I mean when I was in the military there were warning signs before going on bases that lethal force was authorized. I guess you could put up such signs although I doubt the EU/UN would go for that and the media would go crazy. places like Area 51 can gun you down after a warning no questions asked

I yearn for the days when we didn't care what eurotrash thought and the UN is dissolved.

One bright side of the being the hegemon of the "Free World" is you can do whatever you want and the others just have to suck it up and deal.

The downside is the people in charge of the hegemon do not have their citizens interests in mind.

Huh, can we re locate Area 51 to be the entire US border?

Not a bad idea. Relocate every top secret facility along the border.

That didn't work in Ukraine, we just gave the Russians easy access to bio-labs.

Trick migrants into storming Area 51! You're a genius! What are they gonna do, stop em?

Reminds me of that sniper meme post from some years ago:

"What do you feel when you shoot a terrorist from hundreds of yards away?"

/shrugs "Recoil."

I do think that lethal force should be used to defend a border, but not as a first resort. Firstly, there should be warning signs in multiple languages indicating lethal forces authorized. Secondly, there should be patrols that tell people to go back when found, and lethal force would only be used on people who try to make a run for the border.

And thirdly, because we've had such an open border, there would need to be several years of intense guarding and non-lethal rejection so that the word gets out that the border is closed to undocumented and otherwise illegal immigrants. That way there are no mistakes.

Developed Nations across the world such as Israel use lethal Force to defend their borders from drug cartels, human traffickers, and otherwise ill intentioned people who can't get in legally. There's no reason we can't.

It's a little tougher because the illegal migrant groups crossing the US borders are "families" of 24 men and 3 children, and our government is full of traitors. Even moving the children to their own cells until you can identify who they belong to gets AOC crying at the gates.

their own cells

Cells built by Obama and still open under Biden, but remember kids, "Orange man bad!".

I'm willing to have mistakes and enforce the border with lethal force immediately to show people you're not fucking around.

The best way to get the word out is to record a horrific massacre and play it on ads everywhere south of the border. It doesn't even have to be real, they just have to think it was real.

You don't actually have to be evil. The just need to think you are evil, and then they won't try to cross.

that's definitely some gangster politics right there. the problem with gangster politics is you have to follow through, if you don't and try to fake it, you will be perceived as weak and no one will follow your rules.

getting the message out shouldn't be hard, it just takes some dystopian signs and PSAs in key areas. in one or two years, you can get the word out without actually having to shed any blood or pretend to shed any blood. there might be one or two who tried to call you out on a bluff in which case you absolutely do need to follow through. but so long as the migrant groups get the message with signs, patrols, and aggressive enforcement of the border, the bloodshed could be non-existent.

See, I keep telling you, border security needs to be handled by national defence military units.

You could solve the US border issue with a few A10 warthogs, and solve overpopulation issues, trafficking issues and make the land there very nitrogen rich in seconds...

Preferably there's a middle ground and this sort of thing isn't necessary...but it's also not something that should be dismissed out of hand, either. To their credits, the Democrats have proved time and again that 'soft on crime' doesn't work. Fire on invaders a few times, and they probably stop coming, so you don't have to fire on them anymore. Harsh, but an actual solution. So immediately better than what either party in the US has done, perhaps.

I think with the one-step removed from an invasion we are seeing over the past year, that just firing on them a few times wouldn't work. There have been movies and stories for years about people firing on illegal immigrants in the southern borders of Texas and that hasn't stopped them at all.

I'd personally just like to close up the borders though so I'm kind of done with the middle ground approach I suppose.

I mean, if it's on a larger scale and with government support the message is a bit stronger. Random people taking shots and then facing legal action isn't the same as the country saying "we'll shoot you if you come here illegally."

Also, if you cut out benefits, in combination with higher threat to life, the invasion drastically slows, and becomes much more manageable.

That is fair enough, it isn't really a fair comparison at all, I'm pretty down with the government saying that though, at this point. Not that I have any faith in them or that we ever would in the US, but it sure seems appealing.

Any advocacy for a middle ground just means that the borders will remain open.

Fire on invaders a few times, and they probably stop coming, so you don't have to fire on them anymore.

Even if that somehow stopped any more from coming (which, no offence, I sincerely doubt due to the sheer numbers involved), where does that leave the rest of the tens of millions already residing here? There would need to be a coinciding deportation campaign on a scale not seen since Eisenhower, and God only knows what else to even begin tackling the problem.

Declare all illegal aliens are outlaws in the original, legal meaning in that they are no longer protected by the laws of the nation they have invaded. Once there is nothing stopping people from cheating, robbing, beating, or even killing them, they will leave on their own.

I never said it was a comprehensive immigration solution, and that was never even the topic. The title is about the border crisis.

You misunderstand the nature of the problem as understood by Our Betters. You think the people illegally crossing the border are the problem.

To Our Betters, you are the problem, and the people illegally crossing the border are the solution.

People keep giving me funny looks when I tell them we need to just station the military at the border with orders to shoot to kill and then build a wall out of the skulls of the invaders.

I don't think actual Saudi's do military. They woulda had contractors do this. The U.S. is often their hired goons, esp in the Yemen occupation. So.. I wonder how dirty this actually gets. How many of our guys, moonlighting as contractors mowing down illegals. That's prob some future kompromat on a lot of D.C. folks.
