Which is why we need to help them. Into a [REDACTED].

I've been playing coop with a full lance. We've played enough that we're getting bored with our flagship mechs and have started trading each other. I'm really liking a ballistic Cataphract, UACs and BF ACs, crazy rates of fire.

A piece of lore that fell by the wayside is that replicated food doesn't taste right. It's a necessity in space where storage is at a premium, but it's not a universal solution and wherever possible, real food is preferred.

I can't speak to the size of Picard's vineyard. You can definitely hand wave some with "automation", as unsatisfying as that is.

To be fair, the writers get really lazy with it and it's really inconsistent.

I think the idea of a particle stream is actually a lot more realistic than matter-energy-matter conversion because a particle beam would cost less energy.

I don't like the reading that a ridiculous amount of Federation tech is constantly doing matter-energy conversions. For example, the replicators being synthesizers that take in matter and rearrange it strikes me as way more likely than every bedroom having an energy-matter converter.

The transporter isn't a xerox. It's more like shipping ikea furniture. Your matter is broken down, then moved along an energy beam to the destination, where the same matter is reassembled in the same pattern.

That's what it's supposed to be, at least. Different writers all handle tech slightly differently. It shouldn't be possible to get a transporter clone, like what happened with Riker. The tech doesn't work that way, unless it does this week.

I'm no middle manager, but I don't understand why a small team, intimately familiar with how their success was earned, would immediately think "let's spread this windfall as thin as possible across people who did nothing for it."

Why not just give everyone a fat bonus and use the rest of the cash to give yourself a slightly longer dev time on the next project?

At the height of the British empire, the domestic government was practically a night watchman state. For example, state prosecutors hadn't been invented yet.

It's mind boggling what we put up with.

I don't wonder at all.

This didn't work the first time and it won't work now. This time it's not just an isolated experiment, though.

KiA2 has been riding the sweet spot for a while now. Noticers have reached critical mass and the sentiment is broadly entertained, if not outright supported. And some of the best personalities haven't moved on with their lives, so the forum is comprised of mostly real people and not single-topic, low-IQ spergs.

Heaven forbid deflation set in, demand for jobs of all skill levels increase along with wages, and growth as an end to itself come to an end.

No institutions prepared for this, despite knowing it would happen eighty years in advance. I guess we have to put our nations in a garbage disposal, it's the only solution.
