I just LOVE multiculturalism demanding we kowtow to cultural norms of another country across the ocean. Very natural and organic.

It's interesting how a game about playing roles feels the need to pigeon hole the player's choices like this. Almost like freedom is bad thing to these people or something....

The sad thing is I can follow the train of "logic."

"White people shouldn't feel guilty for something they didn't do. Also, their ancestors are the ones who abolished slavery in the first place."

"So YoU'Re SAyiNg SLaVeRY waS AkCsHooALY GOoD!?"

"He poisoned our water supply, burned our crops and delivered a plague unto our houses!"

"HE DID?!?"

"No, but are we just gonna wait around until he does?!"

They're only bad if you're looking at games that pushed the envelope too hard and aimed for realism over stylization. All the best looking games of the past still look great, because they aimed to be appealing over being realistic.

And even then, why is everyone so hung up on graphics anyway? Shouldn't we care more about the games being fun to play, first and foremost?

Occam's Razor is a useful tool for interpersonal relationships, recognizing your friend is more likely to have been thoughtless rather than spiteful.

It is a terrible tool for judging the operation of impersonal organizations and their impact. When both malice and incompetence lead to destruction, they should be treated the same way.

As much as I love Rob's voice work, he's been a looney for years. Never meet your heroes....

Why play as Bowser?

Why play as Dr. Eggman?

Why play as Ganondorf?

It kills me that they made all these absurd changes to anime, but also made one of the more mature and violent Ninja Turtles series.

Rippee also noted the troubling normalization of such activities within the government, saying, “It’s just an accepted part of the bureaucracy. But the reality is, this is exploitation, and it has to stop.”

In what POSSIBLE universe could the trafficking of children be considered an "accepted part of the bureaucracy?"

One of my favorite GPrime comics is of the little boy asking his mom about his siblings, her telling him he's her one and only, and him correcting her, because he talks with them, and they want to know why she didn't want them.

The game that went out of its way to emasculate Peter and make Mary Jane ugly and overpowered didn't do well? Imagine my surprise!

"You won't question the history books if we pre-emptively make it ILLEGAL to question them!"

Boy, if there was ever proof that the Left's grasp of human nature is completely inverted....

I liked Spark 3. I felt like it was a solid evolution of what Sega gave up on trying to do with the Adventure games.

When they got rid of Amy's crush on Sonic, they got rid of her entire reason for being. It was a genuinely funny bit for Sonic to be this smug badass who takes on robot armies with a grin, but completely loses his composure when confronted with a demented fangirl who won't take no for an answer.

But now she's not allowed to be an obnoxious cling-on. She's not allowed to be a passionate and driven fan who pushes herself beyond her limits to impress her hero. She's not even allowed to have a passing romantic interest in said hero. She's just girl Sonic. With a hammer and tarot cards for some reason. It's just depressing.

I saw something recently about troglodytes getting mad that someone drew Marina with slightly lighter skin, and the artist was not having it. Did something change?

Really, Marina being an octopus (And former enemy combatant.) in a squid city was her true minority status. Skin color kind of pales, pun not intended, compared to "I used to help build superweapons to steal your power supply. Sorry about that."

It does subversion well. It sets up common tropes that you'd expect to see in a fairy tale and turns them on their head in clever and satisfying ways. As opposed to the common: "You're stupid and bad for expecting reasonable and understandable returns for our setups!"
