Been annoyingly woke for a while, that "made by people of different faiths" line has been less to avoid the angry Muslims from the first game to quickly be a red flag.
The last game I got from them was Rainbow Six Seige and that went annoyingly woke and only got better when they KILLED the diversity hire in the in game story..

First it was meant to be reactivating due to a terrorist attack, recruiting a bunch of special operators around the world, then they switched who was in charge from Black woman trying her best Amanda Waller impression to Indian British guy who then had them in a spec ops Olympics?
Anyway new threat comes in, kills that guy and turns back to 'oh yeah we meant to be an anti terrorism force'
This woman is just blindly following orders so she deserves blame no doubt.

Black Flag was the last good AC game. Ubisoft had the opportunity to create a blockbuster by taking that game and removing the AC stuff and repackaging it as a pirate fantasy simulator, but that ship has long since sailed (pun intended).
I tried to play black flag, but it got to be such a grind fest that I just couldn't bring myself to finish it...
The fact that the only character I had any real interest in was killed one game earlier didn't really help, either..
That’s what Skull and Bones started as, right? And we all saw just recently how that turned out.
That was the original plan, but the game morphed into the abortion you see today. I played the open beta and just turn it off after about 30 minutes. There's nothing enjoyable about it.
Skull and Bones has very little to do with the gameplay of Black Flag. Literally the only serious similarity is the setting.
I would say AC Rogue was the last good one; had a good gameplay loop, combat was still trash since it was based on Black Flag, but the whale hunting was fun, the boss ships were cool, the ship unlocks were nice, and the story/side-quests were manageable instead of the grind that was in Black Flag.
Just wish they would have kept the combat system from AC3 and then I would have regularly gone back to play Rogue a lot more.
The guy who worked on the game earlier said it was totally different. I guess she is the one who changed it. If they wanted Yasuke in the game so bad they could’ve just made him someone you meet in the game. Having a Japanese male and female (assuming that is the standard) protagonist who are Japanese in a game set in feudal Japan is a slam dunk
It could've played like Syndicate too, which wasn't their best showing by any means but I did like the way they actually incorporated the female into the role by having her play style be different from her brother. It was cool to be able to tackle missions differently depending on who you picked.
Given the role of Kunoichi irl it would've been cool to play the male as a samurai and the Kunoichi as a classic assassin. I really appreciated the girl from the AC Liberation game, her ability to put on outfits and blend in as the help, or as an aristocrat.
Playing the Kunoichi and disguising as a geisha to poison a targets drink, or as a clothes washer to gain back entrance to an estate, things like that. Much more classic assassin gameplay.
And of course, play the samurai for the fast and loud segments.
Kunoichi's were primarily sex workers. They'd sex to spy. Anything else is largely fantasy, so in that sense, it is in line with Samurai Chimploo.
It didn't matter once when the gameplay was good, and the curves were enticing.
Are Asian people mad about this? You finally get to see feudal Japan represented in an assassins creed game and they disrespect you by focusing on a black dude in a suit of armor that never even really existed. What a slap to the face.
