These aren't Game Journalists. These are Social Agitation Goons. They don't like video games nor do they ever play them.

I always regarded them with the mindset of "imagine someone whose dream was to get paid to play video games and act as if their opinion about them is special" and then it lowered to "now imagine someone who got that job but is too pretentious to actually play any games."
XIV has apparently been so goddamn good, its Shadowbringers villain ranks 6th on ALL FINAL FANTASY CHARACTERS OF ALL TIME. That's above even Sephiroth from the VII fanatics!
If I had the time to spare, I'd still be playing it, only got to the end of Stormblood.

...I've had a copy of ffiv complete edition, or whatever it was called, on psp for a couple years... I beat the snes certain years and years ago, but I've never gotten around to playing after years, etc.

Golbez. Doesn't surprise me at all, when Endbringer pretty much had "Paladin on the Moon" in your face in its trailer.
Oh, I figured as much. Those sorts of cameos have always been side stuff like the Savage Quests and the Raids. But again, Paladin on the Moon was an instant FFIV vibe, so I figured Golbez or Zeromus Savage/Raid post-expansion launch was bound to happen. And no way was it a coincidence if not only they went to the moon, but did a IV-themed Savage/Raid after. Besides, back in the day, Poster Boy was a Gladiator, not a Marauder/Warrior. Full fucking circle!
Thats assuming the gamers are not ignorant and know what or who he is. Only the most nerdy knows and the most nerdy are usually based anyways.
That event has roused emotions in me each time I've done it. There's something, peculiar, about seeing the game director smiling at you and directly thanking you for enjoying what he made.
As a former WoW player, it must be nice to have not just one of these but one who isn't a raging asshole who actively makes the game worse to spite the guys he gets in spit fights with on forums.

You can play a dark colored cat or bunny person. Pretty sure you can do the same with the other race types. Haven't played FFXIV in years, though.
In FF11, 12, 14 and Tactics, yeah. I haven't looked into 16 yet, so I can't say if this game includes them as well.
Nope. 16 doesn't appear to have any fantasy-demihuman races. At least not among the multiple kingdoms this story is centered around.

I know Kingdom Come wasn't a AAA game, but their response of explaining why the game wasn't "diverse" then refusing to elaborate further was perfect. SiSi Jiang and her ilk have the attention spans of goldfish and will find something new to bitch about by the weekend. Meanwhile: people who want to buy your game don't care about how white it is.
They can't, really. The game is pretty much done, and coming out spring (or is it summer?) of next year. If they delay because "diversity," just how many purchases will they lose because of lack of integrity?
Changing skin color is very easy. I've noticed some games used randomization for npc's - I think at least.
Why limit your hate to just Games journalist? All journalist need helicopter rides.

huh. havent really liked an FF game since the sixteen bit era(someof them were okay, just...meh...), but I might take another look now...
This shit has been revealed since GamerGate, they're all colluding with one another, and they're all colluding with the game companies to make ridiculous reviews.
It's why CoD gets world-class reviews every single game despite every single one being a dumpsterfire.
