Yup, and unless you join in the insanity, they'll call you racist too!

I'm guessing the board is simply doing a spinal-reflex "Iger, line go up, Chapek, line go down" level of reaction.

Ahh, yes, medieval Japan, a nation known for being hospitable to foreigners...?

Some emergency contractors are going to have to come in asap just to cut cheques

"Oh, no!! Who could we possibly find to hit the 'Print' button in SAGE?"

I really think they should think this through. If they get rid of every white character, who are they going to humiliate and thereby make themselves palatable to the media?

I suspect the main issue is that he doesn't want to take those self-landing-rocket software engineer and waste them on Twitter - it'd be much easier for him if Twitter staff could just stop being entitled whiny princesses.

Of course, that assumes that "stopping being whiny entitled princesses" is something that they are capable of.

To be fair, his ideology probably isn't quite yet, because it seems to be an in-your-face call to dismantle civilisation to accommodate his moral posturing.

Give it a couple of years...

I suspect they'll wait long enough to be able to re-write history then let them back in for "standing against injustice" or some similar horseshit.

I suspect one thing that helps, on the Discord i help moderate (yes, I know) is the conscious and total absence of an NSFW channel and any such content in general.

Seems to help keep away people who's sole definable personality trait is their sexuality.

As far as they - or anybody they've ideologically captured - are concerned, laws and rules do not apply to them; they're trans!

Stance on anime?

"Fetch the flamer, brother. The HEAVY flamer!"

jk, jk - you have to say that when someone talks anime. It's the law...

This woman should be careful, for fear of what is said at her eulogy ... assuming she has any family around to give one.

So, rather than fix the economic issues, let's just kill all the poor people.

I mean, I know who Castreau's dad is, but still...

For the stuff related to the trial, I kinda agree - not that it's right, just that it would be difficult.

But there were many people slandering him prior to this, and, well, his case is as good as Sandmann's on that score, surely?

Elected officials accountable to their electorates?

It'll never catch on!

More seriously, I suspect about the only way to overcome this insistence on re-defining reality to gloss over any ideological failings the left has will only be overcome by authoritative judgements on the facts of the matter.

Such as occurs in a court case. It needs to happen to show the world that the US aspires to be more than the richest banana republic in history.

We'll get right on that, just as soon as CNN delivers the goods on the required magical bullshit infrastructure...

Laid off from Twitter on a Saturday evening. No explanation, just all access removed.

I believe the phrase is:

It's a private company, they can do what they want

Also means that it helps cloud what may be overtly political moderators - if it's contractors it's that much harder to make accountable.

APDSmith 15 points ago +15 / -0

... ok, three points:

  • This is why you hire contractors. The sacking process is pretty much the phone call to tell you that you're not working tomorrow
  • This is why contractors charge contractor rates - it's to build in security around that very eventuality.
  • Given that, and the stated focus of the new owner, how is this a surprise at all?

You're far more optimistic than I am. I really think they're going to enthrone Pelosi again.

I suspect this will be the case too: dems will be looking to teach a lesson about who the power belongs to, and the best way to do that is to flaunt it in an arbitrary and capricious manner to hammer home that it is only about power

I'll laugh if he's left because he simply cannot be party to seeing Democrat politicians fact-checked.

But that was one of their guys, so they're just fine with that...

As far as she's concerned, it is

To quote Machiavelli: "It is better to be feared than to be loved, if one cannot be both."
