It literally doesn’t matter what the police do.

"Due to budget cuts, we will no longer be arresting people accused of shooting shoplifters."

Problem solved.

Honestly, it would be hilarious if people walking down the street just started grabbing some of those items and walking off. Of course, the problem is that would probably provoke a much more violent response than the store employees are allowed to do or the cops are willing to do.

That would be a nice change. I fear it'll be

though. Because that'll lessen the workload way more.

I think this is worth investigating the idea of internal migration from California and who is going where.

It seems pretty clear to me that there's a swath of California that loves the anti-moral savageries of their dystopian hellscape, and aren't leaving.

We know that Conservatives are certainly leaving California because it's no longer tennable to survive there under political repression.

However, we also know that California effectively engages in colonization efforts of other states. These people seem to be intentional transplants, done to effect political control in the places where corporate colonization is occurring. Frankly, it's very similar to mass migration efforts that already happen in the US in regards to Latin America. Basically, when the welfare state of a Latin American country is threatened, the only way to support that welfare state without new income is to remove the people from the cost of the welfare. Historically, Communists would just jail or kill dissenters, and that would be enough to keep the dwindling economy afloat for a while longer. Now, they arrange agreements with international corporations, which set up corporate structures in the US, and then basically recruit and import workers into the US using that new facility as a mechanism to import people. They can build a large factory in a small town, use their wealth and influence to dominate the government and police force, then import voters into the area, and stabilize the welfare state of the exporting country. This displaces the local population, but they are not part of this equation and are too small to object.

It is colonization, make no mistake, and the Left (frankly), knows this. It's one of the reasons that the Communists in Portland and Seattle have engaged in attacks and harassment of Californians. The Calis might be left-wing, but they are effectively middle-class transplants to Oregon from California, which secures power and influence for California sponsored governments and corporations. So the Leftists attacks on Californians are designed to basically drive foreigners out of Communist territory (just as they used to do back in the days of the Old Left). They don't want Califonrian Neo-Liberals threatening their Communist territory.

After reading "Immigration And Cultures" by Thomas Sowell, it's definitely true that people who leave to new lands will manufacture a culture in the new lands that is identical to the old culture of that exact moment of which they left. So much so that that culture will not change the way that the culture in the old lands will, so the people will become much more distinct. However, I think that that pre-supposes what is effectively conservative voluntary migration. People who left their home countries because they felt that the world was shit, and went elsewhere to preserve what they had. It makes sense that Germans in South America were displaced pre-industrial, pre-unity, Germans, were extremely religious and despised National Socialism. Japanese Americans had a similar experience of them leaving the Ming Dynasty and opposing Fascist japan; while Japanese living in Brazil had migrated from post-industrial Japan and were staunchly pro-Fascist. Similarly, the displaced English settlers into New England were rabidly more religious than the England they came from because they felt like their governments were restricting their religious liberties.

I would estimate that as California depopulates we're actually not going to be at too much risk of Californication / Californian Colonization, but instead are going to predominantly get refugees (like anti-Communist East Germans) that are voluntarily removing themselves. I think that the risk of colonization comes in the form of Californian corporations moving themselves into other territory, and taking their horde of villaiens, vassals, and human pets with them to colonize blue cities in red states like Austin.

I can't for the life of me remember where I saw the data now, but there was a study I saw that back up your general points the recent wave of Californians being refugee types, same with New Yorkers. The study found that while both Leftist and Rightist are leaving those two states, their destinations are not the same. Essentially, the breakdown was that Left Wingers leaving Cali and NY were going to places like Oregon, Washington State, and Colorado, while Right Wingers leaving were going to Texas and Florida (with a smattering among smaller states).

I think that the risk of colonization comes in the form of Californian corporations moving themselves into other territory, and taking their horde of villaiens, vassals, and human pets with them to colonize blue cities in red states like Austin.

As it turns out, they are discovering a new problem on that particular front. Namely, their potential colonist dont want to go. For a prominent example, Disney has been moving a lot of its corporate infrastructure from Cali to Florida. Officially, its because of "better business policy", but considering the types currently running the company you know they wouldnt complain if it altered the political landscape. As proof of that, they wanted to move a lot of their people from Cali to follow these jobs. They even built housing and amenities that were tailor made for what your average bougie Californian would demand.

But they found out after they had already moved the jobs that these people were pissed. They utterly refused to move to that "fascist state" run by "the blood-soaked Death Sentence" (making DeSantis sound far too badass there), and demanded the jobs come back to Cali. In fact, they even turned the tables and started demanding Disney just shut down their stuff in Florida and move it to Cali, Oregon, Colorado, anywhere but Florida.

And at least from what it sounds like from people in the know, Disney is kind of stuck. Because they dont want to hire the likely more conservative local talent, but their vassals are starting a riot over the idea of having to move.

And it couldnt have happened to a better group of people.

The unfortunate part there is Colorado, which used to be a blood red state, but due to colonization efforts, has turned purple, and almost entirely blue. It shows that colonies are dangerous if they are allowed to take root.

If there's a silver lining: the ingress of blue voters who turned Denver (and thus Colorado) purple are disjointed weirdos whose political interest goes about as far as the ballot box. These people just want to smoke weed, do weird outdoorsy shit, and plan their next horrible tattoo.

The conservatives in CO are much more organized, and were able to push back against a lot of the mask and vaccine bullshit. I was in and out of the state kind of frequently over the past couple years and it was always a mix of liberal stupidity and red state common sense.

the ingress of blue voters who turned Denver

Don't sell them short. The Blue Voters are also infesting Apsen and Vail (and the general surrounding areas like Snowmass and Edwards). And those aren't just the dumb 20 something libshits. Those are the out of touch mega rich ones.

The fortunate part about that however is those people need even more working class to keep those cities running, and those people can't even hope to afford living anywhere close. So every nearby city/county grows even more red entrenched and populace to compensate.

Until the richies start driving them out of the minimal available real estate in the mountains too.

Right - I was very careful not to mention the big money in Aspen and Vail. That's where the CO DNC has power -- not in Denver where their voters nominally are.

I love Denver, too, so don't get me wrong. But the people there aren't that politically engaged.

California "right wing" is a different kind of thing than Texas right wing. A California republican would feel right at home with many Texas Democrats.

It is, however, a myth that Californians are turning the state purple. That's immigration from other countries.

Even that is not necessarily true. Texas became slightly more blue in a few elections, but has been rapidly shifting back toward the red direction as of late. On top of vast swaths of the state that have never voted Republican for hundreds of years suddenly doing so.

The idiots in California deserve everything they get.

You just know they'll whine about evil corporations when they raise prices or close down stores. Then they'll turn around and vote for the same politicians who are responsible for this all over again.

target and walgreens already closed multiple stores and slashed hours of the remaining ones, all in the bay area. a business has to remain reasonably safe for its employees, and more profitable than just the market as a whole. if either of those requirements are not met, the business closes down.

I kept reading the comments. It only confirms my belief that 60% of the country will have to burn to the ground before shit turns around. Part of the human condition is that most people don't 'get it' until it personally affects them with much pain.

Shit will not turn around until the country has experienced an apocalyptic event where the internet no longer exists, and half the population is gone.

The most likely scenario is the NWO, WEF, Globalist whatever plan is accomplished and we are all just frogs in the pot as the water is turned up until one day we are all chattle with zero control over our lives or freedoms.

Look at the graffiti everywhere. Zero pride in where you live. Zero ownership. There can only be a downward trajectory where that exists.
