Don’t forget the gaslighting that everything was always woke or something about reflecting the world as it is today

Number of times I see this about the X-Men is unreal.

"Mutants were made to stand in for different minority groups!"

No, they were made because it was an easy origin story. That's it. The woke representation nonsense came later, and is quickly dropped as a talking point when mutants such as Orphan Maker get brought up who simply exist and cause extinction level events passively.

Try asking any of the idiots pushing "progressiveness" if they really think of the alphabeta soup as walking weapons of mass destruction who can will everyone around them simply by existing.

You’ve inadvertently given the most convincing case I’ve seen for mutants as allegory for minorities/LGBTQ.

Exactly. Plus Stan Lee said himself they didn’t intend it as a civil rights allegory. I can see how someone could interpret it that way but I’ve also met people who related to the x-men because they were outcasts for whatever reason. Similar to why I love Superman and Spider-Man since they are idealistic

Exactly ... I loved the Hulk because I identified with his "loner" archetype that was depicted in the 80s TV show (RIP Lou ... eventually ... I know you can't hear me, but whatever.) ... and even in the comics of the time ... Green Hulk and Banner were basically wanderers in The Incredible Hulk comics I had.

The 80s Saturday morning cartoon had him as a scientist, but always fighting a specific general ...

I always saw the two shows as separate volumes with different universes ... like The Amazing Spiderman versus Spiderman 2499 or something like that. Arguably it was because each run had different writers and artists, but ... regardless...

Ehhhh… mutants were most definitely an allegory for different minority groups. lol it’s why they sucked so much.

I'm holding out for Racism Megazord where all the turbo racists combine their powers and just start stomping around urban centers.

I just see racist as a contraction of "race" and "realist" now.

See, I wouldn't have minded mexican spiderman if they had given him slightly different superpowers and not just made him an exact clone. Like imagine if he was bitten by a different kind of spider and instead of gaining web-powers he instead became larger/way stronger, like a turantula/"hulk", or got bitten by one of those burrowing spiders and gained the ability to dissolve into the earth like ellen page's character from xmen 3. Much like all media now, they refuse to go outside the box and just stick to the same shit we saw 20 years ago.

That would take creativity and we all know these activists can't create, only subvert.

It wouldn't take much creativity though, that's the thing. I came up with all of that in 2-3minutes and have spent much of the past year working on car stuff. If I can do that, surely these "more dedicated" artists could do better, right?

It’s not about diversity. It’s about replacement.

Mexican Spiderman gets bit by a jumping spider, so he can leap the border more easily.

The other guy who mentioned it being about replacement is right. They have to erase White culture. It's called "replacement immigration" after all, so White people are getting replaced too. It's also about demoralization. You will have nothing, not even fiction.

The main problem is that the Mexican spiderman's uniqueness & personality is ... being Mexican.
Identity first, personality non existent is the problem of all woke characters.

The whole "passing the torch" trend in recent years is beyond fucking obnoxious.

Just shows the current crop of artists/writers have zero creativity of their own. It's all self-insert derivative fanfiction. The kind I used to write for fun when I was twelve years old.

Miles is Bad but I hate more what they did to Gwen, they made her an e-girl.

I wouldn't be surprised to learn Marvel created Miles to take off heat from the new female spider-sonas like Silk, Peni, Sun-spider, Anya. They don't get enough hate

I just don't get why you like asian cartoons so much. Peni is more harmful than Miles when you think about it. Guess you would like Riri more if she were younger and had even more ludicrus technology

I haven't watched the Spider-Man movie, but people like Gurren Lagann because it's cathartic fun. It's a "Humanity, Fuck Yeah!" series whose core conceit is that men perform miracles out of sheer willpower.

And people would like Riri if the character and the creator weren't both motivated by Marxist envy.

I read Miles Morales comics up until about 2018 I had Spider-Gwen’s first few issues but sold any marvel and dc I had that was after 2015 or so. Was she good at first? I always thought that Miles should’ve had a different name and be someone inspired by what Spider-Man did similar to Steel with Superman. For me Gwen Stacy will always be the girl Spidey couldn’t save on that bridge

Any attempt to “pass the mantle” always ends up being an allegory for blank slatism. Anyone can be anything, all of your white male characters can be swapped out for whatever identities we choose.

You could have a sidekick that takes over after the main hero dies like Wally West but that takes time and effort. I don’t like passing the torch anymore in modern day due to the predictability on who is getting the torch

It has the same problems every new big two comic has. They set up a shit ton of crap just to underdeliver

She works better as an elseworlds character because that's just what she is, Peter but female

Except “the new classics” won’t be remembered as fondly. If Spiderman Miles Morales sales are an indicator, the next one won’t be sold at all if it’s completely based on Miles.

Spider man 2 was a horrid game. Garbage boss fights beyond the first one with Sandman which gave you hope that others would be that way.

Damn trash emboldened by stupid "Minders" that made sure the writing met "Sensitivity Standards"

Alan Wake had to sacrifice part of their game to that demonic ideal to save the Alan Wake character. Spider man sacrifice everything and nobody gave a shit.
