It hasn’t, except that I occasionally hear sob stories from my coastal urban elite social circle about how our mutual acquaintance Angry Lesbian Suzy Dipshit got furloughed from her job as an EEOC lawyer and is really down in the dumps and could lose her insurance.
These idiots thought they’d have taxpayer-funded jobs and benefits for life. Lol boo hoo. Learn to code, dipshit.
Serious question: was there at some point an actual, admirable mission the EEOC was pursuing? I feel like there was for ACLU, but now they’re a bunch of gay retarded communists. Just not that familiar with the history of the EEOC.
Either way, I’m glad this lady I know is out of work.
Yes. The EEOC is supposed to protect against age, and disability discrimination as well as it is known stereotype. That means everyone. Because everyone can get sick, and hopefully we all get old. Remember when the NLRB board member got fired? She sued for her job back, bit she wasn't doing her job. Her reason was they didn't have enough money to work. So, they did nothing? Currently, The Satanic Temple is doing the job of the ACLU at the very least.
The last time I looked at ACLU's website it was because someone was pointing out that all the attorneys were being / had been replaced with transgender specialists. Statistically a tiny proportion of the country now has the entire workforce of the ACLU. So, who helps anyone else? That's what happened to all these agencies. That's why they became worthless.
Gas is down and food is down so life has gotten easier. I see letters and diatribes every day about how the world is about to end and people will die, but even in my super redneck part of town we haven't seen anything new. The cockroaches, literal, have destroyed another dryer, so we are hanging clothes on the porch. But that's not a shutdown problem.
I think all the threats and comments are based on the idea of a society that lives off luxury and not necessity. A McDonald's run is a luxury, but if has is high, food is high, and work is long, McDonald's becomes an answer. If food is low and I am paid well enough, a long with gas being low, then food from the grocery store works because I have time to cook.
The Democrats want everyone to live the life of luxury and get all those extra trincates that may not matter. A PS5 was cheaper a year ago, therefore the economy must be bad. But my actual bills and life are lower, so I am happier.
While that's always a great idea, have you tried, as an in-the-meantime intermediary, putting down those slow-acting poison baits that kill them when they go back to the nest and linger in the corpse, so that the other roaches that cannibalize the dead ones also die?
That stuff, especially in quantity, can absolutely wreck even established nests.
Yes, we have several out, and have a guy come by once a month to spray and leave traps. I live in a swamp in Florida. There is a limit to what we can do.
I'm retired military, and get government check, but the appropriation that pays for it was passed last year by Congress, so I'm good. Apparently, funds for VA and retirement pay are appropriated by Congress a year in advance, so a shutdown doesn't turn them off.
I did go to the grocery store a couple of days ago, and loaded up on groceries, in case the dindu leeches decide to make good on their threats to loot stores. My local regional grocery store has a lot of ethnic foods in it, asian and hispanic, so it gets lots of illegals (I'm in WA) that use EBT cards.
It will be interesting to see what happens next week when those cards don't work...
Correct answer. I can’t imagine the GOP have the stones to keep this going through the deadline for EBT. They’re going to cut a deal, probably for most of what the dems want.
I hope it doesn’t happen, though. People need to wake up to the communism that has taken over this country. Way too many generational parasites feeding at the bloated government trough, and that includes all of our politicians, government workers, and welfare recipients.
It would be fun to learn what percentage of the population will resort to looting versus simply trying to get a job.
When the last few episodes of shutdown theater happened I was following the news daily because I was under the impression it mattered. Now I just hope the shutdown continues long enough that everyone gets fired.
The military and I guess Border Patrol/ICE are the only institutions I care about, but it seems like Trump secured an outside line of cash for the military at least.
Some of my family are furloughed. I can tell it bothers them, as it should. I don't wish that they suffer but I told them not to trust their lives so much on these systems.
I hope they use this to rethink their priorities and get closer to family.
Has not affected me. Someone I work with was in the process of buying a house but cannot get the loan finalized because the govt agency (dept of agriculture? I think for first time buyers) is unable to process the loan. So they're stuck with an agreement to purchase the house but cannot move forward.
You're probably thinking of FHA (Federal Housing Administration) loans. Personally, I don't like them because you're stuck with mortgage insurance until it's fully paid off, unlike a conventional loan where it falls off at 20% equity.
Not affecting me at all because I'm not a fucking fedboy. Fuck the people who work for the government. They get paid a lot and have insane benefits. Guess you should have saved your money and not lived beyond your means
The stock market has hit record highs. My investments are doing great. I get to listen to libtards cry about how society is one day away from collapsing for the last 2 weeks. All in all, pretty good, 10/10 would reccomend.
If you need to complain about anything the regulatory agencies have phone lines up, but no personnel working the phone lines. I decided I was mad enough to write a sticky note to complain when they're up.
A lot more jewelry heists in the Louvre for some reason.
Crooks gotta keep busy.
those poor algerians need to feed dey keedz

EEOC hasn't been doing it's job for years. Same with NLRB, and the ACLU.

Other than protecting any minority against Whites, no.
Lol ironically this has also affected me but in the private sector
It needs to be shut down for decades.
Excited for the EBT shutdown.

You gotta figure out where the roaches are coming from. It's not healthy to let them skitter about your home.
We are looking into moving somewhere else.

Keep us updated. Interesting to hear how that dynamic plays out...
bbbbbbbbbbut they said illegals don't get benefits
Grocery shopping has gotten more pleasant. Like for some reason all the dregs aren't there ruining everyone's experience lately.
There seems to be a lot less internet trolls and shills recently so that part is nice
I think that's from USAID being formally shut down.
I dunno, there are some frequent posters here that mysteriously disappeared after the shutdown.
I couldn't tell you who vanished, there's always a steady stream of ESL Fuentes guys who sound and think in completely identical ways.
Enjoying lots of hilarious "me and muh babies gonna starve" videos on twatter by morbidly obese women.
...
That's about it.
You turn them into diesel, gas prices are gonna go back to cents to the gallon.
Ask this next month when the Nigs stop getting their gibs.
At least the illegals might go home.

That makes more sense than Dept of Agriculture

nope

Not one little bit. If it weren't for other people griefing over it, I wouldn't even know.
Directly, or indirectly? I'm in the shit zone where I'm gonna feel something regardless. Misery truly does love company I guess.
I've been stocking up for the coming chimpout
It's shut down?
It hasn't.
