Gas is down and food is down so life has gotten easier. I see letters and diatribes every day about how the world is about to end and people will die, but even in my super redneck part of town we haven't seen anything new. The cockroaches, literal, have destroyed another dryer, so we are hanging clothes on the porch. But that's not a shutdown problem.
I think all the threats and comments are based on the idea of a society that lives off luxury and not necessity. A McDonald's run is a luxury, but if has is high, food is high, and work is long, McDonald's becomes an answer. If food is low and I am paid well enough, a long with gas being low, then food from the grocery store works because I have time to cook.
The Democrats want everyone to live the life of luxury and get all those extra trincates that may not matter. A PS5 was cheaper a year ago, therefore the economy must be bad. But my actual bills and life are lower, so I am happier.
You gotta figure out where the roaches are coming from. It's not healthy to let them skitter about your home.
We are looking into moving somewhere else.
While that's always a great idea, have you tried, as an in-the-meantime intermediary, putting down those slow-acting poison baits that kill them when they go back to the nest and linger in the corpse, so that the other roaches that cannibalize the dead ones also die?
That stuff, especially in quantity, can absolutely wreck even established nests.
Yes, we have several out, and have a guy come by once a month to spray and leave traps. I live in a swamp in Florida. There is a limit to what we can do.
