The difference a day makes, I swear this drama has escalated quick in TWO days, he's put out a full tweet of it, I don't have X so someone else link it as I ain't making an account to that hellscape for this.
TLDR, he DID talk to a minor (hard on what age as that could be a 15 year old in the states but they live in France) back in 2017 but NO pictures were sent, NEVER met and it says it sometimes was inappropriate talk but that could've been the average gamer talk. Now he was banned in 2020 so they sat on this for 3 YEARS but Twitch settled a lawsuit he had with them and there was NO criminal charges at all for him.
So after the studio he founded kicked him out and a sponsor dropped him, other than be an idiot talking to a minor this is a nothing burger. It speaks WORSE on Twitch that they couldn't vet their internal messager given that Disrespect doesn't state if he KNEW at the time they were a minor and dropped talking to them when they found out.
And also speaks ill on all those saying "We knew about this for years" what that he was a fucking idiot for a basic mistake (why I mute everyone unless they're friends) or dod you think he was a pedo but sat on this waiting for blood in the water as that's even more disgusting.
If he was talking to a young boy and promoted Pride, then this wouldn't be a controversy. He would be praised and promoted all over.
Or discussing sending him bath tub estrogen
sounds like he was too popular and they wanted an excuse.
Him and NickMercs are hard nopers when it comes to faggotry. They snidely mock it without saying anything too obvious, but Doc did a bit of a skit about the pronoun nonsense in Starfield and mocked Bethesda and Pete Hines.
Plus, he uninstalled Call of Duty when Activision removed Nick's skin from the game after Nick told the groomers to stop targeting kids. He just showed a screen of him clicking "Uninstall" and saying "nope".
It's pretty obvious Doc leans right, and one of those talking heads on YouTube made a good point that it's election season in America and they don't want certain people influencing their audience a certain way. Using this nothing-burger to get Doc to stay silent and not influence his audience in any particular way makes a lot of sense from the Left's point of view.
As a streamer or youtuber, endless people message you or talk to you. Endless. 99.999% of the time you dont know who they are or their intentions or even how old. Most chats dont start out as "hi, btw how old are you??". Most of the time, age is implied like "oh, i havnt finished my algebra homework yet". Unless this guy was grooming someone, dont see a problem. If he just said.. meeting up at twitch con. Im sure lots of fans say they want to meet up. That is fine. Unless he says lets meet up at the hotel at twitch con or he sends dick pics, seems benign and nothing.
Also apparently the girl was 17. People are acting like he's a pedo for talking to a 17-year-old. There's a HUGE difference between a 17-year-old and a preteen or early teen girl. Dr was still dumb for pushing the line with a minor, but atleast she was almost legal. Lmao if he waited a few months it would be magically fine.
17?? Yea. Technically a few months she would be legal. Definitely a non issue. Is it weird? Probably. But yeah, nothing illegal or criminal in messaging a 17 year old if there is no grooming involved. And if he did talk dirty but cut off contact upon realizing the persons age, i see zero problem with that.
Holy shit fucking thank you. People on this board tend to go hard on the virtue signaling for this issue. Doesnt help that we had many bouts of troll posts promoting actual pedophilia recently. But it's very refreshing to see actual eloquent pushback against modernist bullshit. Saving that comment for reference later.
Well said. Of course, both the pedo spammers on this board and modern society writ large also provide an eloquent, if unintentional, argument for setting an age of consent and sticking to it like hell, even if it’s a little arbitrary, so I don’t mind it being at 18… but pretending you’re a creep if you acknowledge that the 16 or 17 year old is obviously, visibly post-pubescent and would likely have been married or looking to marry as little as a century ago is strange.
(For that matter, I believe the legal age of consent is 16 in more individual states than not, although I could be wrong and I don’t know how that interacts with the federal law).
In the US, the majority of States use 16 as the age of consent. She would not be a minor.
Its 18 in every state, dreamer
You should try a simple Google search before sounding stupid.
Its 18 in every state and 21 in puerto rico, kid dreamer
It's a simple Google search dumbass. You being unaware doesn't make you less of a danger to kids. It makes you ignorant.
17?? Too old for pajeet
The legal age of consent is 16 in most Western states/countries.
If the "minor" was 16+ I don't care.
Want to know something really weird that involves leap years, autism, and maths?
1 year = 365 days
18 years = 6570 days
Someone born on the 28th of Feb 2006 will be 6573 days old on the 27th of Feb 2024, but not yet considered 18. Because leap years are stupid.
It's even more strange when you go just a few days beyond that as 01/Mar/2006 to 01/Mar/2024 is 3575 days.
So the first example would end up with someone being 6574 days old when they were 18, and the second example someone would be a day older than that, but still having only just turned 18.
Because again, leap years are stupid!
That age is legal in quite a few places. In the US, only 11 states have the age of consent as 18. Even DC sets it at 16.
In a polarized low trust society, defamation laws need fangs.
Oh yeah, and then get everyone fined and jailed for merely questioning Biden's mental faculties. Because this is EXACTLY what will happen.
Except the onus would be on Biden to prove that anyone saying his faculties are diminished was lying, as truth is an absolute defense to defamation/libel.
And he has an endless supply of doctors, lawyers, and any "expert" he would need who'd be happy to sign off on that for him.
His explanation doesn't matter because his enemies will fixate on the single sentence "I did message a minor" and bellow about it forever. It's as bad as Kristi Noem bragging about killing her dog.
What content maker hasnt talked to a minor?
It's like a rite of passage at the moment.
I would've said: I never talked to any minors, that I knew of. If that were the case. If it was a 17 yr old, I would've just said I msged a 17 yr old deal with it. There are no charges because none of that is illegal.
One of the best reasons to have lawyers is so you can say "on the advice of my legal counsel, I have no comment". Of course, this also doesn't work when your enemies are deranged leftists (absolutely nothing works once the fixate and scream loop is active) but it does keep you from saying something that might actually cost you something.
This one's got my buddies revealing they were "believe all women" metoo retards the whole time, apparently.
I had to drop a personal text exchange of myself when I was in my early 20s with a girl that I had been "teetering on inappropriate" with for a few months. Her birthday came up and it's when I found out she was 16. Then you continue down the text chain and it's a literal full stop on communication for a solid YEAR before the slut texts me AGAIN at 1 something in the AM trying to solicit cock again. A year. So she's 17 now.
Bitches be like this. I'm sorry to all the men who can't realize this and also caution all men to be careful around thots of all types.
True but he said he didn't know. Don't interact with females and strangers on the internet period is a good rule too.
Honestly how ARE you supposed to know someone isn't even lying? "okay I need to see your ID to talk to you" yea, pretty much stops right there and never talking to females on the net seems reasonable. I'm also almost certain the "inappropriate" stuff being talked about was probably usual banter one would expect from someone like him.
Used to be a smaller youtuber myself when I was like maybe 18-20, had people in general want to talk to me but I never went through with that as I was socially awkward. Was probably for the better.
Hell, even if a girl lies about her age and uses a fake adult ID then the guy is STILL fucked.
Can't lie man. I used to absolutely card women under the age of 30 if I talked to them for a while or started getting somewhere, both online or real life. Like most things with women, you have to say it with flippance and confidence. Its easy to even spin into a compliment about how young they look.
If you aren't willing to make that conversation, then absolutely the only other one is never talking to them and I don't fault anyone for making that choice.
Last year when I moved into my new apartment two girls knocked on my door and gave me a drawing, they looked to be about 12. I asked them their names and thanked them very much. It seemed to me it was just a kind gesture by some innocent kids.
But if I started talking to them regularly because of them initiating that contact with me, when they are outside and playing around the area, it could put me in a very bad spot legally. It's really such a shame that society prohibits us from being nice to each other.
I make it a point to only greet them and say hello, although I always put in more effort to sound cheerful when it is them that I greet, since the world is so bleak already.
You don't need to register. Nitter still works: https://nitter.poast.org/DrDisrespect/status/1805668256088572089
And here's the archive to support that.
If he gets dragged for this, shouldn't Twitch get exposed for helping protect him?
Or if he wasn't aware it was a 17 year old, shouldn't Twitch get shit for letting one bypass their adult restrictions?
Being a masochist, I opened r/all again. r/livestreamfails. No upvoted comments about the incident likely being a nothingburger. 1/5 comments either about pedophilia, or the usual fence-sitting about optics comment thread that gets more engagement than the rest of the comment section. That website is has something wrong at the core.
Fence-sitting comments are always about how a thread is a dumpster-fire, when examination shows someone lit a cigarette 20 ft from the dumpster. That or a pretend-deep observation about public figure's actions look bad, veiled attempts to get others to think said person is bad. Ex: Ted Cruz staying on vacation a day into Texas's blackouts when being a federal legislator has little to do with that job. Nimrods thinking or saying Ted looked bad are why people have to waste time looking busy at their jobs.
He recognized Chris Hansen's car up the street and turned around before going into the house lol
The twitch employee who recently tweeted out a false accusation that doc was sexting a minor has done irrevocable harm to his character and business. Twitch should be sued into oblivion
Dr. DisRespect's Twitter response only confirms that the leaked Twitch ban rumors are true.
Without knowing the age of the user on the other end or the chat logs about what "inappropriate" things were said, there's still not enough here to make much of an informed judgment either way.
Barring another big leak, we'll probably never know.
Without it, this is just another gas ass whisper campaign.
Why not just say that out of the gate?
Doc really should have kep quiet about this since the internet is always hungry for drama. On the flip since. I filtered all my 'alternative' news sources since christ you fucks clickbait despite still no credible evidence.
Internet is too fucking retarded for my liking
I don't know who Dr Disrespect is, with no links it's hard to care and I'm not sure why this is here based on what is presented.
He's was a big streamer on Twitch now a big streamer on YouTube. The only reason is worth noting is that some of the 'usual actors' are involved in this cancellation attempt.
That and they're trying to use the tactic of calling him a predator/pedo than a metoo deal, which is worrying if that's a new tactic as that one's A LOT more volatile an accusation. Especially with the 'guilty until proven innocent' mentality of the Internet.
Thanks for the breakdown!
These types of accusations should go to the proper authorities which can investigate properly without trying to use peer pressure into getting a predetermined outcome.
Those who make these allegations and found to be incorrect in their doing so should face legal penalties for the damages they inflict.
That would limit the amount of allegations to ones which can hopefully be proven and save innocent people from opportunistic predators - of any kind.
They did go to the authorities 4 years ago and no criminal actions were found. That's where the debate ended for me personally but people either are acting like that's nothing or that the fact "his" company dropped him is more damning.
Idiots on this board perpetually assume everyone is in an identical information bubble to them. It is infuriating.
Eh depends on how inappropriate. If it was racist memes inappropriate okay but anything sexual is a no go. Don't fall on yalls sword for him if that's the case
I don't think it was sexual because he took Twitch to court and got a settlement payout from them.
If ANY of the messages were sexual, I'd think Twitch would leverage that against paying him. Think this was just adult gamer banter as we all know how we would be tried in Internet court if OUR banter during games was published...
