SUBSIDISED creative writing jobs in air conditioned taxpayer-furnished offices where they can write whatever fanfic dreck they like, and have it produced and broadcast... and it literally doesn't matter if no one watches it, because your only job is raising awareness of societal injustices.

I regret that I don't stockpile TV license letters because if I did, I'd have enough to make wallpaper in my bedroom by now.
This is similar to the Netflix business model. While it's not forced on the people like BBC, it does provide a means to subsidize woke propaganda with subscription revenue. Even if nobody actually consumes it there's still plenty of normal (and mostly older) content people are willing to pay to see.
This allows woke nonsense to be virtually immune to ratings, which gives the Marxists writing and producing it jobs they would have been fired from in an actual free market setting
