And then academic researchers alerted corporate overlords and politicians of the potential of using sports as an influence vector for effectuating ideological value shifts and changing cultural norms in prime demographics. And this became very convenient for the NFL because of their insistence on relying more and more on black athletes, while the viewing base was overwhelmingly white.
And now you have prancing male cheerleaders, an overwhelmingly black athlete corps (60%), kneeling athletes and race hustling interest groups seizing the opportunity to line their pockets with tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars annually.

"End racism" is one of the stupidest mission statements anyway. You're just never going to end it. Fighting against some of the outcomes of racism is fine, "ending racism" is completely stupid utopianism.
'racism' wouldn't be a problem if people weren't forced to live with with bunch of different races and cultures that all want more benefits for their own groups

Even worse than that: They only want meritocracy when it comes to running around on the field. Everywhere else? They promote women refs (And had a big "ALL WOMEN FLYOVER" for the game). They force teams to interview black coaches. They give teams free draft picks if they have black coaches that get poached. All the talk about owners revolves around demanding more "Minority owners" (In this case, the vastly over-represented jewish owners count as White). Meritocracy when it helps blacks, socialism when it doesn't help.
Bingo. And if you think about it the rule about black coaches does them no favor and they would be better off to be judged on merit because owners will never say this but if you hire a black coach and they suck you are stuck with them for at least a few years

That is my assessment, although I know a lot of people that watch that are fine people. I used to tolerate some live sports in my drinking days, however without that I get kinda bored.
