perhaps too much to ask with a lot of what is happening, but I imagine in decades from now we will be talking about "Hamasies" in the same way we talk about Tankies.

Just for what I know, here in my state (Kansas) we have 4 tribes (Iowa, Kickapoo, Sac and Fox, and Prairie Band Potawatomi). At least from what I have seen from living in the area, most of the tribes and their members around here take an attitude of "What is in the past is done. Let us walk forward hand in hand instead of with clenched fist." But they are also doing ok for themselves, as I have driven through the Kickapoo reservation and forgot where I was until I drove past their museum because it looked a lot like everything else around it.

But when my family was on a road trip one time, we drove through a Sioux reservation in South Dakota on the way to the Badlands. It looked like we had entered a damn third-world country (with the road to match). I am sure it is just a coincidence that the Sioux are one of the more activist minded tribes (though I imagine it is to cover up corruption from Elders).

Depends on the tribe. Most do indeed, but there are a handful (usually the Lakota) who still get pissy about it. When you see a tribe complaining about something, it is almost always Lakota. Others are even on the based side (like the tribe in Nevada that decided to take exactly zero shit from Eco-Protestors and rammed their blockade).

And for all of the talk about how this is about derailing the Saudi-Israel deal that was in the works, I dont imagine the Saudis are going to do too much since they have never really cared for Hamas (what with them being backed by Iran and all that).

Hell, if anything they may take an attitude of "If you agree to look the other way (or even help) if/when we go kick the Iranians ass, we will keep our mouth shut as you go be the 800 lbs gorilla rampaging through Gaza."

Sure, you have Leftist trying to give their usual apologia toward Hamas. But for the vast majority of normal people, I think they crossed some lines and made a lot of people willing to let Israel do whatever it wanted.

To play devils advocate, a ton of Americans were killed at that music festival that was happening over there. So going and parking a carrier off the shore could stand as a show of force.

Now that is not to say I know which way this goes. But I still lean toward us staying out of it outside of our typical current levels. But it is a possibility.

A two-state solution could work

It definitely wont now, because I guarantee Israel is going to go apeshit and just flatten everything. Especially after the mass civilian casualties that have been inflicted, and after the only reason Gaza exist as a base for Hamas is because Israel gave it up expecting reconciliation.

That said, unlike with Ukraine, I am not on team "Money and bullets." Israel has their own military that is quite advanced, their own funding sources that more than cover their cost, and their own arms industry that is some of the best in the world. They dont really need extra help to do what they will do.

About the only real issue I am seeing is that it only got this far on the grounds of "What complacency does to a motherfucker", and so I imagine there will be heads rolling. But even if it gets rid of Bibi, I imagine he is going to be replaced by someone even further right chanting "peace was never an option" (unlike what I have seen some Leftist saying).

Yes, next month. Unfortunately, under the EA license, but at least from I have seen they are handling it properly. The most track of any DIRT/WRC game with new nationalities for tracks (like Japan), all seasons for each track, improvements to the handling model to make it more realistic, the usual of newer Gen rally cars (including the new Rally 1 hybrids), and even the ability to make your own car for experimental divisions.

And of course, when they showed gameplay, it was with someone who clearly knows how to actually drive.

Meanwhile, WRC is actually looking like a worthy successor to DIRT. Hopefully the motorsport side of Forza sticks to its roots. But why get someone who doesn’t know their driving to show it off? (We know why. Asian.)

In a manner of speaking. Essentially, you build up cities and armies on a turn based world map. Building up your cities let’s you gain more income to support bigger armies, as well as unlocking new units to make up your armies. And much like IRL, your army is typically going to be made up of mostly militia or regular forces, with elites being rare due to high upkeep cost.

While it is turn based on the overworld, when your army attacks a city or another army, it turns into a real time battle, where your army is made up of what you actually brought, and you move them regiment by regiment.

For the better ones, I would recommend Total War Rome 2, Shogun 2, Fall of the Samurai (a standalone expansion for Shogun), Attila (the hardest one though), or Three Kingdoms.

Also, for city builders, Cities:Skylines 2 is about to come out and it looks like a pretty major step forward for the genre.

I second this attitude. I think there are too many people wanting things set based on their personal preference rather than just saying “this isn’t for me” and moving on. Obviously, it is different on real people, but much like you I am very much anything goes on drawn or written work.

To go with my own example, I am not generally a fan of skimpy outfit looks. I find chainmail bikinis to be an active turn-off and consider looks like this to be vastly more appealing to me in terms of turn-ons. I am not going to demand everything meet my standard, and I am not going to say someone is a perv if they like the chainmail bikini look.

Maybe I just lucked out. I have had no shortage of games in the last few years, many of which are (like I said) superior quality to anything AAA and almost all of them without even the inkling Woke to them.

It is the main reason I scoff whenever I hear people saying that gaming is in some sort of gutter right now.

6
TheModernDaVinci 6 points ago +6 / -0

Or I could get strategy games that push the envelope of what was done before and cover topics that have never been done before, like the Czechoslovakian Legion doing their run the long way across Russia.

The beauty of Indie is that there are just as many instances of "better than AAA quality" games with excellent stories and great characters, just as much as there are the woke ones.

And the dirty little secret is that now that you actually have to pay interest on loans, companies are becoming a lot less likely to just seek those ESG dollars. It is entirely possible the studios are using this strike just so they can Force Majeure away all of this stuff that they approve when there was free money lying around and lots of eyeballs up for grabs, but now leave them saying "We fucked up!" now that they have to worry about their spending.

TheModernDaVinci 9 points ago +9 / -0

Additionally, I would argue they go after stuff like this because the modern Left attacks anything that is conventionally attractive. It is also why they get so angry at video game mods and anime, as well as any Hollywood movie that dares to step out of line.

TheModernDaVinci 17 points ago +17 / -0

The part that is annoying to me is, I am not even into this skimpy outfit look. I am very much the weirdo in that when it comes to what turns me on, more is less (example).

Yet every time stuff like this goes on, They have me over here going "You're gonna make me have to defend this, arent you? Damn it." Because I know eventually they will come for stuff I like. Technically, they already do since it seems the modern left (especially the trans types) seem to hate Tomboys.

Yeah, and she is just as good in McSix as she was in Frozen Crown. If I had to guess, much like most members of Angus McSix, she joined because she wanted a band that wasnt going to tour a lot so she could have more home time.

Darrius Rucker was/is pretty popular too. And while kind of niche, Cowboy Troy at least had a respectable following.

It is a lot like Black people in Metal. Its not that they are actively discriminated against, and they will even be popular. It is just that, due to the demographics of where it is popular, they are typically outnumbered by White people.

wtf is the 4th image

GIR from Invader Zim. Who is an alien robot who has to try and blend in with Humanity but doesnt know how that works because they are an alien.

Also, the second is probably actually what the Lefties are talking about and is not a Tomboy. But that is because it is a character from an animated show that was based on a Tumblr comic series....which should tell you everything you need to know about it.

I think the problem is he used to be fun. But now in recent times he has go a little off the rails and gotten actually kind of aggressive.

TheModernDaVinci 17 points ago +17 / -0

The other issue is that unlike Hollywood, there is a vast and extensive network of Indie and AA studios that are not beholden to the overall Games industry and would continue to exist if this strike happened. In fact, such a strike would probably allow them to cut into the market share of AAA devs even more than they already are, which is a market where a $15 voxel based game is putting up player numbers on par with Call of Duty and its $70 price tag.

The fun one is when you consider that they changed them to bandits at the same time they made them "diverse".

What did the SJW's mean by this?

4
TheModernDaVinci 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yes, it is. Which is why he constantly facepalms at other investors and financial types who value growth more than profit, not realizing profit is a lot more indictive of a healthy company worthy of investment than one that has growth.

9
TheModernDaVinci 9 points ago +9 / -0

It is one of the things that a channel I watch called Valliant Renegade gets a bug up his ass about all the time. His day job is doing financial work, and one of this biggest pet peeves is the push in the last decade or two that all companies should be focused on growth rather than profit. It is why you have this push for constant investment and credit even though companies are losing money hand over fist.

Meanwhile, many of those investors will turn up their nose at a company that had limited growth but made solid profit.

He sees it as the number one reason that so many of the streaming services have failed to make any profit because they must get that growth, which then also causes the drop in quality (that is further made worse by the beliefs of the Hollywood types).

I LOVE Redline. Probably also one of the better dubs I can think of out there too.
