These people will gleefully shut it off if you like the wrong tweet. They can go fuck themselves with their moral indignation

And pay it themselves if they feel so strongly about it. No one's stopping them

My schools never had paid cafeterias, let alone free lunches. Just bring your own lunch ot go home for lunch.

I made the mistake of trawling this schizo's twitter feed to find you guys the source. Here you go.

It has less than 1000 views and no replies, and was posted by someone who sits on twitter reposting memes all day while calling themselves a progressive/liberal news organization owned by women. There is absolutely no context for the tweet - nothing before or after about school lunches or religion. Wouldn't be surprised we're dealing with bots here.

What confuses me is why on earth would someone censor the source. Or even more confusing why the handle under the blur is different than @PoliTribune. Is it even the same account? The one I linked to has a bunch of random hashtags on all their tweets.

So I dug from where you left off. There's a website linked in the twitter account. If you follow it and look at the copyright info, it says that it's owned by addicting info LLC. Then I googled this and found the owner to be Mathew Kerry. Now, I couldn't find much info on this guy other than apparently his whole thing is stealing/reposting "content" from other lefties and trying to make ad money out of it. That's according to a post of a guy that's mad about it anyways. In any case, that kind of explains the no context post. The woman claim is either false or "modern day woman" (aka also false).

But these are the same people who thinks the government should pay for everything. So they want the church to fund school lunches?

But I know churches who do give out free meals. My church works with the local school to help the low income kids in different ways.

In their mind they think the govt should pay for everything and they are economically illiterate to think anything is free. I’d rather work with my church to provide this food than to depend on a govt program. Also the fact that a child needs a free lunch can be a symptom of a bigger parenting issue.

Im happy to work with my church or an agency that helps achieve this goal but thinking the govt is going to solve your problems is pointless and I guess I’m annoyed at people who think the govt exists to give free stuff

I’ve never advocated for putting the 10 commandments in public schools just like lgbt crap shouldn’t be in public schools. That’s a Just shows how things have turned out I this country. My dad told me when he was a kid they were sent home for lunch because it wasn’t the school’s responsibility to feed the students which I believe and I believe it shouldn’t be the school’s responsibility to feed the kids breakfast either but here we are. Like I said I’m fine working with agencies I trust to ensure free lunches for kids in my area but Christ commanded the individual to act. Me saying the government should provide something isn’t really being generous.

But part of the free lunches should also address the root problem.

We should have kept the 10 Commandments in public schools and court houses.

I do think if they are forcing the students to be there then they should be required to feed them, but I also don't believe public school should exist, so...

As a Christian I’d love to have them learn biblical principles but that’s a violation. I agree that public schooling shouldn’t be a thing especially since it’s one of the pillars of communism but we can’t change that now. Like I said, I have zero issues helping those in need get food since it is what Christ commands but also if you want to help you got to address root issues.

utterly impotent putting the 10 Commandments up and violating the 1st Amendment is.

It's not enough to put them up. You have to actually teach them.

But disagreements on the role of religion in public schools aside, I'm confused why you're echoing talking points from a leftist frame that the OP presented out of context? Who is putting 10 commandments up in schools and not providing free lunches?

They aren't saying a church should do it. They're saying Christians should be advocating for free school lunches...

How did you get all that from a single line screenshot of text most likely written by a lunatic?

The less the feds are involved in school lunches (or school anything for that matter) the better. Last time they got involved Big Mike just used it as a grifting opportunity and left it in a worse state than he found it.

A nearby district does free lunches, and spams everyone about them more than any other program in the district, but the food is all processed slop that the parents I actually know won’t even willingly feed their kids. As it is, the poors who need it are being given frozen cheeseburgers and processed “fruit”-flavored sweets to take home for the weekend. I’m not against the program in and of itself, but it’s clearly a boondoggle meant to enrich corporate food sources with our tax dollars

My lunch in high school consisted of a Butterfinger bar, a Powerade, and some chips or fruit snacks if I was really hungry. I did that for 4 years because the shit they were cooking was awful.

I don't know what this tweet is talking about.

However, LGBT is a form of religion now in all ways but flat out declaration. And, the federal Department of Education with the Department of Agriculture, under the Biden administration, will withdraw all school lunch funds from any school district which fails to participate in the religion of LGBT by requiring the use of preferred pronouns by all people, students and staff, within a district.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) this year dispatched new guidelines and policies linking its Food and Nutrition Service funding to compliance with a new interpretation of civil rights laws, listing transgender and gay individuals as federally protected groups.

Before 2020 case Bostock vs Clayton County, most agencies interpreting the Title VII civil rights law could treat “sex” as a biological situation, but the Bostock court ruled that sexual orientation and gender identity are also bound up in the definition of “sex.”

The USDA took that ruling and applied it to a different portion of federal law: the Title IX civil rights statutes pertaining to schools.

Those suing the USDA argued that using a court’s Title VII interpretation to impose Title IX was inappropriate. The USDA countered in its recent filing, saying the wording in the two civil rights clauses is similar enough to apply the Bostock ruling to schools’ nondiscrimination policies under Title IX.

No one designs schools to be schools. You have 600 bored students running around and the building is designed for 200 if they do nothing. The school district scrimps at every turn for those buildings so they pass inspection, but fall apart in a few years.

Places like Universal and Disney are designed to withstand crazy guests and have maintenance crews every night. It's a lot of work to keep things within the regulations the larger parks set for themselves. When people shift over to regular buildings they are always shocked at how low the standards are for buildings.

I bring this up because schools are designed to be replaced every 20 years. It falls apart on purpose and looks terrible within a year of being built. The designers themselves are special government approved agencies that have to go through a lot of extra work to get approval. That sounds great, but the reality is they design on a standardization system, not an actual design principal. This is why one of my highschools looked haunted, and another one was designed as a prison.

School lunches are the same. It's a lot of extra money for special regulations and mass use. There was a show where Jamie Oliver tried to build up an American school cafeteria and ended up making slop because of the regulations required.

Everything about school is the same way, standards, demands, high pay, slop. The teachers have benefits like insurance, but must teach that the wizard of Oz was a political metaphor. The better paying jobs require a master's or a PhD, and an ego the size of the building they work in. The money goes towards pet projects that make them look good, but deprive the students of any needed help.

I miss the glorious days of Winter in highschool. In one class, you could use your pencil to dig the snow entering from a huge vertical crack in the concrete wall. And throw a snowball at your friend.
