The irony here is that if they went through with it, Todd will finally have come through with his initial promise. Not that half-assed bastardization of what his radiant ai initially was in Oblivion. What we got sucked so hard, ai might be an improvement.
I played many back in the early 2000s and a lot of them had some rather risqué moments. Some of those loading screens in Raganrok Online were flat out softcore porn. Granted, they were fan submissions, but they CHOSE to put them there. Ah fuck.. that really takes me back.... Grinding Poison Spores for DAYS to the tune of the same 8 Papa Roach songs on loop. It's a wonder I still have any sanity left to speak of. Now whenever I hear even a nano second of Cut My Life Into Pieces, I have a little bit of a Nam Flashback.
Game looks kinda tacky tbh, but I wish them the best. Like, I like eye candy as much as the next guy, but there reaches a point where it's just gratuitous. I don't know, I need at least some subtlety. Nier did it great. It was there, but it wasn't constantly in your face. Too much and you just get numb to it, which sucks.
Man, just thinking about all the money my dad raked in by coming home, drinking beer, and watching NASCAR every fucking day.... /s
(seriously, I'll NEVER understand NASCAR or the appeal. It's just driving in a circle for literal hours)
It's there to consume, yes, but the lamentation is not having the opportunity to grow up with the medium. Having it be appart of their growing minds and settled in that comfy state of nostalgic remembrance. Ocorena of Time is still great, but people liking it now that didn't play it as a kid might not have the same appreciation and adoration. as one born in the late 80s to early 90s. A kid's view vs an adults on a game will be wildly different. What might seem mysterious and insurmountable will instead be viewed as mundane and casually attainable.
I'm sure OP has already seen this, but for the sake of anyone else that may not have... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvNNtBmA3SQ
That's just Dr. Dark.
