Number of times I see this about the X-Men is unreal.

"Mutants were made to stand in for different minority groups!"

No, they were made because it was an easy origin story. That's it. The woke representation nonsense came later, and is quickly dropped as a talking point when mutants such as Orphan Maker get brought up who simply exist and cause extinction level events passively.

Try asking any of the idiots pushing "progressiveness" if they really think of the alphabeta soup as walking weapons of mass destruction who can will everyone around them simply by existing.

You’ve inadvertently given the most convincing case I’ve seen for mutants as allegory for minorities/LGBTQ.

Exactly. Plus Stan Lee said himself they didn’t intend it as a civil rights allegory. I can see how someone could interpret it that way but I’ve also met people who related to the x-men because they were outcasts for whatever reason. Similar to why I love Superman and Spider-Man since they are idealistic

Exactly ... I loved the Hulk because I identified with his "loner" archetype that was depicted in the 80s TV show (RIP Lou ... eventually ... I know you can't hear me, but whatever.) ... and even in the comics of the time ... Green Hulk and Banner were basically wanderers in The Incredible Hulk comics I had.

The 80s Saturday morning cartoon had him as a scientist, but always fighting a specific general ...

I always saw the two shows as separate volumes with different universes ... like The Amazing Spiderman versus Spiderman 2499 or something like that. Arguably it was because each run had different writers and artists, but ... regardless...

Ehhhh… mutants were most definitely an allegory for different minority groups. lol it’s why they sucked so much.
