Legitimately, I could go on forever but the SCP community is bar none the worst group of people to exist. Petty, self important, arrogant, cruel, pathetic, deviant, degerate sex pests.
Seriously, there was a blowup about 5 years ago because somebody found out the staff had a private chat where they regularly talked shit about various users who "technically could be banned bit were awful" up to murder fantasies imbetween their sequel role-playing.
They got busted and the userbase demanded that all staff chatrooms be public. Essentially, they refused.
There were numerous threads about this whole thing on SCP subreddit (and of course every thread was deleted and people mentioning it were banned), plus there was an entire forum on Kiwi Farms describing in great detail every case where Bright and other SCP admins were creeps towards minors.
After few days some people finally had enough and created RPC Authority. Of course SCP mods didn't want the word about pedos in their midst to spread, so they immediately changed their logo for pride flag few days into the lgbt month to stir some drama, claimed that everyone who left did so only because they were bigots and banned every mention of RPC from fear of people figuring out why those people left.
Unfortunately Jim created his video about trans satellite in a bad moment, and SCP mods claimed his video was the main reason why people were leaving SCP for other sites. If not for this video mods would have a hard time explaining to normies why writers were suddenly fleeing their site and deleting their classic SCPs.
Probably the case that when you look at the worst entries (I think it was after 3000 or 4000 things go REALLY bad) you'll find them approving it.
There is still some good mixed in with the crap when it gets more woke like SCP-5001 but hopefully this leads to a purge of those authors and we get less of the social commentary, more of the morally ambiguous 'is it right to torture 1 person constantly to stop the evil one crossing into our existence' entries.
Edit: Oh 3 years old, well that doesn't bode well unless someone more indepth in that community can say if there was a change after this was found out or if it kind of stagnated.
There was no change. At the time of Bright's booting, the fad was genderqueer witch self-inserts and institutional gaslighting. Last I checked, probably a year ago, it was (insert indigenous people here) were right and some kind of nature god destroys civilization in retaliation for global warming.

A lot of the earlier "good" ones were "cleaned up" and made worse. 231 famously had them remove all the clear implications of brutal rape to be "read her a bed time story, but you think its rape so it still works!"
If it was a basic, not very popular but not hated enough to be deleted one it'll still be there. But all the big ones were tweaked and touched by the woke infection just the same.

But they removed all the obvious tiptoeing around the fact that she had to be regularly raped and tortured, and then outright made it canon that they just read books to her, while also putting a literal fucking "content warning" page you have to click on to get to it.
So its still there, but basically a fraction of itself. Which makes it ironic they put in a "we do evil things because we have to, you don't have to like it" paragraph as well after sanitizing it.
I liked SCP for a bit, but it clearly has a lot of incredibly psycho fans... And "fans.". One of the best SCP YouTube channels, SCP Orientation, got forced off YouTube due to being bombarded by complaints due to their "sexualized" thumbnails.

As soon as it got popular, it became a "fandom" instead of a community effort. And like any good fandom it was filled with tumblr level retardation who are obsessed with shoving in politics, quirky humor, self inserts, and removing anything that isn't "safe scary."
