Why would anyone celebrate a military that doesn't defend our freedoms or protect our borders.

The fact that we aren't using our military to defend our borders is evidence enough for me that are politicians and much of the military chain of command are traitors to the nation and need to hang for treason.

Difference between celebrating the military and celebrating veterans:
The military can be run by genocidal shitheads that care more about oil and weapons contracts than ensuring a continuation of national culture.
Veterans have already been through the grinder, either in a justifiable cause or a conflict these shitheads set up and so deserve recognition to be reminded they aren't forgotten or thrown away after their duty.
Honestly, who knew May celebrated the military beyond Memorial Day? We're on day three, and I have already seen pride shit it almost every store I visited this month, and a bunch of commercials on TV.
And don't get me started on Memorial Day. It's supposed to be a time to remember people killed in action, and it's just an excuse to barbecue and have sales at all the fucking department stores.
Anyone who tries to imply that May honors the military even a hundredth of how June honors fags is a fucking liar.

To be fair, every vet I know is waiting for any excuse to barbecue and is fucking happy as shit on Memorial Day for it, especially if its being done while shooting. I'd wager most of those slain would feel the same.

What a stupid argument from that guy. It's barely celebrated, of course many don't know about it. It's like saying "Oh, you don't know there's an International Men's Day? You must not care about men."
No, they're not celebrated, which is sort of the point. Neither of those has any sort of mainstream appeal, it's easy to miss, even if you care about the issues. No one's wishing anyone 'happy X.' Hell, whenever Men's Day rolls around, the main group I see celebrating it is retarded feminists trying to coopt it, or some woke corporation wishing women or trannies happy Men's Day.

I actually think we need to start making culture instead of being reactionaries. I want us to have actual holidays that we can build traditions off of.

We could try and set-up some sort of community celebration for that next year, maybe with daily or weekly posts regarding the specific efforts of sacrificial effort. Doesn't even have to be for the military, but maybe for anyone who distinguished some kind of exceptional heroism or sacrifice to save the lives of their community, or as a result of official duty of care.
Child Sexual Assault Survivors month is a good idea. The Pride month in the UK is different from the one in the US, so we could use the UK's pride month for that (or vice versa). Perhaps each week we could post stories from de-transitioners, victims of John Money's experiments, or any sort of survivors of institutionally supported sex crimes (like testimony from the Epstein trial).
While that's not a bad idea, I find it somewhat in bad taste (and always have) to celebrate a holiday for victims. Simply because the vast majority of actual victims, instead of just exaggerators and outright liars, often want to avoid spotlighting it and forcing them to be named and held up might only make it worse for them.
That's just my personal opinion though, so I'm not against being convinced out of it.

It was the episode where Butters was getting bullied by his own grandmother, and Stan or Kyle wanted to make a whole big deal of it to "support" Butters, but it only made things worse for him.
One of the show's genuine best episodes, that will still hit hard long after current day politics are forgotten.
Alfred had an interesting idea. What about a dedicated Geek or Gaming Month for celebrating our favorite lore, history, or geek/gamer cultural artifacts?

For some reason, that attracted the attention of this FishyMan420 individual who then wanted me to unban him. I would not, and I will continue not to do that. No one has to be a member of this forum, and it's actually, not that big of a deal not to hang out here.
He then called me a pedophile and made a post about me on a private forum that he is the only moderator of, and one of 2 members.

Perhaps a month of geek. Every day celebrates a different geeky hobby. I'm really shocked at the fan made movies made by WH40K fans. How did a geek rise up and change the world? The MIT hackers, the Atari craziness, engineers who designed arcade games before videogames, and many more. If others want to make a big day or hoopla, then so can we. If they complain we already have holidays like Pi Day, point out we need more representation.
