Meanwhile Asia continues to build factories whose main production seems to be pollutants. But sure charge people on cruises more money for daring to take vacations
Hawaii is already an overpriced shithole with subhuman savage retards who hate mainlanders. The weather is ass half the time and a beer costs $20. Fuck you!
Granted, I've actually tried neither as I prefer cold places, but I could easily make up the difference in flight cost in other costs and go to Thailand or Vietnam. I'd probably like it better too, and Hawaii is still far enough away to be just as much pain in the ass for travel. For laying around lazy in a tropical setting? I can be in Mexico, Belize, some other Caribbean shithole, etc. in a few hours. I really like to travel, but I just don't see what Hawaii has to offer.
Same. I live in a humid hellhole. I wish I wasn't such an introverted schmuck who was afraid of change lol, I'd flee for Wyoming or Montana in an instant
I prefer Arizona, myself. Wide range of environments, dry heat in the summer, cold in the winter, and it's nearby to a bunch of other nice spots to visit.
I've lived in Hawaii. The locals hating the tourists is real, but the stories of tourists walking into people's houses and demanding to be treated nice are also true. Everything is priced for tourists. When I lived there, a gallon of milk was $5. This was 15 years ago. It's now $10-$15.
Having jobs and industry outside of the big three could really get people out of the slums, but the big three demand things stay the same. Tourism, shipping, and military. Fruit used to be big, and still is in some areas, but is waning. That's ironic if you know Hawaiian history.
Big companies have started in Hawaii. SeGa for example used to be Service Games. But, most of them moved out or became part of tourism or military.
There is a huge amount of people moving out of the island and being replaced by millionaires and billionaires. The same people changing Seattle or Austin. Then they claim to be local, but don't know Matsumomos or Foodland or why 7/11 so hot.
Then you have the state that uses all of that to keep power. They promote 'Green' in the same way as Seattle or Portland. The majority of people are on some kind of government help. Both parents work to make enough to pay rent.
It's sad to watch, because the actual Hawaii is still there, but disguised by so many liars. The same thing in my home of the PNW.
As a non American I'm still constantly amazed that I forgot Hawaii even exists. Out of all the US states it's at the very bottom of my "want to visit" list.
Good luck with that, island.

Asians are the ultimate consumers. Just horribly addicted to quickly-discarded plastic novelties. (not that some westerners aren't)

Another reason to never go to Hawaii.

I thought I was the only one. I want to try Iceland myself.

You don't need a passport to travel to Hawaii and people speak English (maybe). That's about it.
Why not Florida anyway.
so they just raised their tourism taxes?
This sounds more like a hotel/VAT tax.
But I always thought it was bullshit when some countries charged you a departure tax in order to leave.
How to kill your state's only major industry in one easy step.
This is just to keep the poor people away.
Good. Fuck Hawaii. We should be putting more manufacturing and shipping infrastructure there anyway.
