Reddit is unbearable with this. Most subs will throw random leftwing propaganda into unrelated posts and ban anyone who has counterpoints.

That one makes my blood boil every time I see it. I know it's nonsense virtue signalling that's meant to flag "Same team!" But the fact that such a nonsense term holds such power because next to no one will think critically about it for five seconds.... It just sets me off.

The right to not pay a dime for anything ever and the right to have nobody disagree with their beliefs. Because those are rights somehow.
I see this on streams and even MMO's too. Absolutely nobody would say anything related to sex. And then someone mentions something about trans rights and ruins the stream for everyone. And if there's any pushback, even asking "what are you talking about?" that person risks getting the ban hammer.

I forgot what youtuber it was but someone I enjoyed to watch, made non political videos on a niche topic. Then Saint Floyd of fentanyl happened and what did he do? A BLM video, I mentioned my disdain for that and what happened? Comment deleted. Cannot state my own opinion cuz that's the "good" side. Mind you, at the time I wasn't sure about Saint Floyd of fentanyls death, I still did not want politics there.
I permanently left a lot of online spaces I had enjoyed up to that point for that exact reason.
For some reason the left needs to politicize everything. I used to frequent Board Game Geek. I think they generally had a left-leaning bent, but generally tolerant to nonconforming views with only flame war type posts getting deleted.
Right around 2020 this changed. They posted a manifesto on their front page proclaiming several "truths": blacks, trannies, women, etc. are oppressed. Their voices deserve to be featured and counter-posts that minimize "their truth" are invalid, etc. They started heavily censoring non-conforming posts and assumed a generally holier than thou attitude towards any dissent. The message became: "we know what is right and what is wrong; if you don't agree with us, you are immoral and either need to shut up so we don't have to listen to you or leave"
So now, if a "person of color" complains that a WWII game doesn't have a black character and you point out that it would be historically inaccurate, you're post will be deleted for being "dismissive" or "derailing".
And thus they dominate the board game space, gaining complete control. Just like they did with Tabletop RPGs, just like they did with publishing, and Reddit. Etc.
It isn't about being right, it is absolutely about power.
I used to watch most of ShoeOnHead's videos despite her being a dumb lefty.
She opened one with (well after details like the toxicology report had come out), "after the execution of George Floyd" and I stopped the video, hit unsubscribe, and haven't listened to her since.
Tbf she always was talking politics. This guy was actually about true crime and random creepy things, video about BLM and Floyd came out of nowhere and I probably saw all of his videos twice over before that.
It has been a good journey, to here. The number of time-sucks I have both jettisoned and wholly avoided, has become innumerable. All I had to do was tell them to suck off without me. Who knew?
