For those not paying attention, the rape was actually criminally not reported by the providing physician and is under investigation. Also, Ohio doesn’t exclude 10 year old rape victims from abortion, it’s covered under medical conditions.
Yeah, this arrest does literally nothing to answer any of the questions I have. Why didn't the parents notice their child was sexually assaulted? Why didn't they take them to a hospital to get a D&C? Why was is never reported to police? Why did they wait for so long. There are two answers and both of them are fucking horrifying.
That's even worse - a girl was raped and their first thought was get her an abortion, NOT prosecute the rapist.

Right. The story itself is still actually fake. The girl wasn't forced to flee the state to get an abortion. Nobody was doubting that a ten year old got raped - after all, we've been predicting Sweden style state-sanctioned rape gangs for years. We doubted that the state of Ohio forced her into exile. And it didn't. We were right.
I was doubting the rape given that there hadn't been a suspect named. Now there is one so all doubt has been removed, but it was fair to claim the rape might have been fake given the lack of verifiable information in the original story.
I was doubting that the whole thing existed when it had not been reported. I never doubted that it could have happened.

That's right, you must grovel for rightful skepticism. Only blind faith is acceptable behaviour, heathens and apostates will be burned.
I hate the black and white mentality. People were right to be skeptical; there was zero evidence. It's very sad it turned out that there really was (apparently, unless something else comes out) a ten year old that was raped. That's fucking terrible. But the skepticism was still absolutely warranted, yet they're trying to act like these people are terrible monsters for doubting a freaking ridiculous story that now looks to be true.
I was personally very skeptical. Looks like I was wrong. I'm not going to try to minimize that skepticism though. I stand by my reasoning, and would do the exact same thing again next time a story with so little backing evidence gets so widespread coverage. The story stunk, and parts of it still do.
Was the story true, or do illegal aliens rape ten year olds so reliably and frequently that it is trivial to find such a victim the moment it becomes politically expedient? Was the delay in releasing the details of the case actually caused by the search for such a victim? My first thought was “this probably happens a lot among the illegal alien community, so I’m surprised there are no details proving this happened”.
You were not wrong to be skeptical. I was the same way, and we were right. Sometimes you need to make the best analysis under all available evidence, and sometimes something unusual will happen, but the large majority of the time you'll be right.
And you're also correct that the other critical part of the story - that the 10 year old was DENIED AN ABORTION in Ohio - is clearly false.
Well, she may have been denied but, if she was, it was likely for political reasons, not legal. They wanted this story, and it sounds like multiple parties potentially broke the law to help create the narrative they wanted.

The difference between us and Politico is we have no problem changing our position once new evidence is uncovered.

Every indication was that the story was a lie, and I stand by my assessment that it was a lie. My logic and all available evidence supported that conclusion.
There is no evidence that the 10 year old ever attempted to get any abortion inside of Ohio, or that she was refused because the law forbade it. It was never established that she had a fetal heartbeat, which triggers the law, or that any physician refused to certify that an abortion would have been necessary to protect her health, which is an exception the law allows (and doctors in general consider pregnancies for 10 year olds - which is about the youngest that a girl can get pregnant - a serious health risk for the mother).
So just the fact that she exists does not prove all necessary elements of the media's claims. It only proves that she exists, but not that she could not get an abortion in Ohio.

I’m betting money they never collected dna evidence as it would have had to be sent to authorities for testing, which never happened or was never announced after the arrest. Like I said the doctor are likely the criminals in this case and probably will never be punished.

What source I read said they collected DNA from this guy plus her siblings. But I am of the opinion this is still a hoax.
Investigate the mother too. Seems she was in on it. And the doctors who failed to report the abuse. And the lax border policies under Obama that let this man into the country illegally.
