I get the whole joke thing, but at what point does it stop being a joke, especially with these people? Where everything is a fetish.
You know what's absolutely tiring? There has been nothing viral about Baldur's Gate 3 related to any advancements in actual gameplay.
If those clips exist, they certainly haven't circulated around video-oriented sharing sites. While I don't frequent/use Facebook/Twitter, the posts that are shared from there or discussed in videos related to the game, have nothing to do with the gameplay.
It's the complete opposite of content that goes viral for games like Wukong: Black Myth, or SiFu, or BeamNG Drive. There are no viral discussions/clips of cool combat sequences; no awesome magic attacks; no unique combat tactics; nor any evolved strategies, effects, or casting mechanics that evolve the genre or the franchise.
Every single clip, all of the discussions, and all of the viral content centers around Left-wing fetishes.
It's really quite telling.
It's a d&d game. You get interesting things, but AFAIK it's nothing new. Like you can put grease down and set it on fire. Or water and shock people. Etc.
I'm pretty sure that's been done before in other games, and I'd bet in the divinity games it was.
I mean there was nothing viral about pillars of eternity 1 or 2, yet those were incredible games.
That said, the fact that stuff does go viral in BG3, and its only sexual stuff makes it a little weird, though the lack of other 'viral' things is not unexpected for the genre.
I don't think rolling a 20 when the selected option was "kick the squirrel" and it exploding into a shower of gore against a tree was necessarily sexual, but it was certainly jejune.
Looks like a fucking joke to me. I love larian studios but I want wizards of the coast to die. I can't wait for the next divinity so we can have this kind of humor without the cancer that is D&D.
Is clearly just a joke, in any other contest it would be funny. The problem is everything we hear about the game is related to sex to the point I wonder if the game offers anything else but disgusting sex fetishes.
As I mentioned in another comment, I think this was done on purpose by journalists, once the game turns out to be a success they will just claim that gay sex sells
I mean in this case, that ogress is a hambeast not a manbeast.
But yeah, the volume of gross out sex jokes is getting pretty far past the "silly goofy fun" zone into the "weird guy keeps half-joking about his sexual fantasies with his uncomfortable friends" zone
Reminds me of a D&D campaign that got the DM banned from the group, where every session inevitably devolved into "avoid tentacle rape".
I just got up to this part and yeah it was like a "wtf" moment but then quickly turned into a "Lol".
It does seems the journalists really did hype all the sex stuff. I'm only five hours in but so far this was the only explicitly sexual thing. The rest has really only been innuendo and that has pretty much only been confined to the flamboyant vampire.
Obviously this might all change as I get further in but so far it hasn't hurt the story.
That's exactly what I guessed. I played the beta and outside of something like a dream sequence at the start it had nothing sexual about it.
That ogre is wearing a bra.
I know, my comment was more about the journalists hyping sex stuff for the game instead of story, choices or DnD rules implementation rather then this specific scene.
It's decent for the 3rd in the series but still a downgrade from Divinity Original Sin 2.
It's dos 3 wearing a skinsuit of baldur's gate
Is the story in anyway connected to BG1,2? That saga ended with Throne of Bhaal and it was a good conclusion to the saga.
So far not yet. But I'm still only 5 hours in. Haven't even made it to Baldurs Gate yet.
Only the first game took place in Baldur's Gate, the second was set in and around Athkatla, so if you never actually end up there it won't be anything new.
There is little chance this is related to the Bhaal Spawn, so the only thing they can do to connect it to Baldur's Gate is to make the city part of the game.
I thought it would be related to Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus module that WOTC released. It involves Baldur's Gate the city but no Bhaal Spawn.
That's been there since the first beta patch, and at the time was decried by leftists as a dog whistle for murdering interracial couples. There was even a petition circulated to ask WoTC to intervene and get it removed from the game.
As far as I'm concerned it absolutely is said dog whistle too, a rare example of leftoid making a correct accusation. The smaller race involved in that monstrous gangbang is literally called "bugbears."
Couldn't be more on the nose.
Every single fucking clip I randomly see of this game is related to sex. I know nothing else about the game and at this point I'm afraid to look more into it.
Same. I'm just going to continue playing Wrath of the Righteous
''Eh, I've interrupted worse.''
Can confirm.
A prime example of why I consider the continuation of the franchise in any capacity to be a desecration of masterpiece.
I don't have the game for reasons but is there any depiction of sexy sex in the game or is it mostly leftist fantasies like this?
Having played the beta you had this strange character creation where you also create like the one you dream about and you can make that the opposite sex. So I assume that the option is there. For companions however, not sure what they changed from beta but you had an ugly gith and a priestess of selune that I'm 90% sure it is trans - she has no breasts and she is "mysterious". So not much choice there. I think there is also a drow chick that can join, I killed her so not sure how that goes. If you assume you play as a girl, you also had a black dude that I assume is straight, a gay vampire that is kind of flamboyant, a wizard guy that seems cool but I can swear they changed something about him between beta and now, from the little I've seen he looks gayer.
I saw someone play and stopped after the character creation when I saw the cringeworthy presets.
I'll buy it one day when it meets the two criteria: 75% off sale or in a bundle (I'll wait), custom campaigns, not DM mode, but custom single player campaigns.
You're kind of intended to; the second character was a metaphysical representation of the temptation to join the cult of slug, near as I could tell.
Tumblr finally getting the #Representation it wants.
fucking hysterical
I mean I don't really care about sex scenes, but all I read about BG3 is sex stuff.
It feels more like the DM (Larian) is a horny teenager that has to push sex everywhere into the game. And that is the image which is attributed to DnD & PnP RPGs in general. I don't care for WotC, but I do care for the Forgotten Realms.
Is the only "adult" thing of this game it's "gore" and "sex funny!" and "sex good!"? Cause I honestly look into other mature themes in a work of fiction. What's the morality of choices like?
