GRRM will never finish asoiaf. He's done a few things that have screwed himself. Most notable is that the characters are too young for him to execute the ending he wanted. He plotted out that the series would take longer and let the characters age into adults, but then he wrote a book that covers like 3 months. He's also laid out too many series plotlines and made the promise that most of them will resolve together in an ending. We saw that ending in the show, it was underwhelming and awkward.

So GRRM is in an impossible situation. He can't stretch the series out more, it would just make more problems. And he can't end it like the show did, which included almost every core element he wanted in his ending. So he just wants to milk it until he dies.

Part of what you are missing is that Momonga is two entities merging and his human impulses are losing. It's more noticable in the light novel, but basically the Overlord physicality is overriding his human soul. And eventually Momonga will have no emotions. He will fully transcend his mask.

I really like your position, it's certainly a solid position for veterans.

One of my thoughts is to identify as mixed race. As ethnically White Americans are a mix of European descent. And being "mixed" puts someone in a position to gain the benefits they would deny white Americans (university admissions, job interviews...). If they ask what mix of ethnic groups responding with "I am not helping you be racist against me." immediately puts them in an unwinnable position.

"Motherfucker" is an actual pronoun that functions linguistically correctly, unlike most of these fake pronouns that are not understandable at a glance who you are talking about.

I highly encourage any student to use crass terms: Motherfucker, asshole, son of a bitch, fucker, cunt, bastard. They all work. Black boys should use nigga and argue that nigga is the pronoun of black cultural identity. "Boy" would also be good to make a teacher sound like a racist 19th century slave owner.

The correct response is "So Star Trek doesn't have any problematic aspects to it?" Then they say "Yes" and you pull up Star Trek's many men are from mars women are from venus type episodes. If they say "No", you get to respond with then it's not woke. Because something can't be woke and problematic in their ideology and they know that.

You can do this with any fandom. D&D -> Drow femdom society. X-men -> Xavier creeping on teen girls. Deadpool -> Almost everything. The Punisher -> almost everything. Captain America -> Pro-war nationalism. Superman -> American exceptionalism. Wonder Woman -> bondage is her weakness. Star Wars -> Racism and Slave Leia. Doctor Who -> Patriarchy. Harry Potter -> Women are Women, Hermione is white.

I have my issues with 4th, but I respect it for what it does well and many of the core design ideas it has. It's really solid in many ways, I just really how option starved I ended up in games. I also know 5e is not good, it's just easy. And 3.5/PF1 aren't great either. I'm preparing to switch permanently to anything but DnD.

I just am disappointed that DnD podcasts haven't been able to come close to 4e AI. They really make basically everything else unwatchable.

This might be a classic case of the school district just deciding to shoot their own foot. The principals they are using are uncomfortable families, drama and celebrating love. Literally all of those apply to pride, I could see an aggressive mother getting all pride stuff banned at least in elementary school. Or at least twist them into saying that pride is not about love, but sexuality. And that will go over wonderfully in the headlines. While I'm not happy about this, I could easily see this spiral out of control and backfire.

It sucks that the best DnD podcast was AI in 4th edition. It basically peaked when Pat replacing Wil. Nothing really compares to it and I'm honestly embarrassed by the following of Critical Role and the other big ones. Mainly because the actual gameplay execution is so sloppy and scripted.

I suspect that these moderators are heavily responsible for reduced engagement across the whole site. Enough that they likely know more people leave their domains quicker and with fewer clicks than on non-powermod forums. And after they lost wave after wave of users that were creating content and other subforums are becoming harder to artificially inflate to all.

And they might also be eyeing a porn ban and knowing that these powermods are degenerate pervert they don't care. This might literally play into their plans to remove these advertiser repellent forums and break the powermod stranglehold. If they are doing it right, they will likely softly and quietly suffocate the most extreme porn forums first and work their way up to the major gonewild subs.

Didn't Biden caused Saigon by obstructing the exit in Vietnam. So this is his second Saigon.

Calling Kyle a murderer is so fucking stupid.

First off he didn't shoot first. There was another man that shot first on video. And in many parts of the country there is a legal doctrine that makes a person starting a violent crime responsible for all crimes connected to it. So in that case both alleged murders would be blamed squarely on that rioter.

Now let's ignore that. Let's just go back to Kyle did not shoot first. So we have 2 men. One shoots in Kyle's general area and one actively chasing Kyle. From Kyle's perspective those two things must be related. And on video it is clear they are related. So Kyle returns fire, returning fire automatically puts this into self-defense. Then we have additional shots fired after fired from a 3rd person. In no viewing of these circumstances can Kyle be expected to not feel under threat of lethal bodily harm. In addition those shooters give Kyle an immediate reason to leave the area, which he does.

If we go further back in time. Kyle puts out a fire at a fucking gas station. A Gas station catching fire likely would have killed or injured several people, possible even Kyle. Again justified self-defense against the people trying to blow up a gas station. Yet Kyle ran from them.

If we go beyond the first death. We go into the lynch mob chasing down a hispanic boy to kill him before he can make it to the police. A group of mostly white people chasing a non-white boy to beat and murder him in the street. That was the purpose, they had no intention of turning him over to the police. They had no intention of having him stand trial. He is knocked to the ground and attacked by multiple people, yet he doesn't just fire at any possible threat. He only fires at the last possible moment for immediate danger. Killing one attacker and disarming one attacker. The disarmed one openly admitting he intended to murder Kyle in the street. With his illegally possessed pistol that he brought to the riot. Things people also miss about this video, there are multiple gunshots in the distance.

At no point is it morally, ethically or legally anything but Kyle justifiably defending himself.

He might have broken some minor firearm law. A law that Kyle has a serious chance of overturning on 2nd amendment grounds. But Kyle did not commit a violent crime.

What happened is that the BLM crowd was already so angry that any opposition deserves death in their view. They would have laughed if Kyle was executed in the street and called him hispanic racial slurs in his death. They would have done that if Kyle didn't kill or harm anyone.

Stochastic Terrorism. The concept that you don't need to train terrorists, because using media, social movements and other tools you can steer the mentally unhinged to be terrorists without any direct interaction. You just yell into the void of society until results start to bubble up.

Just repeat "Orange man bad" and "Someone should get rid of Trump" enough times and suddenly they show up at the white house armed trying to kill him.

BaconLT 47 points ago +47 / -0

It honestly shouldn't be possible for the democrats to win this election. Trump likely has picked up a huge chunk of the Hispanic vote, because of this year and Biden's complete taking for granted the Hispanic vote. This is like a 20 million vote swing from Biden to Trump.

The reasons Hispanics will vote Trump.

  1. Lockdown crippled the Hispanic community and Biden wants to double down on it.
  2. The Left attacked a Hispanic owned company for being happy about Trump helping Hispanic owned companies during the pandemic.
  3. BLM riots raised racial tensions between Blacks and Hispanics. Biden also doubled down on more protests and riots in the debates.
  4. A Hispanic boy named Kyle that BLM rioters tried to lynch. And the left is bloodthirsty to kill him.

The truth is Biden isn't just a D. He's the media's D.

Biden earned the media's worship by getting the DMCA passed and being their number 1 lobbyist for years. Any reporter that tries to do a hit piece will be blackballed by the industry. Particularly when the bought and paid for lobbyist could be the next president and get DMCA 2: Electronic Boogaloo passed.

No, it's the Glorious Lead and the communist party or a vote against.

9
BaconLT 9 points ago +9 / -0

Feel free to spread this. It's not really my idea, but a fact about why all true democracies adopted secret ballots. And then you have the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, where two election officials watch you sign your name that you are not voting for the glorious leader.

18
BaconLT 18 points ago +18 / -0

Mail in ballots are honestly always a problem, because they aren't really secret ballots. And secret ballots are essential to democracy. Opt in mail in ballots aren't the worst because you can hide that you got a ballot, so you can keep it secret.

But with everyone getting a ballot in the mail that causes problems. Now we know everyone has a ballot. So voter intimidation and vote buying are now potentially very influential this election. Now no one is going to intimidate or buy someone like President Trump's vote, or really any wealthy elite member of society. But poor and vulnerable members of society are at high risk of being disenfranchised. Because if you are broke, $20 for your vote is very tempting. And if say you are an elderly nursing home patient how can you really deal with say your nurse telling you how to vote. Then there are the family members. A college student might find parents telling them to vote X or be cut off. Or an older family member is being told to vote Y by children or grandchildren or risk being disowned.

And these actions fly under police radar and police action. Because people aren't going to get a stranger arrested for just saying they will buy your vote. And most people won't call the police on family members over a "family disagreement". To say nothing about the conflict of interest between local politicians ballot harvesting for their own votes. The DA isn't going to press charges on their own political party's ballot harvesters.

Trump will almost certainly "win" election night. Which will result in extreme left members of Antifa and other organizations to attack "Trump voters". While talking about the election not being over because mail in votes aren't in. But that spike in violence will destroy the support for counting mail in votes.

If cultural appropriation existed. White girls doing Yoga would be the worst offenders.

The simple fact is that cultural appropriation is the resentment of mixed race people and 2nd or 3rd generation immigrants in a western country. It does not reflect on the actual experience of a person, but on the perception of what experience is correct [sic] for a person.

It's segregation. It's a proxy to overtly be racist, because of an inability to culturally assimilate or a disassociation from one's family. And it becomes more extreme as diversity increases, because the lack of a singular culture to assimilate into and larger enclaves of foreign cultures creates more intercultural conflict.

Rape Culture, a term created to document the prison reality in the US then used to talk about university sexual assaults. Prison rape being common, mocked and ignored, while University rape being incredibly rare, taken incredibly seriously and given every second of TV reporting it wants.

US government study that concludes that diverse communities are more violent. That children growing up in a diverse community will witness more violence and experience more violence. This is why White flight exists.

I find it amazing that people think he is a whale on a wrestling phone game that he dumps thousands of dollars into. And that it's a very strong argument. Still have no clue how his trainwreck of a legal motion saved his butt.

I normally would have just called this one a LARP too. But who armed this group? Most of the other events with armed black protesters the guns lack sights and other aspects that make the rifles look awkward. And people that clearly look non-black and give off a light green glow under black-light. This group has better kits by the look of it.

If this is actually a grass roots movement that is a very uncomfortable step towards a race war. I actually won't be surprised if a lot a black vets are in it.
