People say women voted for this - yeah, they did - but what doesn't get through many people's heads is that the women actively participating in sports are a minority of a minority, and it's possible that they actually didn't vote for this shit.
Women are not into sports. They just aren't. Hell, most men aren't into sports. It takes a special kind of mindset to get really involved in this stuff, and every woman I've met who are actually into this stuff and not just doing it cause their boyfriend/husband is are just a little bit off.
For that matter, alot of guys who get into sports and athleticism for a long period of time are just a little bit off, as well.

People advocating for this don't get it. They already have trouble filling military quotas, and they're redlining trying to further insult and belittle military service. The so-called 'elites' seem to have it in their skulls that Americans showing up to fight their over-seas wars is just an assumed given that isn't even up for debate or question, when people's attitude is becoming more and more 'Fuck you, this is the governments war, and I fucking hate my government'.

One of these days I'm gonna sperg out and write a long essay on the topic, but to boil it down; A lot of pastors are smart, and realize the most terrifying force on this planet is a group of organized young men. So, alot of preaching acts to effectively neuter this - for some good reasons(roving bands of marauders are bad), and for some very bad reasons(you can't have powerful people getting what they deserve).
I think alot of Christians understand this implicitly, because they always shy away from really embracing scripture as written, and always fall back on more gentle interpretations.
