It hasn't been since at least the modern era, or Tennant at the very least. The show was designed up to be aimed squarely at women and making them horny in every sense from that moment on.

Which is why girl doctor failed and why black gay doctor will likely do the same.

I also found Clara pretty hot.

Not everyone seems to agree, but for me, Clara >> later Amy (at least in looks).

Also less River Song, which for me sealed the deal. I really disliked that character, by the end, lol…

Yea, for all the noise they make, sexy women in media gives women the same sort of power fantasy as oiled buff dudes in jock straps give men (assuming it isn't overtly sexual). The first couple companions he had in the modern series played this role extremely well, but yes, they have once again completely misunderstood the point of the exercise by ditching that element.

The funny thing is they try to bring in Martha who was black and Captain Jack who's gay real life, in the show think he has FEW limits it's the reason we have the Harkness rule, to say that THEIR introduction caused backlash.

This, as someone who used to watch Doctor Who, I do not at all remember that, only a bit of trepidation with new characters just because they were new. But the main reason why was they were Characters FIRST not just diversity traits. Martha was a medical doctor first before she was black, Jack was a scoundrel first before anything to do with sex came up.

The reason why people had a reaction to the female doctor was because YOU pushed that more than what kind of Doctor she was, and now we got a gay fag (notice how I never call Jack this) going ON about his skin colour and sexuality, people know you can't write characters only charactures.

Jack was a scoundrel first before anything to do with sex came up.

Torchwood on the other hand made sure to remind the audience every chance it got how awful every single character in the show was.

Which was a shame as first season was promising since you had the darker show with Torchwood and the more child friendly show of Sarah Jane in the same universe.

The latter stopped when the main actor died irl and the former fissled out due to its writing. You can see how bad the writers were getting that if they wanted a female Doctor without the risks, you do realise there was an episode where the Doctor gets a cloned daughter and she's STILL alive...

the Doctor gets a cloned daughter

Tennent married her.

For a second I thought you meant in universe not IRL, I was going to say that is a REALLY dumb plot lol

Also Martha was attractive. That helped.

I found Martha’s mother excruciating, but that was more to do with her being a Karen, than her being black…

What’s the Harkness rule, lol?

Yeah I did find Martha one of the more attractive companions in Doctor who which did help, also her run was quite a lot darker compared to others what with the Angels, the living sun, the family of Blood then the Master straight up gemociding to the song Voodoo Child.

The Harkness test is one used by Jack to whether or not you can have sex with humans and non humans, it's these 3 criteria:

Does this character have human intelligence (or greater)?

”Can it talk or otherwise communicate with language?”

“Is it of maturity for its species?”

This is what seperates the furries from the zoophiles as according to the test most pokemon fail but Mass Effect aliens are fair game.

Ah, I see...

Similar concept in Star Wars, which I am more familiar with.

Although for some reason Star Wars uses panspermia (Humans and Mandalorians both originate on Coruscant), and the criteria is mostly "can they interbreed and produce fertile offspring", rather than any ethical concerns...

Obviously Trek tackled these things, too, but I feel like that is too complex for me to bother reading up on, lol. And it seemed to flip flop depending on the series/era, too.

But I admittedly had not heard of the Star Wars test. Makes sense, though.

I suppose we could add Battlestar Galactica to this discussion, except that in that instance they are cyborgs rather than aliens. Man do they ever bone a lot (in the new series, more so than the old one), though...

Good characterisation will always make undesirable traits less grating. That's what makes entertainment so effective at normalizing them.

Given that the BBC chose a flaming faggot to reboot a long running series, one which was already quite liberal in theme, I find it hard to believe this wasn't always the intention.

There hasn't been a show produced for white dudes since Murdoch Murdoch.

You would be wrong. Just like Game of Thrones and all the other TV shows that got hyped up, I couldn't have given less of a shit about it.

So while the haters continue shouting into the void about the identity of a fictional alien...

As usual, it matters enough to change it for their belief system, but it doesn't matter enough for you to be allowed to complain about it. 100% proof, every time, that it is an attack on you and what you enjoy.

"When Queer As Folk creator, Russell T Davies, brought Doctor Who back in 2005 it was clear from the get-go that this is a show for all the outcasts in society." That this writer can't fathom "outcasts in society" could include straight white males shows it was written from a place of vitriol and ignorance. That you applaud just proves you're a retard.

I know, imagine claiming black people and homos are outcasts in society. I guess she means English society but homos and blacks are worshipped there as well.

All they have is the oppression card even as they are winning

The last paragraph about the Imam is about as subtle as a brick to the head.

And tagging it as sarcasm takes all of the fun out of it.

Notice how they're deliberately trying to erase the words "man" and "men". First they started replacing it with "male"—a generic word that could refer to any member of the animal kingdom. Now it's "dude"—a person you aren't meant to take seriously. "Man" and "men" are words that have symbolic power. "I am a man" is a more powerful statement than "I am a dude." It why the Leftists and media try to avoid using "man" and "men."

I just can't understand these people. First they claim that the show isn't for us, and I'm thinking "okay, well this is something I can get behind, since I definitely don't want something like this," and things are feeling pretty good... but then they go and try to ban everything else, and I'm left wondering "okay so is it supposed to be for me or not, because don't get me excited with promises that it isn't for me when you clearly want me to watch it."

They just can't seem to make up their mind in this weird, unrequited crush they appear to have on straight white men, and it's starting to get uncomfortable as they miss every ordinary social cue to lower their flag and move on.
