YouTube screws The Quartering, Count Dankula, and Bearing. Unexpectedly
posted 2 years ago by Unknownsailor 2 years ago by Unknownsailor +62 / -0

Here is quartering bitching about it.

I grow extremely tired of content creators who keep acting surprised that YT would do this.

STOP USING THE SERVICES OF YOUR FUCKING ENEMIES YOU DIPSHITS!

Stop pretending like the answer is to simply roll over and yield ground to the enemy.

A dissident presence on Youtube is worth fighting for simply because Youtube is where the most eyeballs are. You fuck completely off into alt tech then you become irrelevant and your message doesn't propagate into the cultural consciousness.

If only you could somehow upload to two places at once. Styx is really good at this, use youtube to advertise for your other places.

Yes, this is the correct approach to the situation.

Doing exclusives on alt media like Styx is good also. Give people a positive reinforcement reason to migrate away from YouTube. Everybody who is on both, I stop following on YouTube to support the alternative.

I'd go one step further and de-incentivise watching any uploads on YouTube by providing uncensored versions on other platforms. Creators should stop tripping over their words or trying to get around them by saying childish shit like "unaliving" or "sewer slide" or some other inane bullshit, and just start including obnoxious censors with a little annotation reminding people that they can freely get the uncensored version on any other site they upload to.

You want to stop YouTube being the defacto? Help them continue to provide an ever expanding worse experience than any other platform.

Youtube needs to be regulated and made into a search engine for videos already, that's just a pipedream though.

Hard disagree. YouTube should simply be gone and someone else should make such a platform. You're under this idea that a company that hates you can arbitrarily be reformed. Won't ever happen.

It's a double edged sword. The issue is that these people don't really spend enough energy to push those other platforms while staying on YouTube. They should absolutely diversify where they upload and what would be best is if they started releasing as uncensored as possible videos on other platforms, with YouTube getting the inferior, sub-par censored version.

Until other platforms are given the attention they need to grow to rival YouTube, or god forbid, we actually get a proper competitive space again with multiple rivals, this is the only way forward. Start playing dirty and kneecap any reason to watch on YouTube without stopping the use of their platform.

They should also be held to account for breaking contracts and laws should be dealt with.

Quarterpounder and YellowFlush are some of the most low-effort youtubers. I can't take their insipid opinions or terrible voices. They've both been at it for 10+ years and haven't learned how to be entertaining. It's all just low IQ gargling. Quartering has been milking this 'my channel is under attack' garbage since 2018

Isn't generating this kind of mindless content to fill people's forever-feeds exactly what YT wants them to do?

It's the podcast equivalent of forum-sliding, when you think about it.

I think the FlashCast is kind of fun for the first 45 minutes. Especially the 30 minute long intro clip show.

I think the low-effort commentary wave is gonna come to an end soon. These guys are going to start to lose way more subs than they are gaining. Some of them will figure out a new angle to tap into new parts of the algo, but that's just prolonging things. We're gonna move into an era where people want more polished videos and more in-depth discussion/debates. Not uninvested guy reads headline and slobs out same 10 words he always does.

Plus, YouTube is gonna start cracking down on shit hard as election ramps up, meaning a lot of these pundits are going to suddenly have even safer and non-commital opinions, with way more fluff words to not trigger auto-muzzle. I try to watch more content on Rumble, but it's hard to find stuff that isn't just mirrored from YouTube, or anything outside of politics really.

Eh, Tim gets some good guests sometimes. And on rare occasions he even lets them speak.

Don Jr. on Timcast was great.

I've unsubbed from every low-effort channel. Even if I agree with their pundit takes. I'll stick around if they have good livestreams, info/edits, or talent, like a lot of the comicsgate guys, but I'm done with the endless churn of stumbling and rambling out the same tired takes.

That's my issue with Jeremy. I don't dislike him, but he doesn't even seem to review his source material before commenting on it. As if he sees a headline he likes, then goes live to read for the first time.

If he has not figured out that YT censors whenever they want, for whatever reason they want

Obviously the censorship is old hat to most of us (and I would assume quartering), but there will always be a few viewers for which this is completely new.
What would be constructive would be to 'professionally' present youtube's inconsistency to the audience. Get good evidence. Don't get hyperbolic/defeatist. Nobody can bear endless whining.

The problem is, the 'alternatives' aren't competition for YouTube, they simply rely on people getting banned or using it to publish their spicier material.

YouTube has most of the viewership and the alternatives haven't made an interface good enough to have as much discoverability as a new content creator as YouTube so they start on YouTube to gain a following.

youtube has no real alternatives since either bitc and rumb are too political for the normie, and odysee is just youtube lite.

You want to attract normies, don't scare them with politics. And then there's bilibili if you're too lazy to pirate your chinese cartoons

True, no alternatives. Social media sites attack it from a different angle. And other sites may have more clout at this point.

Youtube used to have alternatives back in the late 00s. They all had one single thing that set them apart too.

Being able to directly download the videos you were watching. It was a godsend for anime, and kept Crunchyroll a joke like it should have stayed, as well as original music uploaded to it.

Came for this; all of these guys likely post on multiple other sites, but Youtube is by far the biggest, therefore pays more.

At least with the quartering he was a big proponent of Rumble and has been using them for his show for a long time, he even helped out crowder when they made the switch to rumble from blaze as well.

Riling up their audience to be a pain in the ass for the big social media sites might be tedious for you, but it's part of how we fight back. It's fine if you find this whole thing tedious - and you can simply choose to not watch these channels - but somebody's gotta be a constant pain in the enemy's ass, so that the enemy has to hide their power levels.

Not many people have the patience to keep up with counter-karening the left's professional karens, and again, that's fine, but quit attacking those on your own side who actually do have patience.

It's apparently only one of his other channels. And yeah, it's 2024 and an election year. Of course, Big Tech (read: Google), is going to clamp down on voices that are not aligned with the 'liberal-progressive' cause (read: DNC).
