Well yeah, that's why the United States sabotaged it. That and to try and force Germany to not surrender due to winter.

The proverbial they would rather a million Germans freeze to death than admit defeat.

It's cute that you think the German government would have to be forced to screw over its own people.

Screw over, sure. But this is a whole other degree. Even a rump state like Germany gets nervous at thousand percent price hikes, because the one thing they can't allow is for people to wake up and smell the coffee. The people of Germany are a hollow, pale imitation of themselves, but even they aren't likely to tolerate the upcoming winter of shortages and shutoffs and death.

After all, the Germans made such a mess the last time they realized they were a satrapy to an international cartel of jews, that they're still villainized nearly a century afterwards.

I mean he did promise to do it back in Feb.

No way he did it without the approval of the crooks who rule here. They don't need to be "forced", they just need an excuse for when their own people starve and freeze.

The americans might do it without euro approval but our politicians would say yes if asked.

They will definitely say yes if asked, but they will be mad if they weren't asked (and thus had their slave status rubbed in their face).

They didn't make a single peep when Snowden leaks revealed that Obama had their phones tapped, and I'd expect that to be more offensive to them personally than the US further enabling what they wanted to do themselves.

I’m old enough to remember when they castigated Tony Blair for being W Bush’ lapdog and demanded the UK get out of the war and support Iraq.

But then this is a “good war” because the leftists started it.

This is bullshit. Why isn't it either both "South Stream" and "North Stream" or "Süd Stream" and "Nord Stream"?

You couldn't trademark North Stream.

The pipelines going through Ukraine were closed at the beginning of the war.

Well, I guess the only solution now is for Ukraine to surrender so Europe won't freeze to death this winter. It a fine old solution.

Gazprom cut off all deliveries through Ukraine though, claiming that the Ukrainian company was screwing them over.

Historically, the Ukrainian company has been caught stealing billions of dollars worth of gas. This is historical record.

I mean, perhaps they are honest now? But probably not?

In 2001, Deputy Prime Minister Oleh Dubyna acknowledged that in 2000 alone 8–7 billion cubic metres (280–250 billion cubic feet) of Russian natural gas had been diverted from export pipelines.

I'm sure those pipelines are completely safe now that the new rule is "blow up the pipelines of your enemies".
