I can't tell you how many people, including members of my own family, who I've pissed off by saying that women should be no where near the military (or police and firefighters for that matter). War is the province of men, and those who challenge that will be the first to find out.
My city was one of the first to have female firefighters. They had to pass the exact same tests as the men & do the exact same job. No worries.
Dropping standards? A big no. Nay, never.
I remember long ago the entire firefighter force of a big US city (San Fran?) said they'd quit because the Mayor (or governor?) announced one day that 10% of all firefighters being female was their goal. Of course it still happened eventually, just in underhanded, treacherous ways.
White recruitment is down. Hispanic recruitment is at record highs. IIRC, this is per capita. I suspect a lot of the Hispanics are illegal. They also lowered fitness and intelligence standards.
I recall reading that years back too. It probably started under Obama? Maybe even as far back as Clinton?
It kind of makes sense, a minor blotch on your record possibly means you're a prime candidate to "straighten out your life" by voluntarily joining the military. It's still a "sentencing option" to this day. I knew a fellow who took service in the US Coast Guard over a short time in jail & he did just that. Required to serve 4 years, stayed for 6 :>

The people who should be most upset about this are the guys in the second row. She's making it look like they're staging a coup.
Women aren't the issue. The powers that reinforce that pageantry are the real issue. Shouldn't be used in combat though.
