Exactly. Plus Stan Lee said himself they didn’t intend it as a civil rights allegory. I can see how someone could interpret it that way but I’ve also met people who related to the x-men because they were outcasts for whatever reason. Similar to why I love Superman and Spider-Man since they are idealistic
Exactly ... I loved the Hulk because I identified with his "loner" archetype that was depicted in the 80s TV show (RIP Lou ... eventually ... I know you can't hear me, but whatever.) ... and even in the comics of the time ... Green Hulk and Banner were basically wanderers in The Incredible Hulk comics I had.
The 80s Saturday morning cartoon had him as a scientist, but always fighting a specific general ...
I always saw the two shows as separate volumes with different universes ... like The Amazing Spiderman versus Spiderman 2499 or something like that. Arguably it was because each run had different writers and artists, but ... regardless...
