even if your goal was to undermine the west, you'd want people to actually watch your propaganda. the problem is these people are so dedicated to pushing their message, they let the story take the backburner, and the product suffers as a result.
I can think of heavily propagandistic movies (the OG Robocop, starship troopers, Black Panther, etc) that still told an entertaining story, because they focused on the story and the performance above the agenda. Hell, i can remember even conpro cheering the movie going "that's what we want for white people!" (paraphrased).
ppropaganda doesn't work if the target of that propaganda doesn't show up.
But then the woke realized the BBC is literally the utopian future they always wanted:
SUBSIDISED creative writing jobs in air conditioned taxpayer-furnished offices where they can write whatever fanfic dreck they like, and have it produced and broadcast... and it literally doesn't matter if no one watches it, because your only job is raising awareness of societal injustices.
And the people literally get arrested if they don't pay for it:
This is similar to the Netflix business model. While it's not forced on the people like BBC, it does provide a means to subsidize woke propaganda with subscription revenue. Even if nobody actually consumes it there's still plenty of normal (and mostly older) content people are willing to pay to see.
This allows woke nonsense to be virtually immune to ratings, which gives the Marxists writing and producing it jobs they would have been fired from in an actual free market setting
Modern Doctor Who was propped up like 75% by horny women wanting to fuck the Doctor and self-insert as his companion.
Once the Doctor stopped being a hot British guy with charisma, and the companions got uglier and less easy to insert into, it was doomed to fail no matter what.
The Woke writing was just a final nail as those facts sealed its doom.
Which is why so many hated Clara because that's literally what the character ended up being, but because it wasn't any of their self-inserts jealousy turned them against Clara.
D+ gave Badwolf 200 million US$ for two seasons of Doctor who, which included licensing of the catalog.
It was a spectacularly poor investment. The two series made by Russel T Davies have been very poorly received and have generated no new subscriptions for D+.
D+ won't share their viewer numbers, because they are shockingly low. Like, shareholders have grounds for a class action lawsuit low.
So I think those are just the British domestic numbers.
Doesn't the BBC go by surveys of holders of "TV licenses" or something rather than ratings?
So if one person watches 10 shows, and another only watches 1, they both only get a vote to keep X shows.
So as long as there are enough holders who care more about nonsense than quality entertainment, the show will continue.
Of course, (I just looked it up, may not have tried hard enough) the surveys appear to be unreleased and anonymous, so the higher ups can more or less make it up.
And then the movie with Paul Mcgann didn’t gather enough interest. I enjoyed it. I hate that they didn’t let Mcgann be the doctor when they rebooted the series in 05 or at least let him do a regeneration scene. I refuse to watch any Dr Who after Capaldi first season.
When you realize the goal was to make money back then, and the goal now is to destroy the west, things make more sense.

I regret that I don't stockpile TV license letters because if I did, I'd have enough to make wallpaper in my bedroom by now.

And yes, they know, and it's deliberate.

It really is, though. I was genuinely surprised so many would tune in to this garbage.
I wonder what counts as a “viewer”? If someone watches one episode or less does it count? I’m sure it does
My bet is most of them forgot the telly on or are old people with dementia who saw "Dr. Who" in the TV guide.
I wonder how many sit there wondering when Dr Who will come on while this shit is playing.
I'm guessing those are the British domestic numbers? Is Disney Plus adding more numbers?

I can't believe anyone watches this garbage?
That was a captive audience too back when the UK slaves were on like 6 channels
WWE Raw got far fewer viewers than five million.
So Netflix gave them a five billion dollar ten-year contract.

Doctor Who Statistics (Avg viewership per episode):

Taking into account the higher population now vs then, these numbers are even worse.
