I find it amazing that people actually believe that the Israel in the New Testament, refers to a country created 1900 or so years after (which mean all people reading the Bible before this point would have been incredibly confused as to 'who' Israel really is). No. I remember decades ago that popular conservative women bloggers in the mid-2000s made something of a “Glamor” calendar which featured them in beauty shots in suggestive poses.
They were giving these out for free at any Conservative event. I’m not a prude by any means, but I was aghast and never took women in senior leadership positions seriously ever again.
The people who talk about the prophecy like this come off as being insane to me. Putting aside the issues with various interpretations of the prophecy and the issues with equating biblical Israel to the modern state of Israel and so on and so forth... just assuming it is 100% "yes, God says that someday Israel the post-1948 nation will be invaded and collapse and that's when the end times will happen," that doesn't mean you have to try to bring it about! It's God's prophecy and God is never wrong so it will happen, but it will happen in its own time, right? As I understand it, the end times involve a lot of suffering and bloodshed and eternal damnation and the complete spiritual and moral collapse of most of the world (including Israel). If you really believe in it, shouldn't your reaction be "this thing is going to happen, and it will be awful, but those that make it through spiritually intact will receive eternal life, so I'm going to focus on preparing as many people as I can to succeed"?
Believers will be taken up to Heaven before the bad shit happens as part of rapture. This is called pre-tribulation, which is supported in the Bible. This is why it’s important to receive Jesus now rather than waiting later.
