Despite all that, I actually do recommend a visit still as it's some of the most unique land I have ever seen (especially Cape Town). If possible, drive across the border to Botswana and you will get a different vibe.

Why wouldn't the money masters just keep printing money instead? Inflation benefits them immensely more, as you can own an asset "on paper" but if you don't have physical possession it's worthless.
Take a house for example: you can own the deed, but if you don't have a tenant or security on it, homeless drifters will move in within a month.
This article seems like junk reasoning to me - physical acquisition of everything is impossible logistically.
